What are some traditions people have on Christmas day?
There are many different family Christmas traditions that people partake in.
Some common traditions include:

Doing crafts on December 25th
Exchanging gifts.
These traditions are often passed down from generation to generation and are a lot of fun for both children and adults.
Another popular tradition is saying “Merry Christmas” to one another. This usually happens when family members gather together to celebrate the holiday.
Families come from all over to spend time with each other on Christmas day, and the joyous atmosphere is something that can’t be replicated any other time of year.
What do people typically eat on Christmas day?
Christmas is a time when many people come together to celebrate. While the exact traditions may vary, there are some acts that remain the same. For example, many people will eat turkey, mashed potatoes, and cookies on Christmas day (source).

Christmas is a time for family, friends, and fun.
Christmas day can be a lot of fun, but it’s important to make the most of it!
The best tips for making the most of Christmas day include spending time with your family and having a good time.
Here are some important tips to keep in mind when celebrating.
Tip #1 – Watch for Stressors
Make sure to take a break from the “seasonal grind” and forget to enjoy the holidays yourself.
Before Christmas day arrives, make a list of the stressors you tend to experience on this joyous holiday. Make a conscious decision to avoid the stressors as much as possible. If you cannot completely avoid one of them, then limit your time and plan for decompress time afterward.

Tip #3 – Get Outdoors
On Christmas Day, go outside and enjoy all the fitness opportunities that a cold day has to offer.
Many people stay inside their buildings and homes for the holidays, but outdoor time is actually beneficial. The colder the weather, the better, because when your body is cold even a small outing helps release some of the heat that has been gathering in your body.
Getting outside will help you stay away from any possible triggers, too!
Tip #4 – Spend Less Money
It’s Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year.
Christmas is often a heavy financial burden for many individuals who are required to buy gifts and arrange an evening meal for loved ones.
All the extra expense can sap people of the energy and life they relish in the rest of the year, hence leading to depression which leads to a number of other health complications.
So, plan your Christmas budget ahead of time, so you can walk away happy.
Tip #5 – Remember the True Reason for Christmas
Christmas Day is one day of the year that is meant to be enjoyed and celebrated.
Yet, we tend to forget the true reason for the season – the birth of Jesus Christ.
While we are called to celebrate in community, keep the real reason at the center of your get-togethers with family and friends, and enjoy some of the traditional festivities.
What activities are open on Christmas day?
First of all, before you go, check online or call to see if the business is open.
Typically, you can find convenience stores, gas stations, movie theaters, and some restaurants open on Christmas.

Our Verdict
Previously the best deal was 150k + 50k or 150k + $100. We have also seen the free night certificate offer but that was restricted to weekend nights but Hilton improved free nights so they can be used on any night. I’d only recommend signing up for this offer if you plan to use the Hilton points sooner rather than later as Hilton is known for devaluing points. We will add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses. Similar bonus available on the business card but for 150k + free night certificate.
If you’re like most people, you enjoy eating out at (or ordering in from) restaurants. You shop for groceries weekly, if not more often. You stream your favorite shows and podcasts. You own or share a car.
The U.S. Bank Altitude® Go Visa Signature® Card rewards you for doing all of these things, and it doesn’t charge an annual fee for the privilege. But it’s not perfect. Before you race to apply, make sure you understand its limitations as well.
What Is the U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card?
The U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card is a rewards credit card with no annual fee.
Its rewards program is particularly generous on restaurant purchases, including takeout and delivery. It also pays above the 1-point-per-$1-spent baseline on purchases at gas stations, electric vehicle charging stations, grocery stores, and streaming service providers.
Altitude Go has some other notable features, including a 0% intro APR promotion on purchases and balance transfers (then 19.99% to 28.99% APR variable) and a one-time streaming credit after you make at least 11 monthly purchases with popular providers.
What Sets the U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card Apart?
The U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but it does stand out from the competition (in a good way) for several reasons:
Very good return on restaurant purchases. With Altitude Go, you earn 4 points per $1 spent on restaurant purchases, which works out to a 4% return on spending. Few if any other no-annual-fee credit cards match that.
0% intro APR promotion on purchases and balance transfers. Altitude Go has a 0% intro APR for 12 months on purchases and balance transfers (then 19.99% to 28.99% APR variable). Balance transfer promotions aren’t as common today as a few years ago, so it’s notable that Altitude Go offers both.
Annual streaming credit. It won’t make you rich, but Altitude Go’s annual $15 streaming credit helps you claw back some of your streaming service spending. You do need to make at least 11 monthly streaming purchases on your card each year to qualify.
Bonus rewards on EV charging purchases. Some credit cards that offer bonus rewards on gas station purchases don’t yet extend the benefit to electric vehicle charging purchases. This will change as EV adoption grows, but for now, Altitude Go is among a select group of go-to credit cards for EV owners.
Key Features of the U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card
The U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card has an average to slightly above-average sign-up bonus, a generous rewards program, and an annual bonus for folks who consistently charge popular streaming service subscriptions on the card.
Sign-Up Bonus
Earn 20,000 bonus points after you spend $1,000 in eligible purchases in the first 90 days. That’s worth $200 redeemable toward gift cards, merchandise, travel, cash back, and more.
Earning Rewards
Altitude Go has a generous rewards program that reserves its best earn rate — 4 points per $1 spent — for restaurant purchases, including takeout and delivery.
Purchases in several additional categories earn 2 points per $1 spent:
Gas stations
EV charging stations
Grocery stores and online grocery delivery services
Streaming services
All other eligible purchases earn 1 point per $1 spent.
Redeeming Rewards
You can redeem points for merchandise, travel, gift cards, cash, and other items. Minimum redemption amounts vary by item type. For example, cash redemptions (statement credits or bank account deposits) require a 2,500-point minimum ($25 value).
You can redeem at any time — no need to wait until the end of the statement cycle.

