Talk about a quick turnaround!
British-born actress Thandiwe Newton, best known for her work on HBO’s “Westworld,” has quickly sold her rustic Topanga, CA, home in the heart of the Santa Monica mountains. She owned it for just four months.
Purchased in September 2022 for $2,625,000, the home quickly reentered the market for the exact same price. But it was sold for $2,750,000, so the savvy actress actually made some dough from the transaction.
The three-bedroom, 1.5-bath mountain home has more than 2,300 square feet of living space. It comes with a studio guest cottage and children’s playhouse.
Rustic real estate
Rough-hewn texture and post-and-beam construction make for a beautiful cabin in the woods, albeit one with luxury touches in every room.
Incredible mountain views fill enormous glass walls, windows, and skylights, while a 20-foot rock fireplace anchors the main living space.
Doors swing wide to intermingle the home’s indoor spaces with its deck and patio. A second fireplace warms the main bedroom, which offers deck access and garden views.
The quarter-acre grounds include a pond, sauna, and hot tub.
In addition to her TV success, Newton has starred in numerous critically acclaimed films, including “The Pursuit of Happyness,” “Beloved,” and the Oscar-winning 2004 crime drama “Crash.”
