The terms ‘warm minimalism’ and ‘quiet luxury’ have equally dominated design discussions in recent months but for a good reason. Both these aesthetics are timeless enough to transcend fleeting trends – and they’re versatile enough to work in every style of home, not least Pamela Anderson’s.
The model-turned-actress, best known for Baywatch, shared a look inside her white living room – exhibiting soft white painted walls, indulgent marble furniture, and brassy gold finishes (all of which tap into the quiet luxury trend).
color trends long into the future. Just like ‘quiet luxury’, ‘warm minimalism’ reminds us that neutrals are by no means boring and can, instead, serve as an enduring backdrop to more daring pieces – much like Pamela’s artwork.
‘We’re seeing the return of minimalism, but in a more sophisticated and homelier manner than we’ve seen previously,’ Anne explains in the discussion of this ‘design trend.’ ‘Warm wood tones and natural textures will become a feature of themselves without compromising the simplicity and cleanliness of minimalist styles.’

The Interior Concierge, a personal home shopping service that helps you find the perfect home decor and accessories for your home.
When it comes to decorating with art, Bren Petrunick, the creative founder of Simply White Interiors, also encourages us to follow Pamela’s lead.
‘A heavily furnished room with lots of patterns and colors doesn’t need an abundance of wall art to tie the design together. On the contrary, a more minimalistic furniture layout lends itself to featuring large prints on walls,’ he says.
‘As a general rule, every wall does not need to be covered. Often, the best design is completed in stages, with time dedicated to taking in each new layer and letting your eye wander as it discovers blank pockets that need attention or areas of concentration that should be more evenly dispersed.’
From the art to the furniture, we’re entirely inspired. And we’re buying our way into Pamela’s white living room with these inspired buys below.

Deck the halls, because there’s a festive new trend on the horizon that we predict is set to be the ‘it’ trend of all trends this Christmas – and its foundation? Everything candy-inspired.
In fact, we think it’s one that’s come as timely as ever, ahead of the release of the new movie iteration of our favourite chocolatier. Have you guessed it yet? That’s right: this year we’re diving headfirst into the Wonkacore home decor trend (also synonymous with the Candycore trend) unapologetically for the Christmas season.
Wonkacore home decor trend
Etsy.
‘After a year dominated by the colour pink it’s only right we round off the year with a trend that heavily includes, you guessed it – pink and as we head into the Christmas season we see it entwined with a festive red.’
This candy stripe motif is one that we’ve seen primarily pop up in many of our favourite homeware retailer’s Christmas collections, thus bringing us to coin the term, Wonkacore as a nod to the Wonka movie’s December release.
‘The Candycore trend is inspired by a sugary fantasy world filled with lollipops, candy canes and gumdrops, and with the upcoming release of the film featuring the most iconic candymaker of all, I think we’ll see this trend take centre stage this season,’ confirms Dayna.
We imagine this is a trend that we’ll see high and low in Christmas living room decor ideas or hallway decorating ideas alike.
Commenting further on the trend, Katie Derry, brand marketing manager at George Home says, ‘Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a candy stripe, but in anticipation of this year’s Wonka release it’s a theme we’re enjoying more than ever!’
‘At George Home, we’re a big fan of striped bedding and this year’s pink and red iteration is the most Wonkacore yet; bold, bright and festive with an additional frilled edge it’s the perfect addition to any interior style and sweeter than chocolate itself.’
Cox & Cox’s Holiday Christmas collection follows suit as well as the look is ‘all about bringing back childhood excitement and memories,’ says Danielle Le Valliant, head of photography and film at Cox & Cox.
‘It perfectly complements the Wonkacore trend, which celebrates everything quirky and whimsical. The look is inspired by the grand American houses that we see in movies, where everything is a little over the top and oversized.’
How to bring Wonkacore into your home this Christmas
There are many ways to bring the Wonkacore touch into your home without having to overthink it. Whether it’s a tablescaping addition, decorating a Christmas tree, to Christmas wall decor, you can dip your toe into the trend worry-free.
Dayna starts, ‘Due to the popping colours entwined in the trend, it’s super easy to incorporate it into your existing home decor, from little touches on a table setting like striped napkins and candy-shaped candle holders (ideal for tablescaping) to gorgeous little peppermint tree decorations, or candy-inspired wall art.’

