Valuable new Delta credit card perk: 15% off award flights
Editor’s Note
This post has been updated with a link to our new master guide on using and maximizing the benefit.
There’s good news for both new and existing Delta SkyMiles American Express cardholders: A new card perk gets you at least a 15% discount on award redemptions on Delta flights.
Called the TakeOff 15 benefit, the latest perk is now available on most Delta Amex cobranded personal and business credit cards. It makes having or opening a Delta Amex credit card that much more valuable, especially for Delta Air Lines loyalists.
Here is an in-depth guide on how to use and maximize the benefit.
TakeOff 15 gives cardholders at least a 15% mileage discount when redeeming SkyMiles for Delta-operated award flights. Here are some of the terms and conditions:
- The discount only applies on Delta- and Delta Connection-operated flights; it’s not available on flights operated by other carriers.
- The discount does not apply to taxes and fees, and you must use your eligible Delta card to pay those taxes and fees.
- The discount is only available to primary cardholders (not authorized users).
- You must log in to your SkyMiles account and book through the Delta website or Delta app for the discount to apply.
- The benefit does not apply to Pay with Miles or Miles + Cash rates, seat upgrades made after the purchase of flights, or other Delta products or services.
Here’s a list of qualifying personal and business credit cards that now come with a 15% discount on award redemptions:
Bottom line
This new benefit is a win for current and prospective Delta SkyMiles Amex cardholders alike, as you can now enjoy 15% off Delta-operated award tickets. Don’t have a Delta Amex credit card yet? Find out more about each of these cards.
