There’s no need for the Super Bowl LVII headliner to travel to Sin City for his hyped halftime show.
Usher has been calling Las Vegas home since mid-2022 when the eight-time Grammy Award-winner started his “My Way” residency and moved his family here.

“For one year I’ve been here. I’m not saying that this is the end-all-be-all, but I have a place here so I can accommodate my family,” the R&B star added in a lengthy interview with the Hollywood Reporter at the beginning of 2023.
And while he’s managed to keep all the deets about his Las Vegas house under wraps, the Confessions singer did let it slip that he lives in a sprawling apartment or penthouse in one of the city’s luxury residential buildings — calling it his “really cool mansion in the sky”.

Early in his career, Usher (whose full name is Usher Raymond IV) stayed true to a promise he made to his younger self: when he’d make it big in the music industry, he’d buy his music producer L.A. Reid’s house, which left an impression on him at the tender age of 13.
I came into this house … and I remember walking through it, just being mesmerized by everything I saw, and it was like, ‘One day, I want to own a house like this.’”

An 8,000-square-foot home with 7 bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, a climate-controlled treehouse, a yoga studio and a private dance studio, L.A. Reid’s house is impressive — but pales in comparison to some of suburban Atlanta’s megamansions.
Luckily, he didn’t see Evander Holyfield’s former home in the nearby Atlanta suburb of Fayetteville, a 109-room behemont which later became rapper Rick Ross’s mansion.
“I ended up buying this house. There’s history in it. My history lies in this house.”
But despite the history, the U Remind Me hitmaker (who’s not one to hoard properties, it would seem), sold the Alpharetta house formerly owned by L.A. Reid for $1.5 million back in 2018.

Usher also owned a Spanish-style estate in West Hollywood set on the same block as the landmark Chateau Marmont Hotel.
The property, which he first listed for sale in early 2018 for $4.2 million (it ended up selling for only $3.3 million), was originally built in 1926 and has been “artfully restored” to accommodate the artist and his growing family, retaining original details like stenciled beams and handcrafted ironwork.
But the artist sold that 5-bedroom house too in 2018, one of three homes he offloaded in the span of a single year.

The Fountainbleau has crested the wave of Miami glamour for more than 50 years.
The iconic building, widely recognized as one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach, has long been captivating locals and travelers with its distinctive design — which bears the signature of renowned architect Morris Lapidus. Lapidus’s neo-baroque style came to define the 1950s and ’60s resort-hotel design and has since become synonymous with Miami and Miami Beach.
Ever since the Fountainbleau Miami first opened its doors in 1954, the famed curvilinear resort has been a magnet for the biggest names in Hollywood.
Back in the ’50s and ’60s, guests staying at the hotel could rub shoulders with some of the most famous names in the entertainment industry like Elvis Presley, Lucille Ball, Bob Hope, and Judy Garland, who often stayed at the resort when in town.
Stellar performances have also been at the heart of Fontainebleau since Frank Sinatra made it the headquarters of his Rat Pack in the Fifties, and that element is just as relevant today. The resort’s nightclub, LIV, is considered one of the top clubs in the U.S., often frequented by some of the biggest celebrities in the world.
Following a massive $1 billion renovation completed in 2008, the Fontainebleau Miami Beach significantly expanded its footprint with the addition of two new luxury all-suite towers (Trésor and Sorrento) to the existing original structures, Chateau and Versailles.
Now, one of the penthouses set atop the Trésor building is up for grabs — with a price tag that matches the caliber of the building it’s set in.

Wine is one of those little things that bring me pleasure. I enjoy discovering new wines, but I’m not a wine snob. As I’ve mentioned before, my favorite wines are those that taste great but don’t break the bank.
I recently asked Gary Vaynerchuk — host of Wine Library TV — if he could suggest some good inexpensive wines for spring and summer. Gary put together a special episode of his program just for GRS readers:
“You want to talk about ‘get rich slowly’? Look for value plays in wines,” Gary says. “If you don’t overspend on wine, you’ve got more money in the bank!”
He makes a great point. As with anything, the key is to find value. Find wines that you like that don’t cost an arm-and-a-leg. I used to buy $40 and $50 bottles of wine. Sure, they were great — but you know what? I’ve found that it’s actually more fun — and certainly better for my budget — to find wines under $10 that I enjoy. One of the best parts of frugality is the sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing you’ve found something worthwhile without spending a lot of money.

Domaine De Laure Rose 2007 (~$7) — Gary says that a rosé is a perfect wine for spring or summer, served chilled while sitting on your porch.

You may not be able to find these exact bottles in your supermarket or wine store. That’s okay. If that’s true, then try to find the same varietal. If you can’t find the Dolianova Vermentino Di Sardegna Prendas 2007, for example, then simply look for a vermentino. (Even that might be a challenge.) The key is to be adventurous. Don’t just drink pinot noir and chardonnay. Try new things.
“Go out and explore and expand your palate,” Gary says. “Try different wines, wines from Argentina and South Africa and the south of France. So much great stuff out there…Get out there and try new things. The only way you’re going to know if you like a wine is if you taste it.”
When you do find a wine you love, write it down. If you discover that it’s within your budget, stock up. Consider buying a case. That’s what I’ve begun to do when I find a wine I like. Over the past year, I’ve purchased two cases of wine, and I want to purchase one more. The one-time expense can seem huge, but in the long run, buying in bulk will save me money.
Luxuries like wine (and chocolate and good cheese and…) can be difficult to justify for a frugal shopper. But if you budget well and shop carefully, you can enjoy drinking wine without spending a fortune.