After you make 11 months of streaming purchases on your Altitude Go card, you receive a credit of $15. Dozens of popular streaming services are eligible, including but not limited to:
Amazon Music

Disney+
ESPN+
HBO Max

You’re limited to one $15 credit per year, regardless of how much you spend on streaming services.
Intro APR Promotion

You must make qualifying balance transfers within 60 days of account opening.
Important Fees
There’s no annual fee or foreign transaction fee. The balance transfer fee is the greater of $5 or 3% of the transfer amount.
Credit Required
This card requires good to excellent credit. Any significant credit blemishes could affect your approval odds.
Advantages
The U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card has a lot going for it. Notable benefits include its strong (but not amazing) sign-up bonus, its generous and varied rewards program, and an additional perk for anyone who regularly consumes streaming content.
No annual fee. Altitude Go has no annual fee. If you want to use it for occasional spending in the favored categories, that’s fine — no need to worry about earning enough rewards to offset a recurring fee.
Excellent return on restaurant purchases. Altitude Go earns 4 points per $1 spent on restaurant purchases. That’s better than premium dining credit cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Sapphire Reserve Cards.
Bonus rewards on gas and EV charging purchases. Altitude Go rewards gas station and EV charging station purchases equally. This is a key benefit for the growing number of EV owners looking to recapture some of their charging expenses.
$15 annual streaming credit. Altitude Go’s annual streaming credit is enough to offset a month or so of Netflix. It’s not life-changing, but every little bit helps.
0% intro APR promotion on purchases and balance transfers. Altitude Go has matching 0% intro APR promotions: 12 months on purchases and balance transfers, then 19.99% to 28.99% APR variable. Many rewards credit cards only have intro purchase APR promotions.
Above-average (but not amazing) sign-up bonus. Altitude Go’s sign-up bonus is above-average for a no-annual-fee credit card. It’s easy to attain as well.
Disadvantages
The U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card has some downsides to consider before you apply. The low baseline rewards rate and relative lack of value-added features both deserve mention.
Low baseline rewards rate (1 point per $1 spent). Altitude Go earns just 1 point per $1 spent on most purchases. The bonus categories are broad enough that it’s easy to earn at a higher rate overall, but it would be nice to see 1.5 or 2 points per $1 spent on other purchases.
Few value-added benefits. Other than the annual streaming credit, Altitude Go has few value-added perks of note.
Rewards program has become less valuable over time. When it first hit the market, Altitude Go earned 4 points per $1 spent on gas station and EV charging purchases. Now, it earns 2 points per $1 spent in those categories. It’s still better than the baseline, but the decline is notable.
How the U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card Stacks Up
Altitude Go shares the spotlight with a bunch of other dining, grocery, streaming, and fuel credit cards.
One competitor that’s particularly interesting to us is the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, which is widely recognized as a top travel and dining card. Before you apply for either, see how they compare.

Final Word
The U.S. Bank Altitude® Go Visa Signature® Card is one of the best dining credit cards on the market. That Altitude Go has no annual fee makes this all the more impressive — most other top-tier dining credit cards do have annual fees.
Altitude Go has other perks too, including broad 2x rewards categories and an annual streaming bonus. Its sign-up bonus isn’t bad either. But it’s not perfect — no credit card is. If you’re looking for a card with higher baseline rewards on everyday spending or more value-added benefits, Altitude Go probably isn’t the best fit for you.

Have you heard about Fetch Rewards? My Fetch Rewards Review will show you how to earn free gift cards by simply snapping a picture of your receipts with your phone. That’s it – Fetch is really that easy!
Fetch Rewards is a cash back and gift card cell phone app that rewards you for purchases that you’ve already made.
With this app, you can scan your grocery receipts (from any grocery store or wholesale club, any time) and earn free gift cards.
Plus, Fetch Rewards is free. You don’t have to pay money to sign up or to use the app.
I will explain more in my Fetch rewards app review, but with Fetch, you earn points when you submit your receipts to the Fetch Rewards app from any grocery store, clothing store, restaurant, gas station, and more. Yes, ANY!
Then, you redeem your points for gift cards (to places such as Target, Amazon, or Apple) and other rewards.
All you have to do is take a picture of your receipt with your cell phone and easily earn points.
Here’s how Fetch Rewards works:
Shop like you normally would
Scan your receipt after you’re done
Earn points on Fetch Rewards
You can sign up for Fetch Rewards here.

