A historic estate in Carmel, California designed by famed builder M.J. Murphy has recently been listed for a staggering $35 million — and it’s making waves as one of the priciest homes in the idyllic coastal community.
Located along the prestigious Scenic Road in Carmel, the luxurious Spanish-style mansion, aptly named Villa Del Mar (which translates into Sea Villa), boasts uninterrupted oceanfront views, grand interiors, and a lot three times the average size for the area.
It also has the potential to set a new record if it sells anywhere near the asking price.
And we have little doubt that it will, as the real estate agent that holds the listing — Tim Allen — is the same one who delivered last year’s record sale (the Butterfly House, sold for a whopping $29 million).

What $35 million buys you in Carmel
So, what does shelling out a cool $35 million net you in the quaint-yet-pricey town of Carmel? Quite a bit, as it turns out.
We’re talking a sprawling 5,529 square feet of luxury living space that’s perched on an oceanfront lot triple the size of your average Carmel pad.
With five bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, and not one, not two, but three cozy fireplaces, Villa Del Mar has plenty to offer its future owners.
And the location is simply unbeatable. Imagine having Carmel Beach as your front yard, with downtown’s chic cafes and boutiques just a stroll away. This isn’t just a home; it’s a slice of coastal heaven with a VIP pass to Carmel’s top spots.
An M.J. Murphy Legacy Home
Crafted in 1928 by none other than M.J. Murphy, a master builder who literally shaped early Carmel-by-the-Sea with his architectural prowess, this home is a true legacy estate.
Murphy, known for erecting nearly 350 buildings between 1902 and 1940, certainly left his mark, and this home is a testament to his legacy. It’s not just a structure; it’s a piece of history.
Sophisticated interiors
From the grand entrance with its spiraling staircase and custom iron chandelier to the formal dining room ready for swanky gatherings, every corner screams elegance. The heart of the home, a lavishly updated kitchen, can accommodate even the most demanding chef.
The Spanish influences continue inside
As you wander through, you’ll notice the Spanish vibes aren’t just confined to the architecture.
Arched doorways, ornate tiles, and sumptuous furnishings all echo the Mediterranean spirit. Each room is a leaf out of a design magazine, adorned with intricate chandeliers and floral motifs that just beckon you to stay a while longer.
Rooms open up to uninterrupted ocean views
Nearly every room here frames a picture-perfect snapshot of the Pacific, turning every moment into a tranquil retreat. Whether you’re waking up to the soft sounds of the waves or enjoying a sunset, it’s all about the views.

Outdoor amenities
Outside, the extravagance continues. A private pool, surrounded by lush gardens, offers a secluded oasis. Fancy a pizza? There’s an outdoor oven ready for those alfresco dining adventures. Plus, a spacious terrace lets you entertain or unwind with the ocean as your backdrop.
One of Carmel’s most expensive homes
One of the priciest homes to ever hit the market in Carmel, and nearly matching the price of the historic DL James house Brad Pitt owns nearby, Villa Del Mar has all the potential to beat the record set last year by the Butterfly House, which sold for a hefty $29 million.
Especially with real estate wizard Tim Allen of Tim Allen Properties Team (with Coldwell Banker Realty in Northern California) at the helm. Remember him? He’s the one who brokered last year’s top sale.
Listing held by a record-breaking realtor
Speaking of Tim Allen, having the same powerhouse realtor who managed last year’s record sale means this listing might just set new highs. If history is any indicator, we might be witnessing another milestone in Carmel’s real estate saga.