Twelve Candy Striped Tree Bows
Dress your tree with this set of twelve charming Candy Striped Bows to create a truly traditional Christmas look.
‘If you don’t already have a traditional red and white scheme, it’s easy to add a subtle candy stripe here and there by opting for a softer red and pairing the decor with biscuit tones for a more sophisticated feel, dropping the silver,’ advises Danielle.
‘Or, if you’re looking to make less of a splash, the candy man says you can with a cushion, towel or even just a Christmas bauble,’ concludes Katie.
Tampa (BLOOM) – Gone are the days when inflatable chairs were only seen at pool parties or campgrounds. Today, they are becoming a hot trend in home decor, offering a unique blend of style, versatility, and convenience. But what exactly makes these chairs the next big thing in interior design? Let’s find out.
Historical Context
Inflatable chairs first made a splash as convenient accessories for poolsides and beach outings. Their lightweight and portable design made them popular for casual use. However, modern inflatable chairs have undergone a design revolution, transforming from simple outdoor seats to chic indoor furnishings.
Trend Factors
Versatility
One of the key selling points of inflatable chairs is their versatility. Suitable for almost any room—be it the living room, bedroom, or even the patio—these chairs are multifunctional. You can use them for reading, relaxing, or even as a statement piece that captures your guests’ attention.
Space-Efficiency
An inflatable chair can be deflated and stored away when not needed, making it an excellent option for small apartments or homes that require flexible furniture arrangements. This space-saving feature is a boon for modern, urban living.
Affordability
Inflatable chairs offer a stylish seating option without breaking the bank. When compared to traditional chairs, which can be expensive and heavy, inflatable chairs provide an economical yet trendy alternative.
Style Quotient
Today’s inflatable chairs are far from tacky. With a range of designs, materials, and colors, these chairs can be as stylish as any traditional furniture piece. They are also easier to update or change, allowing you to keep up with the latest home decor trends without much hassle.
If you’re looking for a chic, modern, and comfortable inflatable chair, the Air Candy Mongolian Faux Fur Ivory White Inflatable Chair is a perfect choice. This product includes a clear chair and a faux fur cover that is easy to attach. With dimensions of approximately 40 x 43 x 30 inches, it is generously sized for comfort. Moreover, its durable PVC construction can hold up to 250 pounds.
The chair also features a patent-pending Blow Dryer adapter, enabling you to inflate it using your hair dryer! This offers an extra layer of convenience, as you can control the firmness by adjusting the air pressure to your desired level. The chair essentially allows you to “float on air,” providing a unique and luxurious seating experience.
Environmental Benefits
In addition to their functional advantages, inflatable chairs generally have a lighter carbon footprint compared to their wooden or metal counterparts. They are also more likely to be recyclable, contributing to a more sustainable lifestyle.
How to Incorporate Inflatable Chairs in Home Decor
Integrating inflatable chairs into your home decor is straightforward. Consider the following tips:
Match the color scheme with existing decor.
Use them as accent pieces to add a pop of color or texture.
Pair them with complementary furniture, like a sleek coffee table or a modern rug.
Potential Drawbacks and Solutions
While inflatable chairs are convenient and stylish, they may not be as durable as traditional chairs. The solution lies in proper maintenance and opting for high-quality products like the Air Candy Mongolian Faux Fur chair, which is designed for durability and comfort.
Inflatable chairs are more than just a passing fad. They are versatile, space-efficient, affordable, and increasingly stylish, making them an excellent choice for contemporary home decor. For those looking to hop on this trend, the Air Candy Mongolian Faux Fur Ivory White Inflatable Chair comes highly recommended for its blend of comfort and style.
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days event is next week: Oct. 10-11. Call it “Prime Day 2.0” if you agree the name doesn’t roll off the tongue. The event promises another round of lowered prices on all sorts of products and an opportunity to cross-shop competing retailers.
October sales at a glance
Black Friday in October may be Amazon’s idea, but other retailers aren’t to be out-dollared. Here’s a rundown of the deal dates and some need-to-knows.
Target Circle Week is already on, running Oct. 1-7.
Deals are exclusive to Target Circle members, but Circle is free to join and use.
Get discounts online or in-store on items ranging from toys and kitchen supplies to everyday essentials like diapers and wipes.
Walmart’s Deals Holiday Kickoff begins at 7 p.m. ET on Oct. 9 and runs through Oct. 12.