Fetch Rewards Review
What is Fetch Rewards?
I want to start my Fetch Rewards review with some basic information about the company and app. Fetch Rewards is based out of Madison, Wisconsin, and this shopping app has helped millions of people save money with the tap of a button as you simply scan physical and digital receipts.
Every month, over 11,000,000 people use Fetch Rewards. It is super easy to use Fetch and receive free gift cards.
I keep saying it’s simple because it really is! Every time you shop or dine out, you can scan your receipt into the Fetch Rewards app.
You can scan receipts from any grocery store, clothing store, pet store, home improvement store, club store, restaurant, gas station, and more. Basically, anywhere you shop, you can snap a picture of the receipt and scan it into Fetch.
You can even use your digital receipts from online purchases such as Amazon, Target, Instacart, and more by connecting your online accounts.
If you have a receipt, then you can scan it!
You earn points when you submit your receipts, and Fetch pays you in points that you can redeem for gift cards.
There are many redemption options. Here are some of the places you can receive gift cards from:
Starbucks
Dunkin Donuts
Amazon
Target
Visa gift cards
Airbnb
Old Navy
Ulta
Barnes & Noble
Bass Pro Shops
Instacart
Sam’s
BJ’s
Best Buy
Lowe’s
And so many more!
You can also decide to put your points towards charitable organizations, such as The Red Cross or the Clean Water Fund. You can even use your points to enter sweepstakes in the Fetch app.
Don’t worry, I’ll explain more about how to redeem your points further down in my Fetch Rewards review.
How does Fetch Rewards work?
Here’s how Fetch Rewards works:
Sign up and download Fetch Rewards by creating an account or connecting a Google or Facebook account account, and then make a password for your account.
Go shopping like you normally do.
Scan your first receipt and earn points. To do this, you simply go to your Fetch Rewards app and click on the orange circle at the bottom of your screen that says “Snap.” You then take a picture of your receipt. If you have a digital receipt, you can just tap on the blue circle instead.
Redeem your points for gift cards, make charitable donations, enter sweepstakes, and more.
I have personally used Fetch to prepare for my Fetch Rewards review, and I can promise you it’s just that simple!
How much can you earn with Fetch Rewards?
The amount you can earn on Fetch Rewards really depends on your spending, whether you are completing the Fetch Special Offers, and so on.
Because I am writing this Fetch Rewards review, I wanted to use the app for a while to give you the best review possible, and I was able to earn around $56 in free gift cards in 2-3 months by simply spending how I normally do. I didn’t put any additional effort in the app other than just scanning my shopping receipts.
As you can see, Fetch Rewards clearly won’t make you rich, but you can easily make a little extra money shopping like you normally do.
I also don’t think that I spent more than 20 minutes total in the Fetch app. It’s easy to use and only takes like 10 seconds to scan a receipt. You don’t have to do anything else.
What stores can I use for Fetch Rewards?
The great thing about Fetch Rewards is that you can use any retailer or store where you buy groceries, from big box stores, to mom and pop stores, to drug stores, convenience stores, hardware stores, liquor stores, gas stations, club stores (such as Costco), and more.
With any receipt I get, I scan it into the Fetch Rewards app. It takes less than a minute, and you earn points with every scan – so easy!
Plus, you don’t have to jump through any hoops to get points. You don’t need to pre-select the offers in the Fetch Rewards app or scan barcodes, plus there are no surveys or ads. Simply go shopping at your favorite retailers just like usual.
You simply scan your receipt after you are done shopping and earn points.
How many receipts can I scan on Fetch a day?
Fetch Rewards allows you to submit 35 receipts within a 7-day period. Electronic receipts that are processed on your account do not count toward the 35 receipt limit.
Other things to know about using Fetch Rewards:
Fetch Rewards works for stores located in the United States and Puerto Rico.
You have 14 days to scan your receipts to earn points.
When you scan your receipts, your receipt must include the store name, the items that you bought, the date of your purchase, the store’s address, and the total amount that you spent. All of that information is included on your receipt.
If you scan a receipt with a participating item from the Special Offers tab, then you will get bonus points.
If you have a long receipt, you simply just snap more pictures to make sure that your whole receipt is included.
You should never make fake receipts or scan the same receipt twice in order to try and get more points. This violates Fetch’s terms of service. Always be honest!
Does Fetch Rewards take gas receipts?
Yes, you can scan your gas receipts with Fetch Rewards.
If you’re looking to earn even more from your gas station purchases, then I recommend Upside.
Upside is an app that helps you find gas stations, groceries, and restaurants where you can earn cash back. You simply sign up for a free account, and then look at the Upside app to find places near you.
You can earn up to $0.25/gallon cash back at gas stations, up to 30% back on grocery purchases, and up to 45% back at restaurants.
You can check out Upside here to learn more.
Fetch Rewards Special Offers
What receipts give you the most points on Fetch?
There are several main ways that you can earn points on Fetch Rewards, such as:
Scanning receipts. When you purchase something, whether it be online or in-person, you can take a picture of your receipt with your cell phone and earn points. Every time you scan a receipt in the app, you will receive a minimum of 25 points.
Complete special offers. When you are logged into your Fetch Rewards account, you can see what products will give you the most points. As you can see in the image above, you simply just go to the Fetch Rewards App and go to the Discover tab. There, you will see what items will earn you the most points and extra points. Special offers can give you anywhere from 250 points to even over 5,000 points. New special offers are added almost every day too, so even if you don’t see something today, there may be something that interests you tomorrow. Now, you don’t have to look at the Discover page if you don’t want to – it’s simply just another way to earn more points. You can just use Fetch Rewards and scan your receipts without ever doing anything else in the Fetch Rewards app.
Refer friends and family. Sometimes, you can receive around 2,000 to 4,000 points by referring a new user. You can simply head to the Refer A Friend tab in the Fetch Rewards app to find your referral code.
Joining the Huggies Rewards+ Club.If you use Huggies diapers, you can earn up to 50,000 points by simply purchasing certain Huggies items, such as Huggies Diapers or Huggies Little Movers. Plus, you can get Huggies special offers points as well which are quite high as well.
Save on prescriptions. With Fetch, you can also save on your prescriptions. GoodRx is a free prescription price comparison tool that anyone can use. Simply head to your “Me” tab and click on GoodRx. You can then show this card when paying for prescriptions. You’ll get 10,000 points on your first prescription purchase, and then 1,500 points for future purchases and refills.
For me, I mainly just scan my receipts and refer others to Fetch Rewards. But if I wanted to earn more, there are several other great ways to increase the amount of rewards points that I can earn.