The Summit Club is undoubtedly the epicenter of luxury living in Las Vegas.
Located just 15 minutes from the Strip, this exclusive neighborhood and golf community is spread across more than 600 acres of stunning desert landscape and features a Tom Fazio-designed golf course, unique wellness and recreation programs, and 260 luxurious residences.
Celine Dion sold a house here for $30 million last year, setting a new local real estate record and making a killer profit in the process.
The singer reportedly paid $9.2 million for her then-freshly-built Las Vegas manse back in 2017, heavily renovated the place in the years since, then tripled her initial investment by selling it in an off-market transaction for $30 million.
Actor Mark Wahlberg bought himself a $14.5 million bungalow in The Summit Club (which he has since sold) while waiting for his mansion to be built on a separate 2.5-acre lot in the same community, which he purchased for $15.6 million.
Now, a recently built property that landed on the market in mid-2023 just scored a nearly $20 million sale — and it’s as impressive as you’d expect.
The modern, minimalist abode at 11051 Witchcraft Court was designed and built by renowned luxury homebuilder, Blue Heron, and is nestled on a premium corner homesite with unparalleled views of the golf course, mountains, and the world-famous Las Vegas Strip.
“This architectural gem spans an impressive 9,827 square feet which includes the attached five-bedroom casita with private entrance,” said Lillie Shines of Coldwell Banker Premier Realty Global Luxury with whom the property was exclusively listed.
“We are ecstatic to confirm the sale of this remarkable property, which has truly set a new standard for luxury living in Las Vegas,” Shines adds.
“This sale marks a significant milestone in 2024, showcasing the enduring allure of premium properties within golf and lifestyle communities like The Summit Club.“
Originally listed at $23.5 million, the 2022-built luxury residence offers 9 bedrooms and 9 baths, and is lined with expansive pocket sliders to create an indoor-outdoor living experience.
“The sophisticated, single-story design of the main house features retractable glass walls which open to create a seamless indoor/outdoor living experience that beautifully incorporates the home’s captivating exteriors and natural surroundings,” Shines added.
The gourmet chef’s kitchen, equipped with top-of-line appliances, an oversized quartz island with waterfall edges, and custom white cabinetry, is the hub of the home and makes it easy to access all the other areas, including the flex room, secondary bedrooms, pool area, elevator to the deck, gym, or even the attached casita.
“The temperature-controlled wine wall is a centerpiece of the designer kitchen promising to elevate every celebration to new heights,” said Shines. “There’s also an elevator to easily serve your guests on the rooftop deck.”
The primary bedroom features a private sitting area with direct access to its own spa. The primary bathroom too comes with a luxury spa vibe, boasting an “outdoor oasis with dual showers”, per the listing.
Not to be outdone, the casita on the property stands as a private two-story retreat, complete with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and a separate 2-car garage.
The first floor of the casita features a gathering room with a kitchen and a primary suite, while the second floor offers 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
Originally intended to be a multi-generational space, there are endless possibilities on how to maximize this unique area.
Heading outside, we find a resort-style backyard with not one, but TWO zero-edge pools, and plenty of outdoor amenities that add to its appeal. This includes a spa, an outdoor kitchen equipped with a pizza oven, and a bar.
And just in case the future owners need even more space for entertaining, they can take the party to the roof, where a stylish rooftop deck with a bar offers jaw-dropping views of the Las Vegas strip and city lights.
Listing agent Lillie Shines has witnessed the complete transformation of this property as she has been working with the home’s sellers since 2019 when they first selected this parcel of land at The Summit Club.
From its inception, Shines was integral in both the transaction and coordinating the design of the custom build as her sellers had to communicate with her from overseas while international travel was halted during the pandemic.
And we’re happy to see that her efforts were rewarded with a successful sale closed at the beginning of March. The final sale price was $19.7 million.
“The sale of 11051 Witchcraft Court underscores the timeless appeal of luxury properties that offer both opulence and functionality,” remarked Bob Hamrick, Chairman and CEO of Coldwell Banker Premier Realty.
“We are proud to have facilitated the transaction of such an extraordinary property, setting a new benchmark for excellence in Las Vegas real estate.”

