Most Curated is a monthly series in which one editor, team member or friend of Livingetc will share the top 15 items on their current wish list.
I don’t know if it’s the abundance of tinsel and velvet ribbons I’m seeing all over social media this holiday season, but I’ve never felt more in tune with decorative trends than I have this year. In a season built on tradition, things are bound to feel redundant: décor, food, and even gifts. But this year, I’m inspired by all the creativity I’m seeing, so I’m pushing myself to color outside the lines when it comes to home décor and gifting. What you’ll find below is a curation of items that sparked joy for me while I was online shopping this month. For a personalized gift, you have to shop the monogrammed frames below. For holiday meal prep, this Jenni Kayne x Staub collab is just perfection. And if you’ve got a dinner party invitation, I suggest showing up with the Flamingo Estate Garden box as a gift for the host. Keep scrolling to shop these cool finds and even more favorites below.

We’re now well and truly into fall, with festivities in full swing, which signifies perhaps our favorite part of this time of year: cozy home decor. While naturally, there are obvious changes to your home you’ll no doubt make each year to increase the warmth as we spend more evenings indoors, we’re taking inspiration from Nate Berkus’ very own fall decor ideas.
Taking to Instagram, the interior design master shared a video in which he talks through two changes he makes to ensure his home is ready for the colder months ahead, and as expected, they’re not only practical but of course endlessly stylish.
home decor ideas, which are incredibly easy to recreate yourself. Perhaps the best part – you can take these ideas and make them your own with your preferred decor style.
1. Swap fresh florals for fall-inspired foliage
Nate’s first fall decor rule is to swap summertime florals with more winter-appropriate foliage. ‘The flowers and the branches and the things that we have throughout our home turn to something a little bit richer… a little bit warmer. In the summertime, it’s usually whites and brights, and now they’re like leaves that are changing.’
‘I love bringing the outside in and this is the way to do it,’ he continues. There are endless fall foliage decorating ideas to embrace, from decorative garlands to a simple arrangement in a vase of dried seasonal plants. This time of year is perfect for bringing in rich, autumnal colors such as deep orange and red hues. For a more subtle look, opt for classic green foliage which will promote a classic style that looks festive for all of your Christmas foliage ideas.
2. Refresh bedding with a layered look
‘The second thing that we do, when fall comes, is that our beds get layered,’ explains Nate. ‘The kids get extra blankets; we get extra blankets. Maybe I’ll throw in a highly textured pillow… I just like the idea of home feeling warm, all the time. But especially when it’s fall.’
This decor idea is essential for this time of year. Not only does layering bedding add much-needed warmth for colder nights, but the visual effect it has can be endlessly stylish. You can incorporate whichever type of textiles you’re most drawn to, but for a cohesive look, try and establish one color palette and opt for different variations of one color family when layering bedding. You can then mix lots of different textures, such as boucle cushions, and a velvet throw, to create an eclectic look that looks endlessly cozy.
Below, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite winter-appropriate bedding items to help you create a similar fall bedding trend; they’re not only cozy but stylish too.
McGee & Co. Gabriella Block Print Quilt
Anthropologie Plush Crushed Velvet Quilted Shams, Set of 2
McGee & Co. Hadlee Boucle Throw
For the colder months that lie ahead, we have lots more winter decor ideas to give you some inspiration to ensure your home is as cozy as possible; from warming scents to decorating with color.

As someone who grew up in a small town with the closest mall almost an hour away, I didn’t discover Anthropologie until later in life (probably a good thing for my wallet TBH). But don’t worry, I’ve made up for lost time by purchasing every home, beauty, and clothing item I can afford and mentally adding the entire kitchen section to my non-existent wedding registry. What? A girl can dream.
As much as I love Anthropologie, however, I don’t always love their prices. So when I want to get a similar look at a more affordable price, I turn to Amazon. You might be surprised by how much Anthropologie-inspired home decor—ranging from pillows and throws to kitchen and dining items—you can find on Amazon for a fraction of the price. That’s right, you no longer have to shop in the sale section or break the bank to decorate your home in Anthro’s signature boho-inspired style. Keep scrolling for some of my favorite Amazon home decor finds that give you the same look for less (and two-day shipping!).