How many points equal a dollar on Fetch?
On average, 1,000 points equals $1 in rewards.
10,000 points is equivalent to around $10.
How do I redeem a free gift card from Fetch Rewards?
To redeem a Fetch reward, you will simply go to your Fetch account, and look at the bottom of the app. Look for the Rewards tab and tap on that.
Here, you will see what you can use your points on, such as:
Gift cards up to $50
Sweepstakes entries
Charitable organizations
Fetch merchandise, such as t-shirts
Then, you click on the button that shows how many points you want to use.
Next, you click on the orange button that says “Get My Reward” at the bottom.
You will then be asked to confirm that this is what you would like to do. It typically takes around three days to process your redemption request.
Once your reward is ready, you will get a notification. You can then go to your Rewards tab, then click on “My Rewards” to find your reward. Here, you will see your gift card code so that you can redeem your gift card at the company that you have chosen.
What’s the Fetch bonus code?
Fetch Rewards does not currently have an active bonus code. But, once they do, I will update this and let you know.
What is the catch with Fetch Rewards? How does Fetch Rewards make money? What does Fetch Rewards do with your receipts?
These are all great questions, and they are definitely things I want to cover in this Fetch Rewards review.
Fetch Rewards is so easy to use, but what’s in it for them? Why do they give out rewards and free gift cards just for scanning your receipts?
Fetch Rewards is paying you for the data they get from your receipt. They don’t see your name or other private or personal information. Instead, they are observing trends in shopper behavior. They then use this information to help their partners better understand their customer’s shopping habits.
Fetch Rewards also makes money by finding good deals for those who are signed up for Fetch Rewards. The Special Offers section in the Fetch Rewards app is an area where companies pay to be featured in this list, sort of like an advertisement. Companies know that they can get a lot of people looking at their company in the Fetch Rewards app, so they pay Fetch Rewards for this advertisement.
Is Fetch Rewards safe?
Yes, Fetch Rewards is safe to use.
They go through many steps to protect your personal information, and all of the data that they collect is anonymized and aggregated with everyone else’s, so your personal information is never shown.
Also, your receipts only show the last five digits of your credit card number, so you don’t have to worry about that being shared either because Fetch can’t see it.
Do my Fetch Rewards points expire?
If your Fetch Rewards account is not used for 90 days, then your points will expire. Your account will receive inactive status if you haven’t submitted any receipts or redeemed any rewards in a 90-day period.
This means that you just simply need to scan a receipt or redeem your Fetch points so your points never expire. If you get in the habit of scanning your receipts every time you shop, you shouldn’t have a problem with expiring points.
It’s very easy to stay active as pretty much everyone spends money in a 90-day period.
Is Ibotta or Fetch better?
Fetch Rewards and Ibotta are very similar.
Fetch Rewards is a little easier to use than Ibotta because all you need to do is scan your receipt into the Fetch Rewards app, and then you are done. With Ibotta, it’s more like clipping coupons and takes a little more time, but you may be able to earn a little more with Ibotta.
The great thing is that you can use the same exact grocery receipt for both Fetch and Ibotta. So if you have the time, you can try using both to earn even more rewards and free gift cards. This will allow you to increase your earnings by doing very little extra work.
Here’s how Ibotta works:
With Ibotta, you simply create an Ibotta account, unlock rebates and rewards, go shopping, verify your purchases, and then get cash.
You can redeem rebates from over hundreds of stores, such as Walmart, Target, Kroger, Publix, Walgreens, Home Depot, Old Navy, Chewy, and more.
You can also earn cash back online and in-store with Ibotta.
Ibotta is one of the easiest money making apps because you’re making money shopping like you normally do. They pay in cash or gift cards to Amazon, Starbucks, and other stores.
Is Fetch legit? – Fetch Rewards Reviews
Yes, Fetch Rewards is legitimate.
I looked through other online Fetch app reviews and found it’s rated 4.8/5 in the App Store with over 2,600,000 ratings.
In the Google Play store, the average Fetch app review is 4.6/5 stars with over 475,000 reviews on Fetch rewards and over 10,000,000 downloads.
You can see even more Fetch Rewards reviews on Trustpilot.
How do I contact Fetch Rewards?
If you have any questions or concerns with Fetch Rewards, you can contact them at [email protected].
You can also go to your app, click on the “Me” tab on the bottom, then click on “Help Center,” then “Contact Us.”
Here’s a screenshot of my Fetch Rewards Account. In 2 months, I have earned 55,566 points, which is equal to a little over $50 in free gift cards.
My Fetch Rewards Review
I hope you enjoyed my Fetch Rewards review. I have been using it for several months now and it is very easy to use.
Fetch Rewards rewards shoppers for shopping at their local supermarket and other popular retailers.
With Fetch Rewards, you can start earnings points by submitting both physical receipts and e-receipts so that you can turn your points into Amazon gift cards, Visa gift cards, and more. There’s no coupon clipping and it is very easy to use.
Simply just upload receipts that you have and earn Fetch Rewards points.
You can upload receipts from retailers such as Target, Walmart, Costco, Publix, Kroger, Walgreens, Home Depot, and more. Small stores, big stores, and everything in between.
This is a must-have shopping app that will help you to save more money, without spending a lot of extra time or effort on your end.
You can sign up for Fetch Rewards here.
Do you use Fetch Rewards? What other questions do you have for this Fetch Rewards review?
Driving for a ridesharing app like Uber or Lyft or a food delivery app like DoorDash or Instacart. Working as a writer or graphic designer for hire. Teaching English online in your spare time. These are among the most popular side gigs and freelance opportunities for people looking to earn extra income.
These solopreneurs count as self-employed individuals — small-business owners, technically — and are typically eligible for many small-business credit cards. This is true even for those with no plans to turn their side business into a full-time enterprise.
What follows is a list of the best credit cards for freelancers and side hustlers hoping to earn rewards for business-related purchases and raise their business credit score in the process.
Best Credit Cards for Freelancers & Side Hustles
The best small-business credit cards for freelancers, sole proprietors, and side hustlers pair modest annual fees — if they have annual fees at all — with generous rewards programs whose bonus categories favor general spending or a broad range of everyday business expenses.
Many also have attractive sign-up bonuses — also known as welcome offers, welcome bonuses, or early spend bonuses, depending on the issuer. And all accept personal guarantees from applicants, which means you can apply using your personal credit score. This is very useful if you don’t have any business credit history (or you haven’t formally incorporated your freelance business at all).