Everything’s bigger in Texas, luxury homes included. And the latest example of opulent real estate to hit the Dallas market is the former mega-mansion of six-time NBA All-Star Jermaine O’Neal, which recently resurfaced on the market for $12.4 million in the suburb of Southlake.
A former Indiana Pacers center and power forward, O’Neal played for an additional six teams throughout his athletic tenure — none of which were in Texas- before retiring in 2016.
Still, O’Neal chose to settle in Southlake for its prestige, allure, and vicinity to vibrant Dallas, which happens to be the home of his favorite football team, the Cowboys.
And while he parted ways with the house some while back, for us, the retired NBA star’s home at 940 W Dove Rd. scores as many points as its previous owner racked up over his career.
Designed by the esteemed local builder Michael Kindred and sitting on nearly 5 landscaped acres, the Southlake, Texas house is anything but humble.
The elegant and modern Mediterranean-style mansion has everything you could ask for in a property and more, with 8 bedrooms, 10 full baths, and 3 half baths spanning over an impressive 16,000 square feet of living space.
Curated details like the natural limestone and custom wood flooring elevate the mansion while offering a homey feel despite its massive size.
A two-story open living space stuns with statement chandeliers, glossy marble finishes, and colossal windows overlooking the grounds beyond.
Meanwhile, the upscale kitchen boasts all the bells and whistles of a multi-million dollar home, including double sinks and dishwashers, state-of-the-art Wolf Brand appliances, and a spacious walk-in pantry.
The dining areas and additional living room all feature large windows that provide ample natural lighting while offering views of the surrounding scenery — a common theme throughout the property.
Whichever couple or bachelor(ette) snatches the sizable mansion can truly spoil themselves in the master suite featuring a spacious shower and soaking tub, his and her closets, and a cozy bedroom with intricate crown molding for an extra dose of opulence.
In addition to the closets, a pair of exclusive his and her home offices mean the next owners can get down to business without distractions before unwinding lavishly in the home’s entertainment areas.
The future homeowner of 940 W Dove Rd. can get the party started in the posh game room, complete with a billiard table, bowling alley, wet bar, and private theater.
Outside, a resort-style oasis boasts an outdoor kitchen and two covered seating areas- including a cabana with a fireplace- to wine and dine al fresco in unparalleled comfort.
What steals the show, though, is the mega pool featuring a slide, mood lighting, and a spa corner for ultimate relaxation.
Moving back indoors, you’ll find a home gym that’s anything but average, offering lockers, a full bath, and a sauna for an elevated workout worthy of a pro athlete.
What’s more? You guessed it — an indoor basketball court totaling 8,300 square feet, almost like a tribute to the home’s former basketball star owner.
Anyone who values privacy or throwing lavish parties will appreciate all 4.828 acres of this sprawling compound. Thanks to its six-car garage and motor court in the back of the grounds and charming grand circle entry to the front, a lengthy list of guests can be easily accommodated.
We think the now-retired Pacers player’s home is just as outstanding as his athletic record. And while O’Neal parted ways with the property in 2022, he left the mark of his basketball legacy behind. Sherri Murphy of Coldwell Banker Realty Dallas is now listing the buff all-star home in the Lone Star state for $12.4 million.

Miami’s ultra-exclusive Fisher Island has unveiled its latest real estate offering — a $27,995,000 mansion in the upscale Valencia Estates community — and it’s as eye-catching as the exquisite tropical retreat in which it is located.
One of only 7 homes built at the Valencia Estates, the Parisian-inspired mansion at 6915 Valencia Drive stands out as one of the few similar offerings on Fisher Island, where condos and penthouses are far more common than single-family residences.
It’s also one of the priciest. But it has all the perks to justify its nearly $28 million asking price, including a location that places it mere minutes from the former Vanderbilt retreat on Fisher Island, now a world-class country club.
That’s right, for those unfamiliar with the area, Fisher Island boasts a prestigious country club that’s been home to the Vanderbilts, Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, and handfuls of other upper-echelon residents throughout the years.
Its private beaches, resort-style amenities, and world-class restaurants are only accessible by ferry or private yacht and available to those lucky enough to snag a spot on the coveted yet highly exclusive guestlist.
The recently listed mansion lies in an even more elite part of the already exclusive island — Valencia Estates — which offers a formidable alternative to the sea of condos and penthouses as the only completed community of homes on the 216-acre private island. At least until The Links estates (which are currently being developed on the island) are completed.
With 6 bedrooms and 9 full baths spanning over 9,400 square feet, every corner of the home exudes sophistication and luxury, seamlessly integrating Parisian-style influence within its tropical surroundings.
A lush exterior alludes to the elegant spread that awaits inside.
Lofty ceilings in the foyer and living space countered by more enclosed spaces offer a cozy yet decadent feel all at the same time.
The impeccable details of the chic property are what set it a step above. Every room features a distinct style yet still achieves a cohesive feel that exudes unparalleled and timeless taste.
Craftful finishes like ornate chandeliers, marble tiling, and elegant crown molding tie the space together and elevate it from your run-of-the-mill mansion to an artful masterpiece.
From the wet bar to the formal dining room, breakfast nook, and marble waterfall island, the future estate owner can savor each meal of the day with a different yet equally impressive view of the glamorous home and its pristine surroundings.
Upstairs, golden light filters through paneled French doors that open to a covered terrace overlooking the community’s scenic deep-water marina and condos beyond.
Meanwhile, the boutique-style master suite boasts distinctive masculine and feminine elements to appeal to the next Mr. and Mrs. 6915 Valencia Dr.
Tasteful wallpapers give each bedroom a unique splash of personality, which is balanced by the soothing, zen-like views of the coconut palms outside.
Outside, an exotic enclave features an outdoor kitchen and bar with various seating areas ideal for sipping fruity cocktails under the Florida sun. A heated pool with a cabana sauna and spa adds to the element of self-pampering luxury.
Fisher Island’s expert agent, Tatyana Ionin of Coldwell Banker Realty, is currently listing the high-end home along with several other equally stunning multi-million dollar properties in the area.
One of the priciest homes in Paradise — aka Miami’s prestigious Fisher Island — just listed for $28 Million originally appeared on Fancy Pants Homes.

