American Express has sent out a survey regarding possible changes to the Business Platinum card, often American Express does this ahead of card changes but sometimes these changes don’t come to fruition. Some of the changes were as follows:
- Annual fee increase to $695 (up from $595)
- $1,000 in B2B partner credits. Get up to $1,000 in statement credits annually for U.S. purchases with partners in categories like Computing (e.g., Dell), Food Delivery, Rideshare and Account on your Business Platinum card
- Ability to redeem rewards into AmEx business checking account (100 points = $1 so 1¢ per point)
- Ability to earn 1.5x Membership Rewards points on shipping, construction and electronics
- Free CLEAR membership
- Cell phone protection ($800 per claim, up to $1,600 per 12 month period)
- Removal of $200 airline fee credit
It’s hard to know how useful or bad these changes would be, mainly because there isn’t a lot of detail regarding the B2B credits. Personally don’t hate the removal of the airline credits as they are always a bit of a pain to use