Capital One Spark Cash Plus is a premium business cash-back card that’s ideal for prosperous freelancers and side hustlers. It boasts a category-leading early spend bonus (worth up to $1,000 bonus cash) and a super-generous rewards program that earns a flat, unlimited 2% back on most eligible purchases.
The $150 annual fee is the biggest downside. A $200 bonus cash offer for big spenders — after spending at least $200,000 in a year — more than offsets it, though most freelancers probably won’t get there.

The Capital One® Spark® Miles for Business card is similar to Spark Cash for Business.
The main difference: It has a mileage-based rewards program that’s great for travelers who’d prefer to redeem for credit against eligible travel purchases rather than general statement credits. It’s a travel rewards credit card, in other words.
The rewards program is basically the same though. You earn unlimited 2x miles on most eligible purchases, with no spending caps or categories. The only exception: travel bookings made through Capital One Travel, which earn 5x miles.

Methodology: How We Choose the Best Credit Cards for Freelancers & Side Hustlers
If you’re a freelancer or sole proprietor in the market for a credit card to cover professional expenses, you need to consider many of the same factors owners of (slightly) larger enterprises do when shopping for small-business credit cards. These are the most important criteria that we use to separate the best freelancer-friendly credit cards from the rest.
Personal Guarantee Requirement
Many freelancers and side hustlers aren’t formally incorporated and have no desire to be. Because they have no “business” in the technical sense, they have no business credit. They can’t get approved for business credit cards that don’t accept personal guarantees.
For this reason, a missing personal guarantee requirement is a deal-breaker. All the cards on this list accept personal guarantees or offer ways around them, like guarantees based entirely on business revenue rather than credit.
Credit & Income Qualification Requirements
Most credit card issuers require applicants to back up their personal guarantee (or business guarantee) by meeting certain credit and income standards. For premium business credit cards, these standards can be high — effectively out of reach of the typical freelancer or side hustler.
So we look for freelancer-friendly credit cards with more relaxed qualification standards. Most of the credit cards on this list set minimum FICO scores near 700, but they’re not as picky as top-shelf business cards and don’t ask applicants to prove they’re pulling in tens of thousands of dollars a month on top of that.
Rewards Program
Every card on this list has an above-average rewards program. When evaluating these programs, we look for cards that do one of two things:
Earn higher returns on common business purchases, such as office supplies and telecommunications
Earn an above-average flat rate of return (1.5% or above) on most or all eligible purchases
We rule out cards that only earn rewards on certain purchases or ask you to jump through too many hoops (like activating your cash back before each purchase).
Welcome Offers for New Cardholders
Most of the cards on this list have spending-based welcome offers (aka sign-up bonuses) that increase their rewards programs’ appeal. We intentionally exclude cards with uncomfortably high spending requirements — a $3,000-per-month pace or above. The remaining offers’ spending requirements are realistic for many if not most freelancers.
Other Business Benefits
Freelancers have less use for common business credit card benefits like Amazon Web Services credits and Salesforce integrations, but all else being equal, we prefer cards that offer the option. And some business credit card benefits are legitimately freelancer-friendly, like discounts on popular bookkeeping software.
Interest Rate & Introductory APR Promotions
We don’t advise anyone to carry a credit card balance if they can avoid it, but business owners — including sole proprietors — sometimes have no other option. With that in mind, we look for freelancer-friendly cards with low ongoing interest rates and long 0% APR introductory promotions.
Annual Fee
All else being equal, we prefer professional credit cards without annual fees. However, committed freelancers can offset more modest annual fees (under $100) without too much trouble, so this list isn’t entirely annual-fee-free.
Credit Card FAQs for Freelancers & Side Hustlers
Finding and applying for a freelancer-friendly credit card isn’t too much different from the process for consumer cards. Once in your hands, these cards work more or less the same as consumer cards too. But if it’s your first time, you might still have questions as you work through the process.
Do You Need to Incorporate to Get a Professional Credit Card?
Not necessarily. Freelancer-friendly credit cards generally don’t ask applicants to prove they’ve formally incorporated their business. This is a good thing for part-time freelancers who don’t want the headache (and added cost) of managing a legal business entity.
By contrast, some small-business credit cards do require formal incorporation. Those cards don’t make this list.
How Much Can You Spend on a Professional Credit Card?
It depends on two factors: whether the card has a preset spending limit, and if so, the limit’s dollar value.
Some business credit cards have no preset spending limits, including some we consider freelancer-friendly. To prevent runaway spending, these cards usually have a pay-in-full requirement, so you can’t charge more than you can afford to repay (for long, anyway). If your freelance business is thriving, these no-limit, pay-in-full cards usually offer better spending power.
Other business credit cards base spending limits on revenue. This is more common for cards that underwrite based on business credit, but if you’ve been freelancing for a while and can show consistent income, you might qualify for a generous credit limit without a business credit score.
Do Freelancer-Friendly Credit Cards Allow Personal Guarantees?
They should if they want to be on this list. Some freelancers have incorporated business entities of their own, but many don’t. This means they can’t get a business credit card that doesn’t accept personal guarantees.
Does Your Professional Credit Card Affect Your Personal Credit Score?
If you qualified using your personal credit and income, yes.
This effect can be positive, negative, or both at different times. If you use your professional credit card responsibly, your personal credit score could increase over time. If you bump up against your credit limit or miss payments on your professional credit card, your personal credit score could suffer.
What’s a Good Annual Fee for a Professional Credit Card?
The most freelancer-friendly credit cards waive annual fees altogether. However, cards with unusually generous rewards programs or perks generally charge annual fees. If you spend enough to offset these fees by earning rewards and net more than you would have with a no-annual-fee alternative, it’s worth the cost.
Final Word
Because freelancers and side hustlers are eligible for many credit cards traditionally marketed to small-business owners with employees or contractors on the payroll, this list overlaps considerably with our overall list of the best credit cards for small-business owners.
The lists aren’t identical, however.
Some of the top cards for small businesses, such as the Chase Ink Business Preferred Credit Card and the Amex Business Platinum Card, aren’t ideal for part-time entrepreneurship or freelance work due to some combination of high annual fees, strict credit underwriting requirements, and welcome offers that require heavier spending than most side hustlers can manage.
That’s not to say those cards don’t appeal to unusually prolific side hustlers.
If you’re fortunate enough to be able to scale your side business into a full-time enterprise with a balance sheet to match, you might find yourself in search of a credit card with a credit limit to meet your spending needs. When that day comes, you’ll be only too happy to trade up.