This sale isn’t exclusive to Walmart+ members, so all shoppers can access the deals.
Expect discounts on giftable items like electronics, apparel, home decor and more.
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days begins at 3 a.m. ET on Oct. 10 and runs through Oct. 11.
Deals are exclusive to Amazon Prime members; Prime costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year. (There’s a 30-day free trial option for newbies.)
Expect deal drops throughout the event, and Prime members can request special invites ahead of time to doorbusters that may sell out.
Oh, and Best Buy has a 48-Hour Flash Sale on Oct. 10-11.
It’s like “shopping Armageddon,” says Charles Lindsey, associate professor of marketing at the University at Buffalo School of Management. “Retailers are going earlier and earlier every year in the hopes of locking in a certain percentage of consumers’ ‘holiday wallets’ before other retailers can,” he says.
Similar sales at the same time last year gave people a good reason to jump into Black Friday shopping early. Prices on popular products monitored by NerdWallet hit or matched year lows.
But the extended season of sales creates more opportunities for shoppers to bust their gift-buying budgets, says Lindsey.
Try these methods to shop the onslaught of early sales in a way that preserves your holiday wallet.
1. Make a game plan
Approach internet sales with a plan, says Lars Perner, assistant professor of clinical marketing at the University of Southern California. “If you go online and look at all of these great deals, you’re going to be tempted, and you may end up buying things that you otherwise wouldn’t have bought,” he adds.
Amazon shoppers can likely relate. You go online for a specific item, say a wireless mouse for your laptop, and you check out with the mouse, plus a massage gun and a DIY home security system because of the in-your-face markdowns.
Make a list of what you need and know your gift-buying and fun money budget before you browse.
“We only have a limited amount of money to spend,” says Perner. So be ready to be enticed and understand the implications of overspending, he adds.
2. Shop intentionally and set a time limit
Maybe you’ve heard of timeboxing work tasks. It’s a strategy where you schedule time for a task, stay with it for a short burst, then move on. The concept promotes focus and clarity of objective, according to the Project Management Institute. You can use this method for a more focused and budget-conscious online shopping experience.
If you plan to peruse, resist the urge to check Amazon like a social media app, and pick a finite time of day to do it. Maybe you end your day with a half-hour online to browse the deals when your mind is clear and guard is up against overbuying.
3. Get a good price and know it
With deals happening all the time, it’s no longer enough to take the sale price at face value. Perner points out how markdowns can be misleading.
“The deal might say 45% off, but that’s not going to be 45% off the regular price,” he says. Instead, it’s more likely to be a percentage off the item’s list or suggested retail price, which might not reflect what the retailer typically charges.
“It may still be a nice deal, you know, 15% off, say, the regular price. But again, some of the discounts are going to seem bigger than they really are,” says Perner.
You can easily get a feel for the going rate before you buy. Lindsey encourages shoppers to use a site like Camelcamelcamel, which tracks the price history of products sold on Amazon, or other browser-based coupon finders to confirm the quality of deals. The Honey extension, a software add-on for browsers like Chrome, also displays the price of products over time.
4. Wait for Black Friday if you want
Of course, you can roll the dice and wait for the day after Thanksgiving. NerdWallet’s data shows Prime Day and early October sales like Prime Big Deal Days present prices competitive with Black Friday, but there’s no substitute for the real thing. Actual Black Friday (and Cyber Monday) sales events still rock, and there’s less threat of disruption this year.
“The last few years [of] Black Friday sales might have been more limited during the pandemic,” says Perner. He recalls the supply chain challenges and backlog of ships coming into ports.
“But we’re past that now, and the Chinese economy is slowing down,” he adds.
Perner says those factors could lower the cost to produce imported goods. That could lead retailers to offer even better deals.
5. Skip the deal days altogether
Perner says sometimes he’ll check out Amazon’s deal of the day when he needs a break, but he has become better able to resist buying things over time. One tactic he suggests: Let the delivery boxes accumulate in the hall or garage as “visual evidence of how much you might be buying.”
Maybe you don’t need all that stuff.
It certainly is hard to put down the phone or close the laptop when holiday sales kickoff days have a regular place on the calendar and in the culture. But if you can resist the temptation, you could save the most money by skipping the deal days altogether.