Decor & Lighting
Antique Gold Wall Mirror
The Gleaming Primrose Mirror is one of Anthropologie’s most viral products and for good reason. The vintage-inspired design and intricate details make it a beautiful addition to any room, but starting at $548, it’ll cost you a pretty penny. There are several similar designs out there, but none are quite as good as this option from Amazon. The details and color options are nearly identical to Anthropologie’s but at less than half the cost.
Grecian Bust Candle
Grecian busts have been a popular motif at Anthropologie for a while now, mostly in the form of their Grecian Bust Pot. These pots work beautifully as planters or vases, but if you don’t have a green thumb, you may want to opt for this Grecian bust-inspired candle from Amazon instead.
Faux Fur Throw Blanket
Every winter, Anthropologie brings out their line of ultra-plush faux fur throw blankets. Not only are they a great item to give for the holidays, but they also make any room feel extra cozy. However, most of their throws cost well over $100, which is a little steep if you’re buying them for multiple people or more than one room in your home. Thankfully, Amazon has this similar version for half the price.
4 colors available
Woven Pendant Lamp
In the words of Chandler Bing, could this BE any more beautiful? The woven details make this pendant look so luxe that no one would believe it’s only $140. Bonus: natural materials like wicker, rattan, and cane are popular right now thanks to the “tropicalcore” trend, and this light fixture is the perfect addition to bring some vacation vibes into your home.
Velvet Throw Pillow Covers
Soft velvet and bold colors are hallmarks of Anthropologie textiles, so these pillow covers fit right in with the brand’s eclectic style. While these covers don’t come with pillow inserts like they would at Anthropologie, you do get a set of four for only $32, which is a steal.
10 colors available
Brass Snail Figurine
One of my favorite things about Anthropologie is their selection of small but impactful decor pieces. I actually saw a snail figurine similar to this one at Anthro several years ago, and I’ve been kicking myself ever since for not buying it, so I’m glad to see a similar version available on Amazon. These snails would look absolutely adorable styled on a shelf or as paperweights on your desk.
Floral Flush Mount Light Fixture
With feminine, delicate details, this light fixture looks like something straight out of an Anthropologie catalog. Imagine it hanging in an elegant entryway, a stylish bathroom, or airy guest room. The best part? It’s less than $60.
Tufted Runner
Something I’ll never understand is why rugs are so expensive. Even the smallest size can cost hundreds of dollars, but this Amazon runner gives the Anthropologie look for much, much less. At less than $40, I’ll definitely be adding this to cart for my kitchen.
5 colors available
Boho Tufted Accent Pillow Cover
Add some texture to your couch or bed with this Moroccan-style throw pillow cover. Handwoven tufted accents give the cover a sophisticated look, and the thick and durable fabric give it a high-quality feel.
Wooden Bowl Centerpiece
If a hand-carved wooden bowl doesn’t scream boho-chic, I’m not sure what does. Pieces like this are great to have around the house for a variety of purposes. Style it on a coffee table with a candle and coasters, use it was a fruit bowl in the kitchen, or keep it by the front door as a catchall for your wallet and keys.
Woven Blanket
Woven blankets are another boho-style staple, and the colors and tassels on this one are what dreams are made of. Its lighter-weight fabric also makes this one easy to style over a chair or at the end of a bed.
10+ colors available
Kitchen & Dining
Fluted Ceramic Bowl
Another one of my personal favorite Anthropologie items is their Amelie Latte Bowls. I use mine almost daily to serve meals or to hold ingredients while cooking, and I love the French-inspired look of them. While these bowls aren’t that expensive in store, there is a slightly cheaper alternative available on Amazon for those who love a good deal.
4 colors available
Ceramic Berry Baskets
With the grandmillennial trend still going strong, quirky, vintage-inspired pieces like these berry bowls are especially popular. Not only are they functional in helping you keep your fridge more organized, but they also add a fun whimsical touch to your kitchen.
3 colors available
Candles & Candlesticks
Twisted Candle Sticks
For a trendy take on the classic taper look, try these twisted candles. They come in tons of different colors, so grab a four-pack of your favorite shade to re-create Anthropologie’s funky style for less.
10+ colors available
Ribbed Glass Candle Holders
These ribbed glass candlestick holders are a mix of boho and vintage, making them a beautiful addition to any tablescape. Each set comes with six candle holders in three different sizes and styles. Pro tip: mix and match the colors to create a more customized look.