Not every apartment community will let you have a grill, but if they do, how do you pick the right one?
Grilling is a great way to prepare delicious and easy meals for everyone from big groups or just you and your roommate. However, you can only have a grill in your apartment if your lease allows it. So, after checking you have the green light, it’s time to think about what type of grill you want.
There are certain features to consider like size, portability, cost and whether you’ll use propane or charcoal. There are even electric grills if grill safety is a major concern.
Don’t stress over this decision though. These suggestions should get you thinking in the right direction, so you’ll be out grilling up something wonderful in no time.
Propane (gas) grills
Using a propane tank you can easily get at the grocery store, hardware store or even some gas stations, these grills are well-liked because of their ability to apply consistent heat. You can more easily maintain a constant temperature, and the grill will heat evenly.
1. Char-Broil Performance Series 2-Burner Grill
Designed for the busy chef, who doesn’t want a propane tank hanging out on their balcony, this grill comes complete with an underside cabinet for the gas and two metal side shelves. The shelves fold down when you’re not using them, but make a great place to keep grilling tools and that big platter to hold all the food while you’re cooking. Even with its compact size, you’ve got enough space on here to cook up to 16 burgers.
2. Fuego Element F21C
When you need a gas grill with a small footprint, this is your guy. About the width of the propane tank that’s hiding in its cabinet below, this grill gives you a smaller, rotund cooking surface. It may feel smaller than more traditionally styled gas grills, but you can still get enough food for four people on here. And, it looks really cool.
3. Weber Spirit II E-210
This grill is a favorite among many apartment dwellers. Its two burners provide enough surface area to cook a lot of food, and the two collapsable shelves provide extra prep space right beside the grill. With a tool holder and warming rack, it’s a complete package. The base model does not have a propane tank storage cabinet, but if you can pay a little more, you can hide it away underneath.
Charcoal grills
The biggest argument for those who are Team Charcoal, when it comes to grills, is taste. For them, the best grills for apartments, or anywhere, add that smoky flavor to all food prepared on them. It’s also easier to find charcoal grills that are small and compact, perfect for an apartment dweller who’s allowed to have one.
4. Weber Original Kettle Charcoal Grill
When you picture yourself grilling over hot coals, you most likely imagine yourself standing beside a kettle grill. This shape is indicative of some of the best grills for apartments whether you’re cooking on a balcony or up on the roof. It’s easy to move and doesn’t take up a lot of space. With a small drum, it’s also easy to clean.
5. Kamodo Joe Portable Charcoal Grill
Another grill with high portability, this little guy looks like a Big Green Egg, only it’s red. Made with cast iron accents, this grill has nice thick walls that help lock in smoke and keep your food moist while it cooks. Complete with its own stand, you can easily bring this grill out from the corner of your balcony to make it the centerpiece of your al fresco barbecue.
Another kettle grill, but with a hinged lid, this is a bit of an upgrade from the traditional design. The lid stays attached when you pop it open to check in your food. You don’t have to hold it while you flip those burgers or worry about setting it down while it’s hot. The TRU-Infrared technology helps prevents charcoal flare-ups and maintains an even heat.
Electric grills
For those who struggle with having a grill and following the rules on your lease, consider an electric option. You may need to run an extension cord out to your balcony, but there’s no charcoal flame or smoke to worry about and no flammable gas in use. Electric grills are also a healthier way to cook since they don’t produce carcinogens that can get into the food.
Another benefit is the variety of sizes this particular type of grill comes in. You can get a tiny one that sits on your counter or a larger set-up that will look great outdoors. They’re easy to use, heat up fast and often cost less, but the flavor will definitely be different.
7. Char-Broil TRU-Infrared Patio Bistro Electric Grill
Looking like any outdoor grill, with an easy-to-move base and rounded cook space, this fire-engine-red grill simply needs to get plugged into power. With a small footprint, this easy-to-clean electric grill has rust-resistant cooking grates and heating technology that makes for more evenly cooked food. Flipping open the lid, the only way to tell you’re not working with a traditional grill is to look under the grate. There, you’ll see a heating element that looks more like an electric stove burner than anything else.
How to decide which grill is right for you
Assuming you have no restrictions on what type of grill you use, it really all comes down to taste. Each type of grill will produce food with its own flavor. If you want food with a smokier flavor, charcoal has you covered. If you want moist food with deep grill marks, go for propane. Food cooked on gas grills will still have that outside char that only comes from this particular style of cooking.
If you want to cook outside, but it’s okay if what you eat tastes more like it came from the oven or stove, electric works. They’re also great for preparing a grilled meal indoors. You’ll still know you’re eating grilled food, but the fully developed flavor just won’t be there.
If you do have grilling restrictions, make sure you talk to your landlord. Even if you’re within the rules of the lease to use an electric grill, get approval for the type you want. Sometimes, landlords won’t allow electric grills that look too much like a traditional grill, at the risk of confusing other tenants into thinking they can have any kind of grill they want.
It’s grilling time
You’ve done your research and reviewed your lease. There’s nothing left to do but transform your balcony or rooftop into a happening outdoor party, complete with deliciously grilled food. Enjoy!