Interior designer and co-founder of lifestyle brand Magnolia Joanna Gaines is inspiring us with creative fall craft ideas, more specifically flower pressing.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, the renowned designer shared a snapshot of a stunning fall-inspired collection of flowers that were in the process of being pressed, which taps into a key floral trend for 2023.
how to press flowers is a fairly straightforward process, but we turned to the flower experts to find out more about this fall craft.
‘Flower pressing can make some beautiful home-crafted pieces and using fall flowers can make a colorful display,’ explains Georgina O’Grady, managing director at Evergreen.
‘Good fall flower options include asters, violas, sunflowers, marigolds and zinnias. Once you have picked your flowers, remove any excess foliage that might cause the flowers to rot during pressing,’ she continues to explain.
Georgina O’Grady
fall colors that reflect the warming and earthy tones associated with the autumnal months is a key step: ‘For fall, opting for warm-toned flowers such as burnt orange, mustard yellow, and muted pink will help to bring the colors you expect to see in nature at this time of year into your home.’
For best results, Blott explains that ‘flowers with fewer layers of petals work best for pressing,’ whilst you can also mix things up and ‘consider also pressing some herbs and grasses for variation in your displays.’
Kate Blott
dried flowers, to begin with rather than fresh, which Blott explains gives a unique look: ‘Already-dried flowers retain some of their contours while fresh flowers become much flatter. Fresh flowers flatten as their natural moisture is wicked away, but a dry flower has already set in its dried state, meaning a completely flattened result isn’t achievable.’
The best bit about flower pressing for fall? It’s definitely the longevity: pressed flowers look great as home decor for years to come, as Blott explains: ‘Unlike standard dried flowers that may be exposed to dirt, damp and harsh light, pressed flowers are often kept tucked away inside journals or behind glass. This will extend their lifespan.’
‘As with all dried floral products, the level of care they are given will directly affect how long they last and look their best,’ Blott concludes.