4 colors available
Candle Warmer Lamp
I’ve seen so many gals on TikTok showing off their candle warmer lamps as part of their nighttime routines, and you can consider me influenced. I love the quirky look of the scalloped shade paired with the vintage look of the brass and wood base. And at just $20, this is an affordable way to create a cozy atmosphere for fall.
2 colors available
Rose Quartz Coasters
Anthropologie’s Gilded Agate Coasters are another one of their signature items. I have these in almost every room of my house and often give them as housewarming or Christmas presents. Although the coasters are stunning, they’re a little pricey at $16 a piece, which is why I was excited to find that Amazon sells this set of four natural gemstone coasters for only $40.
Monogram Mug
If you’re unfamiliar with the mug section at Anthropologie, I encourage you to run not walk to check them out. They have a fun selection of monogrammed, floral, and geometric options, but if you’re looking for a more affordable alternative, this mug gives Anthro vibes at an Amazon price.
Lidded Glass Jar Candle
Anthropologie is famous for their candle section, and this glass jar candle looks just like something you’d find in-store. It comes in a variety of colors and scents, but the best part is that it’s paraben- and paraffin-free.

October is officially one week away, making this week the best time to shop for and refresh your space with Halloween decor. Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Target, IKEA, and West Elm all have some of the most fun and viral Halloween decoration ideas, but my absolute favorite place to find stylish and spooky home decor items is at JOANN. Not only does JOANN have some of the most festive, spooky season home decor, but it also has amazing prices, with sales starting super early in the season.
With JOANN’s current Lowest Prices of the Season sale, you can get between 50 and 60 percent off fall and JOANN Halloween decor, just in time for trick-or-treaters. Plus, this week’s JOANN coupons include a $1.99 shipping perk with promo code SHIP199SAVE at checkout.
Find out more about how we test.
The market is awash with Halloween pieces at the moment and at this time of year you rarely find them on sale. Halloween pieces at competitors can be incredibly expensive for decor that you’ll only use once a year, so it’s smart to find finishing touches on markdown. What I particularly like about JOANN’s selection is that a lot of these pieces are made with iron instead of plastic, so they should hold up for years, saving you even more in the long run.
Place & Time Halloween Metal Moon Phase Candle Holder
Candlesticks are one of the biggest home decor trends of the season, and this moon phase option puts a spooky spin on the style. Constructed from 100 percent iron, this candle holder of moon phases is heavy-duty and built to last for seasons to come. It would look so cute on a tablescape with the viral DIY ghost candle from TikTok or added to a spooky fireplace display with flameless taper candles.
Place & Time Halloween LED Haunted House
Illuminate your mantle or bookshelf with this adorable Halloween LED Haunted House from JOANN’s Place & Time Crypts and Cobwebs collection. This haunted house is constructed from a durable mix of stone powder and resin, giving it a ceramic-like finish. We love it on its own on an entry table next to a tablescape of pumpkins and gourds or paired with other haunted houses from the JOANN collection.
Place & Time Halloween Metal Spider Bowl
Whether you’re shopping for a Halloween candy dish or are looking for unique serving dishes for an upcoming spooky party, the Halloween Metal Spider Bowl is another fantastic spooky addition to your Halloween decor. This 9-inch bowl features long, creepy crawly legs and a full spider body and head with plenty of room for candy corn, pub mix, popcorn, and other Halloween snacks.
Place & Time Halloween Black Metal Bats Wall Accent
If you want to deck out your walls for Halloween but are looking for something slightly more elevated than your traditional party decor, this chic Black Metal Bats Wall Accent from Place & Time is worth considering (and its sale price makes it a definite add to cart). The durable Halloween wall decor is constructed from 100 percent iron and would look spooktacular placed above a fireplace mantle, entryway wall, or even outdoors in a patio area.
Place & Time Halloween Orange Pumpkin & Ball Felt Garland
Autumn means festive garland, starting with this craftcore style felt garland featuring plush orange pumpkins. This 6-inch long garland is a fun and whimsical way to dress up your home for the spooky season and would look great placed along a mantle, wrapped around a wreath, or added to a children’s room bookshelf.
Place & Time Halloween Figural Ghost Pillow
If you love the viral Gus the Ghost pillow from Pottery Barn but are looking for a more budget-friendly option, consider the Halloween Figural Ghost Pillow from JOANN. This 14 x 17-inch ghost pillow is somewhat of a Pottery Barn dupe and features that same plush material and spooky spirit. It’s the perfect throw pillow for that living room accent chair, but it would also look adorable nestled up with other festive pillows on an entryway bench.
