During a time when dining out has become less than ideal, Chase is giving eligible Sapphire cardholders an incentive to order in.
Through June 30, 2021, the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve® will earn 10X points on up to $500 in combined purchases when you order takeout or make a prepaid reservation at a restaurant through Chase Dining in the Chase Ultimate Rewards® portal. If you maxed out that offer, you would net an extra 5,000 points, worth $50 in cash back (and worth more than that if redeemed for travel through Chase).
Normally, for spending on dining — including eligible food delivery and takeout purchases — you’d earn 2 points per $1 spent with the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and 3 points per $1 spent with the Chase Sapphire Reserve®.
Unlike this 10X promo, however, those normal ongoing reward rates aren’t capped, and they aren’t limited to purchases or bookings through Chase Dining.
Note, too, that restaurants available through the Chase Dining portal will depend on your location. Cardholders in a larger city like Los Angeles, for example, will have more restaurant options than those in smaller areas.