As someone who grew up in a small town with the closest mall almost an hour away, I didn’t discover Anthropologie until later in life (probably a good thing for my wallet TBH). But don’t worry, I’ve made up for lost time by purchasing every home, beauty, and clothing item I can afford and mentally adding the entire kitchen section to my non-existent wedding registry. What? A girl can dream.
As much as I love Anthropologie, however, I don’t always love their prices. So when I want to get a similar look at a more affordable price, I turn to Amazon. You might be surprised by how much Anthropologie-inspired home decor—ranging from pillows and throws to kitchen and dining items—you can find on Amazon for a fraction of the price. That’s right, you no longer have to shop in the sale section or break the bank to decorate your home in Anthro’s signature boho-inspired style. Keep scrolling for some of my favorite Amazon home decor finds that give you the same look for less (and two-day shipping!).

Decor & Lighting
Antique Gold Wall Mirror
The Gleaming Primrose Mirror is one of Anthropologie’s most viral products and for good reason. The vintage-inspired design and intricate details make it a beautiful addition to any room, but starting at $548, it’ll cost you a pretty penny. There are several similar designs out there, but none are quite as good as this option from Amazon. The details and color options are nearly identical to Anthropologie’s but at less than half the cost.
Grecian Bust Candle
Grecian busts have been a popular motif at Anthropologie for a while now, mostly in the form of their Grecian Bust Pot. These pots work beautifully as planters or vases, but if you don’t have a green thumb, you may want to opt for this Grecian bust-inspired candle from Amazon instead.
Faux Fur Throw Blanket
Every winter, Anthropologie brings out their line of ultra-plush faux fur throw blankets. Not only are they a great item to give for the holidays, but they also make any room feel extra cozy. However, most of their throws cost well over $100, which is a little steep if you’re buying them for multiple people or more than one room in your home. Thankfully, Amazon has this similar version for half the price.

Woven Pendant Lamp
In the words of Chandler Bing, could this BE any more beautiful? The woven details make this pendant look so luxe that no one would believe it’s only $140. Bonus: natural materials like wicker, rattan, and cane are popular right now thanks to the “tropicalcore” trend, and this light fixture is the perfect addition to bring some vacation vibes into your home.
Velvet Throw Pillow Covers
Soft velvet and bold colors are hallmarks of Anthropologie textiles, so these pillow covers fit right in with the brand’s eclectic style. While these covers don’t come with pillow inserts like they would at Anthropologie, you do get a set of four for only $32, which is a steal.
10 colors available
Brass Snail Figurine
One of my favorite things about Anthropologie is their selection of small but impactful decor pieces. I actually saw a snail figurine similar to this one at Anthro several years ago, and I’ve been kicking myself ever since for not buying it, so I’m glad to see a similar version available on Amazon. These snails would look absolutely adorable styled on a shelf or as paperweights on your desk.
Floral Flush Mount Light Fixture
With feminine, delicate details, this light fixture looks like something straight out of an Anthropologie catalog. Imagine it hanging in an elegant entryway, a stylish bathroom, or airy guest room. The best part? It’s less than $60.
Tufted Runner
Something I’ll never understand is why rugs are so expensive. Even the smallest size can cost hundreds of dollars, but this Amazon runner gives the Anthropologie look for much, much less. At less than $40, I’ll definitely be adding this to cart for my kitchen.
5 colors available
Boho Tufted Accent Pillow Cover
Add some texture to your couch or bed with this Moroccan-style throw pillow cover. Handwoven tufted accents give the cover a sophisticated look, and the thick and durable fabric give it a high-quality feel.
Wooden Bowl Centerpiece
If a hand-carved wooden bowl doesn’t scream boho-chic, I’m not sure what does. Pieces like this are great to have around the house for a variety of purposes. Style it on a coffee table with a candle and coasters, use it was a fruit bowl in the kitchen, or keep it by the front door as a catchall for your wallet and keys.
Woven Blanket
Woven blankets are another boho-style staple, and the colors and tassels on this one are what dreams are made of. Its lighter-weight fabric also makes this one easy to style over a chair or at the end of a bed.
10+ colors available
Kitchen & Dining
Fluted Ceramic Bowl
Another one of my personal favorite Anthropologie items is their Amelie Latte Bowls. I use mine almost daily to serve meals or to hold ingredients while cooking, and I love the French-inspired look of them. While these bowls aren’t that expensive in store, there is a slightly cheaper alternative available on Amazon for those who love a good deal.
4 colors available
Ceramic Berry Baskets
With the grandmillennial trend still going strong, quirky, vintage-inspired pieces like these berry bowls are especially popular. Not only are they functional in helping you keep your fridge more organized, but they also add a fun whimsical touch to your kitchen.
3 colors available
Candles & Candlesticks
Twisted Candle Sticks
For a trendy take on the classic taper look, try these twisted candles. They come in tons of different colors, so grab a four-pack of your favorite shade to re-create Anthropologie’s funky style for less.
10+ colors available
Ribbed Glass Candle Holders
These ribbed glass candlestick holders are a mix of boho and vintage, making them a beautiful addition to any tablescape. Each set comes with six candle holders in three different sizes and styles. Pro tip: mix and match the colors to create a more customized look.
4 colors available
Candle Warmer Lamp
I’ve seen so many gals on TikTok showing off their candle warmer lamps as part of their nighttime routines, and you can consider me influenced. I love the quirky look of the scalloped shade paired with the vintage look of the brass and wood base. And at just $20, this is an affordable way to create a cozy atmosphere for fall.
2 colors available
Rose Quartz Coasters
Anthropologie’s Gilded Agate Coasters are another one of their signature items. I have these in almost every room of my house and often give them as housewarming or Christmas presents. Although the coasters are stunning, they’re a little pricey at $16 a piece, which is why I was excited to find that Amazon sells this set of four natural gemstone coasters for only $40.
Monogram Mug
If you’re unfamiliar with the mug section at Anthropologie, I encourage you to run not walk to check them out. They have a fun selection of monogrammed, floral, and geometric options, but if you’re looking for a more affordable alternative, this mug gives Anthro vibes at an Amazon price.
Lidded Glass Jar Candle
Anthropologie is famous for their candle section, and this glass jar candle looks just like something you’d find in-store. It comes in a variety of colors and scents, but the best part is that it’s paraben- and paraffin-free.