If JOANN’s sale items aren’t quite doing it for you, we’ve also covered the best places to buy Halloween decor so that you can welcome trick-or-treaters in style.

Moving home is such an exciting time. I am a bit of a moving addict actually, it comes with the territory of being a serial renter. I would get so excited about starting over with my interior design style, choosing new sheets, picking out new prints, and deciding what style of rug would suit my new place best.
And after years of moving, I have worked out what pieces are the most important. I have noticed what pieces come with from home to home, and what’s made it out of the rentals and finally into my own space with me.
interior trends, so it can be tricky investing in pieces for a new home that will stand the test of time. But as both a pro home mover and the Head of Design at Homes & Gardens, I feel equipped enough to share with you the new house decor buys I have never regretted buying. And yes, they are purely aesthetical decor, and of course, you want to be making practical investments like the best mattress, and good quality kitchen appliances too, but I think investing in decor is equally important when shopping for a new home.
What to buy for a new home
Moving into a new home can be a stressful time, so I do think it’s important to allow yourself to get a bit excited about investing in new timeless pieces and treating yourself to decor that’s going to instantly elevate your home and make the new space feel more like you.
Some of these buys are ones I think have longevity and will stay with you move after move, but I’ve also pieces I think are key to making a house feel like a home and for me are the first things I pull out of the boxes when I get to a new space.
West Elm Jute Boucle Rug
Anthropologie Gleaming Primrose Mirror
Case in point, the Anthropologie Gleaming Primrose Mirror. It lived leaning up against a wall in one of my apartments and it still worked.
Pom Pom At Home Chatham Cotton Matelasse Coverlet
I like that this set as it has a subtle texture to it, it adds interest without the need for color or a bold pattern. It would love wonderful layering up with both soft neutrals and brighter colors depending on the look you want to achieve.
Amber Lewis for Anthropologie Marana Table Lamp
CB2 White Picture Frame
Anthropologie Glenna Platter
A Table Full of Love by Sky McApline
Crate and Barrel Edge Drink Glasses
Diptyque Feu de Bois Candle
Diptyque candles instantly elevate a space, and when moving I always unpack them pretty quickly and dot them around surfaces to make the chaos feel slightly calmer and more sophisticated. Diptyque’s ‘Feu de Bois’ is ideal for this time of year, smokey and woodsy and delicious.
So there is my list of new home buys I think are essential. A mix of both investment pieces that every new home should have, and small items that you should treat yourself to to instantly make your space feel more like home. I will say when moving into a new home, do spend a bit of time in the space before buying anything new, the pieces I don’t regret buying are ones I have mulled over, or have had a vision that I know I will love for years to come, not just panic bought because something is on trend or because I am desperate to fill a blank space.

Anthropologie and Erin Fetherston have joined forces to launch a home decor and apparel collaboration for fall 2023. The collaboration will be sold exclusively on Anthropologie’s website beginning Aug. 10.
Known for her romantic aesthetic and creating bright and airy spaces, the Los Angeles-based Fetherston is collaborating on a line of furniture, lighting, textiles, candles and decorative accents. There are 25 home products and six dresses in total. Pieces range from $34 for a candle to $3,498 for an upholstered sofa. Dresses retail from $160 to $220.
Aaron Mutscheller, president of Anthropologie Living and Terrain, said he was excited to introduce Fetherston’s “feminine and modern point of view to our Anthropologie community.”
“When we think about what makes our Anthropologie Living business great, we realize a big piece of that puzzle is our exclusive partnerships with exceptional talent, and Erin is just that. She so seamlessly translated her ethereal aesthetic to her first robust interiors collection, ensuring delicate yet impactful details were woven into every piece. As always, we were committed to making the collection approachable with fairly priced items so that everyone who shops with us feels like they can collect items that are emblematic of Erin’s innate charm,” said Mutscheller.
“Working with Anthropologie was a dream come true,” Fetherston told WWD. “Our brands have aesthetic affinity, which made the overall creative exchange highly collaborative and expansive for us both.”
She said when the retailer first reached out to her about the possibility of collaborating, the timing could not have been better. She had just moved into a new home and was deep in decorating mode, “which as a designer is somewhat of an existential undertaking because every choice represents you creatively,” she said. “So having spent several months immersed in my own dream world of furniture and home, I knew exactly what I wanted as well as what I couldn’t find on the market, which is always a great space to create from,” she said.