Some traditional banks still offer truly free checking accounts, but it gets more difficult every year to find one. More often, you have to jump through annoying hoops to get those monthly maintenance fees waived.
Good thing traditional banks — and tradition-minded online banks — aren’t the only game in town anymore. Dozens of fintech apps like Current have stepped up in recent years to offer banking services for free with no strings attached.
What Is the Current App?
Current is a financial technology app that offers basic banking services through Choice Financial Group, member FDIC. It offers a checking account with a Visa debit card that earns rewards on select purchases and connected savings accounts that earn variable interest.
Current charges no monthly maintenance fee and has no minimum balance requirements. Notable banking features include early direct deposit with qualifying payers, optional overdraft protection, a broad fee-free ATM network, and mobile check deposit.
Current also has a crypto investing platform, but it’s totally optional to use and you don’t have to keep any of your funds in crypto if you don’t want to.
What Sets Current Apart?
Current has several features that distinguish it from other bank accounts and fintech apps:
Open to kids as young as 13. You can open a Current account as soon as you turn 13, though teen accounts only work when connected to a parent account, meaning a Current account owned by someone 18 or older.
Generous rewards on eligible purchases. You can earn up to 7x rewards on eligible debit card purchases with Current. That’s far more generous than most rewards debit cards, though not all spending earns rewards.
Competitive yield on eligible balances. Current offers an impressive yield on eligible savings: 4.00% APY on Savings Pods balances up to $2,000 in each pod. You can have up to three Savings Pods, for a total of up to $6,000 in interest-bearing balances across all pods.
No gas holds. Current automatically and immediately removes debit card holds placed by gas stations. These holds lower your available balance, which can be a big problem if you have little or no buffer in your account.
Key Features of Current
Current is basically a mobile-friendly checking and savings account package with a crypto investing platform attached. Overall, it works like any other online bank account, but it has a few features that set it apart.
Earning Rewards on Debit Card Purchases
Eligible debit card purchases earn rewards through the Current Points program. However, you don’t earn points on as many purchases as you would with a typical credit card.. According to Current, about 14,000 locations participate.
You can find eligible Current Points locations using the app’s rewards map. For each location, the map shows how many points you can earn per $1 spent — as little as 1x or as much as 7x, depending on the merchant. You have to activate each offer to earn points, which adds a step to the process but is easy enough to do in the app.
You can redeem points for cash or credits against future Current purchases. There’s no limit to how many points you can earn overall.
Early Direct Deposit
Eligible private direct deposits hit Current accounts up to two days early. Most private employers qualify. If you receive government benefits by direct deposit, your funds may come up to four days early.
Savings Pods & Interest on Savings Balances
You can set up as many as three savings subaccounts within your Current account. Known as Savings Pods, these are goal- or purpose-driven buckets that keep your funds separate as you work toward specific future plans.
Savings Pod balances earn 4.00% APY on the first $2,000 in each pod. That means you can earn interest on up to $6,000 in your Savings Pods.
You can save faster by taking advantage of Current’s Round-Ups feature. After you opt in, this automatically rounds up each debit card purchase to the nearest dollar and deposits the difference in a designated pod.
Overdraft Protection (Overdrive)
Current offers fee-free overdraft protection on checking balances through its Overdrive feature. You must set up direct deposit to qualify, then opt in — protection isn’t automatic.
Overdrive protection tops out at $25 to start, meaning Current allows transactions that would result in negative balances as large as $25. It ranges up to $200 per instance based on Current’s assessment of your risk of nonpayment. Generally, your limit increases over time, but Current has no set schedule for increases.
ATM Access
Current has a network of more than 40,000 fee-free ATMs. ATM withdrawals outside this network may still incur surcharges Current can’t control.
Gas Hold Removal
If you use your Current debit card at a gas station that normally puts a hold on the account until the transaction settles, Current removes it with no action needed on your end. That frees up any cash that would have been tied up by the hold — up to $50 in many cases.
Spending Insights