All the Decor You Need to Get the Cottagecore Look This Fall
Very few of us can freshen our home design on an endless budget. But you don’t have to feel constrained by your wallet. That’s because not every piece needs to be the highest quality.
We asked Dallas interior designers where they splurge and where they save to help you stretch your home-decorating fund.

Invest in key parts of your bedroom.
No surprises here. We spend a third of our lives sleeping, so your bedroom matters — even though it’s an area guests may not see.
“Your main bedroom is where you should splurge on yourself,” advises Denise McGaha, owner and principal of Denise McGaha Interiors. “A lot of my clients leave that to the last, and I think it’s so important for you to have a really luxurious, amazing night’s sleep. If you don’t sleep well, you’re not fun to be around the next day.”

McGaha says the mattress is key, but linens are too. So that’s where to concentrate your funds. What about the rest of your bedroom design? Consider buying lower-tier antiques or quality used pieces instead of brand-new furniture.
You can also look for deals on lamps, rugs and throw pillows, creating a designer-approved look that is budget friendly. “Every time you walk in that space,” McGaha says, “I want it to make you smile.”
Chairs trump table in your dining room.
What about the star of the show in the dining area: the table? McGaha says don’t spend a lot, even though it’s one of the biggest pieces, size-wise, in your home.
“I want to encourage people to buy vintage or used tables, because the chairs are where it’s at. People are paying attention to the chair and they’re going to see the back of the chair. Do they even see the base of the table? Especially if you love to entertain, you’re going to put a tablecloth over it a lot. So let’s get you a beautiful antique or vintage table, or use your grandmother’s table, and get new chairs.”

When it comes to what’s over the table, that’s another place to go all out. “Lighting is where you want to spend money,” says Nikki Watson, founder of The Design Quad. “Especially with a new build, people will put in basic fixtures. But if they want to update the space and make it look awesome, then lighting makes a big difference.”