“The Anthropologie design team received all my dreams and wishes and brought them to reality with their expert executive,” she continued. “Over the course of 18 months, we worked diligently on each stage of design, from ideation to sourcing to in-person and virtual product reviews at the Anthropologie headquarters in Philadelphia. I could not be more proud of what we created together,” she said.
Fetherson noted that since 2005 she has been designing pieces “that evoke a sense of fantasy and playfulness that make women feel beautiful and confident. When embarking on my first interiors project of this scale, I knew that Anthropologie would be the perfect partner to help me translate my vision and capture my ethos,” she said.
“Anthro’s ability to continuously evolve their assortment ensures there is always something new for their community to discover, providing endless delight and inspiration no matter where they are in their life journey – whether that is looking to furnish a home, dress for a night out, or set the perfect table for a celebration with family and friends. I am overjoyed at the thought of pieces from the Erin Fetherston for Anthropologie collection being a part of so many special moments for their customers,” she added.
In discussing how she translated her aesthetic to the home and apparel products, Fetherston said that the mood of the collection weaves together the core influences of her creative life. “Drawing from the years I spent in Paris (where I began my fashion career), there are subtle notes of 1940s French-inspired silhouettes in the furniture. The palette and materials draw from my native California ethos, which is earthy and understated, but we infused them with romantic elements like antique brass and milk glass, which lend femininity and romanticism within each piece.”
In terms of the apparel, she said she wanted the collection to feel like an extension of the home universe and to capture the different moods of the woman who wants to inhabit that world. “The color palette and print direction bring the two categories together in a seamless way,” she said.
The collection will be available exclusively online beginning Aug. 10. The collaboration will be supported with a full marketing campaign comprised of digital support site content, a branded category page and email coverage, as well as in-store marketing and robust social media across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and LinkedIn. Fetherston is expected to support and share across her social channels as well.
Anthropologie, which has more than 200 stores around the world, ships to over 100 countries. The retailer has previously partnered with Mark Sikes, Amber Lewis, and Pernille Rosenkilde, among others, for AnthroLiving. For apparel, it has partnered with Peter Som, Carly Cushnie, Tracy Reese and Reformation, among others.
Fetherston has collaborated with a range of brands and retailers, and her interior design work has been published in Architectural Digest, Domino, House Beautiful, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle Decor, California Home & Design, among others. She is represented by The Eye Agency and has spent the last few years working on commercial and residential design projects. Her clientele includes Jenna Dewan, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Odette Annable, The Jane Club and Hoopes Vinveyards, among others. She also consults via The Expert.

I was so excited to be featured over on the Anthropologie blog earlier this month sharing my tips on how to create the ultimate gallery wall. Covering a big wall space can be pretty intimidating, combining art styles is a tad tricky, and one hundred holes in the wall is no fun. So, let’s break it down!
1. Decide on your style. Are you Eclectic? Colorful? Architectural? A variety of frames, textures and sizes work well for a lover of eclectic wall art. If you’re looking for something more structured, consistency is key—you’ll want to consider your frame style, color palette, sizing and shapes.
2. Play with scale. You can achieve a tailored look even when mixing pieces of various sizes and shapes. Try marking out a border on your wall ahead of time with blue tape—this gives even the most varied assortment some structure.
3. Set a clear tone. I like to work within monochromatic color schemes so a single piece doesn’t totally outshine the others.
4. Give your pieces room to breathe. I usually go for relatively! even spacing between each piece—at least 1.5 – 2 inches. This most often requires measuring and marking before you swing the hammer, but the results are worth it!
5. Make it personal like we did in our Anthropologie inspired wall above—everything doesn’t have to be in a frame!. Once you’ve settled on your larger framed pieces, don’t be afraid to add things you gather from around your home—cards, kiddie art, even your favorite necklace. These trinkets tell the story of your life.
6. Keep evolving. My favorite thing about gallery walls? They’re so easy to switch up! By adding or subtracting one or two pieces, you can create an entirely new mood.
There! Doesn’t sound as scary now, does it? Sure it takes a lot of planning, but I guarantee your art looks way better on the walls than stacked on the floor!
Be sure to hop on over to the Anthropologie’s blog if you haven’t checked it out yet. I can’t thank them enough for having me!