A landmark property in Pebble Beach, and one of the first homes built in the Samuel F.B. Morse subdivision, has been listed for sale for the first time in nearly half a century.
The estate, built in 1924 by the esteemed architect Clarence Tantau, is now being offered at $22.75 million following an extensive renovation that prepares it for the next century.
With his trademark Spanish-style architecture, which he frequently employed in both residential and commercial designs, Clarence Tantau is best known for his designs in the Bay Area, which often reflected the regional architectural styles and the Art Deco movement that was popular during his active years.
He designed countless homes throughout his career in Oakland, Berkeley, Piedmont, Santa Cruz, and the Monterey Peninsula — including this Spanish Revival estate that is one of the oldest properties in the elegant coastal community of Pebble Beach.
Located at 1451 Ondulado Rd, this particular Clarence Tantau-designed house spans nearly 8,400 square feet of living space on 6.44 acres of land, spread across two parcels.
It features seven bedrooms, six full and three half bathrooms, and has been carefully updated to blend modern amenities with its original Spanish Revival charm.
Owned by the same family for close to 45 years, the property is now being brought to market for the first time in half a century, ahead of its centennial.
One of the current owners, Stephen E. Soske, remarked on the joy the property has brought to his family over generations, expressing his hope that the next owners will cherish and share the historic home with their loved ones for years to come.
Our family has loved living and entertaining at this iconic property for several generations. It is time for the next owner to enjoy this historic home and share it with their friends and family for generations to come.”
Owner Stephen E. Soske said in a press release
Stephen was also the one to oversee the home’s renovation in recent years, which transformed some of the interiors to better reflect the needs of modern homeowners without altering the original design.
The renovation, completed in 2023, also included a kitchen overhaul spearheaded by Monterey Kitchens, Inc., now featuring high-end appliances from Subzero, Wolf, and Miele, alongside quartzite counters, an island, and custom cabinetry.
Noteworthy features of the home include two primary suites with ocean views, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and original architectural elements like Douglas Fir floors and Terra-Cotta tiles.
The property’s private grounds are accessed via a tree-lined driveway leading to a second gated entry, creating a secluded and exclusive atmosphere.
The estate’s extensive grounds have been professionally landscaped with drought-tolerant plants, and work is underway to potentially divide the land into four developable parcels, offering a range of future uses.
Situated a short distance from the world-renowned Pebble Beach Lodge and Resort, the estate promises an unparalleled living experience, combining the area’s natural beauty with luxurious living spaces.
The listing is managed by Tim Allen of the Tim Allen Properties Team at Coldwell Banker Realty’s Carmel-by-the-Sea / Junipero office, under the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury program.
Allen, a real estate veteran with nearly four decades of experience, shared his personal connection to the estate, recalling family photos taken on the property and expressing pride in representing a home with such a storied place in Pebble Beach’s history.
“Many long-standing residents in the region have an affinity for the history of this property, including myself,” listing agent Tim Allen says.
“I recall family photos taken at the property when I was in my youth. Along with that comes a sense of pride that I can show this home to potential buyers and intimately inform them of the home’s place in Pebble Beach’s history.”
With its rich history, recent modernization, and prime location, this Pebble Beach estate stands ready to welcome its next chapter. Located close to The Lodge at Pebble Beach and its renowned golf courses (famously hosting the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am golf tournament), this location is in one of California’s most breathtaking coastal communities.
And even celebrities have taken notice, with Brad Pitt himself buying a historical home in nearby Carmel Highlands.

Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian is looking for a buyer for his hip Austin-area home.
Fresh off the heels of his contract extension (the University of Texas head coach was awarded a four-year contract extension last month, outlets report), which is likely to bring a major pay raise for the football coach, Sarkisian and his wife, Loreal Sarkisian, might be on the lookout for a bigger abode.
Their current home — listed for $5,880,000 — is a bright and beautiful contemporary home with over 5,000 square feet of polished interiors.
Located in Rollingwood, one of the best-rated suburbs in the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area, within close proximity to the city proper (Rollingwood essentially borders the western edge of the city), the coach’s home is as inviting as it is elegant.
Clocking in at 5,331 square feet of living space, the Rollingwood house has 5 bedrooms, 6 baths and 1 half-bath, and sits on a 0.40-acre lot.
The main level’s open floorplan includes an owner’s suite with an expansive bath, private office, laundry room, and guest suite.
Heading up to the second level, we find 3 other bedrooms with en-suite baths, a secondary office, a media room and another laundry room.
Outdoor amenities include a pool, spa, firepit area, and even a putting green for golf enthusiasts.

Why would Sarkisian part ways with this beauty?
An older article on the website of local radio station 101.5 KNUE shared a while back that the coach — who also served as an offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons before coaching the University of Alabama team from 2019 to 2020 — may have picked up the property in a rush.
The article suggests that Sarkisian and his family needed a place to settle down in Texas after moving from Alabama and accepting the University of Texas’ offer to coach the Longhorns. The word on the street is that he’s now looking for another place to call home.
And after leading the Longhorns to the Big 12 championship and a College Football Playoff appearance, he’s likely in for a pay bump that would allow him to go bigger with his house purchase this time around.
And while we normally don’t give much credence to rumors, that would explain why the Texas Longhorns coach first listed the property for sale in 2022 — one year after moving here. (The property was first listed for sale in late September 2022, and has since seen quite a few price adjustments).
Drew and Patricia Tate with the Tate Property Group affiliated with Coldwell Banker Realty Austin are in charge of the listing.

The demand for homes in Summerlin has been steadily increasing over the years, leading to a rise in property values. The community’s prime location, coupled with its exceptional amenities and quality of life, make it an attractive choice for both homebuyers and investors.
But despite being a top luxury home destination, Summerlin’s house prices can accommodate a wide range of budgets — and are considerably less prohibitive compared to those found in other top luxury markets on the West or East Coasts.
“Anyone can call Summerlin home,” luxury agent Cami Lincowski tells us. “With price ranges starting at $400k & tipping the scale at $15m+, this city is not just made of city lights, but all walks of life.”
The community offers a wide range of housing options, from single-family homes to luxury condominiums and townhouses.
Whether you are looking to buy a home or invest in real estate, Summerlin offers a wealth of opportunities. The community’s diverse housing options cater to a range of budgets and lifestyles, ensuring that there is something for everyone.
Celebrities that call it home
With the Mansion Tax adding fuel to the California exodus, many of the Golden State’s affluent residents started flocking to new luxury markets — with A-listers and famous individuals choosing to make Las Vegas their new primary residence.
Naturally, Summerlin emerged as a top choice.
Celebrities to have called Summerlin home include actor Mark Wahlberg (who sold his sprawling $55 million LA mansion to move here), Grammy Award-winning singer Celine Dion, who sold her freshly-built Summit Club house for a record $30 million, and several Golden Knights players.
NHL pro Max Pacioretty played only four seasons with the Vegas Golden Knights (2018-2022) but went all in when it came to making himself at home in Sin City. The Carolina Hurricanes left winger owned a 10,000+ sq. ft. home in The Ridges community, which he sold for top dollar last year.
Pacioretty’s spectacular estate “netted” a cool $11 million, a record for the high-end The Ridges community.
Rob Roy, the CEO, founder, and chairman of Switch Communications Group, also paid $33 million for 5 acres to build a luxury estate in the same Summerlin resort community.
And while Wahlberg recently sold one of his Summerlin homes for $16.6 million one year after buying it, he made it clear he loves living here and has no plans of leaving the Las Vegas community. He’s just waiting for his other mansion to be completed.
