Home decor and seasonal gift and decor importer The Gerson Companies has acquired the assets of Park Hill Collection, a product design and import company of home decor, candles, seasonal products and furniture.
Park Hill Collection was acquired for an undisclosed amount. Its addition to the 82-year-old Gerson Companies “significantly increases” the Kansas-based importer’s presence in the everyday home decor space, per a release.
“The acquisition will bring together two iconic brands in our industry with a shared passion of delivering new and creative product to retail.” said Jacob Gerson, vice president of sales and customer experience. “With the support of our capital base and operational expertise, we see a tremendous opportunity to evolve and grow the Park Hill brand and its appeal in the up-market home design space.”
Park Hill Collection – which will continue to operate under that name – is now wholly owned by The Gerson Companies. At this time, Gerson and JJ Hjalmarson, fourth generation members of the family-owned Gerson Companies, will serve as interim general managers of Park Hill Collection post-closing of the acquisition while the company conducts a national search to recruit and onboard a full-time general manager of the brand. Park Hill and its new general manager will be based out of the newly acquired brand’s existing offices and distribution center in Little Rock, Ark., and operate as an independent division of Gerson Companies.
“This acquisition marks the next step of our growth strategy into new markets of home décor and design,” added Hjalmarson, vice president of national accounts and ecommerce. “We look forward to onboarding Park Hill onto the Gerson Platform and equipping the phenomenal team and infrastructure already in place with the right resources to innovate and grow the brand to new heights while delivering the same quality of product that Park Hill customers expect.”