Current’s Spending Insights feature helps you track your spending and saving patterns over time. Based on your activity, Current may suggest positive changes that can free up room in your budget or increase your savings pace.
Mobile Features
Current is a mobile-friendly app. Notable mobile capabilities include:
Fee-free mobile check deposit
Instant transfers to external bank accounts and linked Current accounts, including teen accounts
Chore assignments with custom payment amounts for linked teen accounts
Real-time notifications when a teen user swipes their debit card
Customizable spending controls for teen accounts, including the ability to block specific merchants or merchant categories
Crypto Investing
Current has a built-in crypto investing platform where you can buy and sell popular coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum. It’s only available for adult accounts at the moment. And crypto pricing is extremely volatile, so be cautious if you choose to use this feature, and never invest more than you can afford to lose.
Advantages of Current
Current ticks many of the boxes you’d hope an entry-level checking and savings package would.
No monthly service charge. Current has no monthly service charge, regardless of your balance or transaction activity. It costs nothing to open and maintain your account.
Fee-free overdraft protection. Current’s Overdrive feature is a fee-free overdraft protection program that covers negative balances up to $200. Many fintech apps also have overdraft protection, but a fee-free option is rare.
Competitive interest rate on eligible balances. Current’s Savings Pod yields are on par with the best high-yield savings accounts on the market. Many fintech apps don’t pay interest at all, and those that do often can’t compete with top yields.
Early direct deposit with eligible payers. If your employer qualifies — and most do — you can get paid up to two days early with Current. That’s Wednesday instead of the usual Friday payday.
No need to wait until you’re 18 to open an account. Current is open to kids as young as 13 as long as they link their accounts to an adult account owned by someone 18 or older. With built-in chore and allowance features, it’s an ideal first bank account for older kids.
No gas holds. Current releases gas station holds as soon as the station imposes them. That can free up as much as $50 (and sometimes more) immediately without the customary two- to three-business-day wait.
Strict parental controls for teen accounts. Current’s parental monitoring and control features include real-time debit card transaction alerts, customizable payment blocks on merchants or transaction categories, and a chore management interface that lets you assign chores and then mark them complete. If your teen is ready for more freedom and flexibility but still needs financial training wheels, Current has your family covered.
Disadvantages of Current
Current has some meaningful downsides, including a relatively low maximum balance to earn interest and significant limits on the rewards program.
Many Current purchases don’t earn rewards. Current only earns rewards on certain debit card purchases. To find participating merchants and see how much you can earn at each, you need to use the Current Points map. That adds time and friction to the process — and even with careful planning, Current can’t match the efficiency or earning potential of a general-purpose rewards credit card.
Must activate offers in the app to earn rewards. Current purchases don’t earn rewards automatically. You have to activate each opportunity in the app. While the app is user-friendly enough, that adds another step that’s easy to forget.
Only $6,000 in savings balances eligible to earn interest. Savings Pod balances only earn interest on the first $2,000, and you can only have three Savings Pods at once. That means the biggest balance you can earn interest on is $6,000.
How Current Stacks Up
Current isn’t the only mobile-friendly checking and savings solution on the market. Chime is a popular alternative — one that shows up in multiple product comparisons on Current’s website. So before you go to open an account with Current, see how the two stack up.

Final Word
Current has a number of advantages over traditional bank accounts, including no monthly service charge, fee-free overdraft protection, early payday with qualifying direct deposit, a potentially generous rewards program, and a very competitive savings yield. That makes it an ideal bank account for people who live paycheck to paycheck and younger folks transitioning into the workforce after finishing school.
It’s also useful for teens and their parents thanks to a teen-friendly account with parental monitoring and controls.
Current does have some drawbacks, though. Many purchases earn no rewards at all, and you need to activate offers before each transaction, which adds friction to the process. Current has a relatively low maximum balance to earn interest as well — just $6,000 across all eligible savings subaccounts.
For most would-be users, Current has more to like than dislike. But before you rush out to apply, make sure it fits your needs.