How to redecorate your house for free — using items you already own
In the living room, spend money where people sit.
The living room is all about the return on investment — or in designers’ terms, “seat time.” The more time someone is likely to sit there, the more you should invest in the piece, says McGaha.
So spend time and money picking out a great sofa that will last a long time, but go for less expensive pieces when it comes to to accent furniture. “Like a lounge chair that goes in the room with your really great sofa, you don’t have to spend nearly as much money on that. That way if you get tired of it, you can change it out,” McGaha notes.
“I wouldn’t spend tons of money there because people don’t sit in a lounge chair as long as they relax on a sofa.”
Watson agrees that a sofa is really worth investing in — a neutral sofa, in particular. Bargain accent pillows and throws can be incorporated to stay on trend.
A living space can also be a good choice for spending on lighting, wallpaper and custom upholstery. After all, this room is where we spend many of our waking hours.
“I love to splurge on upholstery,” McGaha shares. “By upholstery I mean getting a piece that’s custom for you, meaning it’s deeper or it’s got a different fill on the cushion, so that every time you sit down you say, ‘I just love this sofa.’”
Where can you save in a living room? Look under your feet. “Rugs are something trendy, so they can be replaced pretty often,” points out Watson.
“I wouldn’t say spend a lot of money, because that trend will change. I know we have faded antique rugs that have been the style for about three to four years now, but now geometrics are coming back in.”
Limit what you spend in your guest room.
It can be tempting to go big in the guest room to really make an impression on people who stay with you, but resist the urge, says McGaha. Your investment in a space should relate to how much time you, the homeowner, spend there.
“I love to use artist prints instead of originals in hallways or guest bedrooms or bathrooms. I’m always going to tell you not to spend all your dollars in those secondary spaces,” says McGaha. “And while I love my guest rooms to be luxurious and really elegant for guests, let’s not put something in there that only that one person gets to enjoy. They’re only there for a few nights.”
To save in a guest room, you could paint instead of doing high-end wallpaper. Your window coverings can be sale items; so can guest linens and bedding. When you look for deals, you can more easily change out those elements for a style update.
Go for cost-effective pieces in kids’ rooms.
Keep in mind that kids tend to be harder on furnishings, and their tastes will change as they grow up — so feel free to choose lower-cost, trendier pieces for their spaces. McGaha says the bed is a particular place you can save in a child’s room. Use a metal bed frame and score a fun and comfy upholstered headboard.
Don’t neglect your entryway.
You might not think about splurging on the entry to your home, but hear us out. It’s often the first thing you see when you return home and the last thing you see before you leave. And it’s the first and last impression of your home that guests have, too.

This is where you want to go for original art, amazing lighting and the wallpaper of your dreams. And best of all, it’s a small space compared to other areas in your home, so you can choose just a few things and still have a big impact.
It’s T minus 31 days before Reno’s first Cracker Barrel opens its doors to the public.
The long-awaited restaurant is “opening Oct. 30,” according to a sign in front of the Cracker Barrel building on West Fifth Street. A Cracker Barrel spokesperson also confirmed the opening date when reached by the Reno Gazette Journal late Thursday.
Reno Cracker Barrel was years in the making
The opening date caps a years-long journey for the “old country store” in Reno, which started in 2019 prior to the pandemic when Cracker Barrel showed up in development plans submitted to the city.
The Reno Cracker Barrel was officially confirmed three years later in 2022, which was also the year that the project broke ground.
The store was originally slated to open this spring but saw multiple construction delays. The initial delay was attributed to a heavier-than-expected winter season, which saw multiple storms bring record snow to the area. Earlier this month, Cracker Barrel pushed back the opening of the Reno store to October, noting that this should be the final delay.
What is Cracker Barrel known for?
The restaurant’s history can be traced back to 1969 when the first Cracker Barrel Old Country Store opened in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Today, Cracker Barrel has about 660 stores in 45 states, according to the company.
Cracker Barrel is known for its southern food, which includes offerings such as the chain’s signature Chicken n’ Dumplins, country fried steak, meatloaf and the Old Timer’s Breakfast.
“I can assure you our biscuits and chicken n’ dumplins are worth the wait,” spokesperson Jessica Mancuso told the Reno Gazette Journal earlier this month.
Cracker Barrel also has a store that sells various items such as rocking chairs, quilts and unique home decor.

October is officially one week away, making this week the best time to shop for and refresh your space with Halloween decor. Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Target, IKEA, and West Elm all have some of the most fun and viral Halloween decoration ideas, but my absolute favorite place to find stylish and spooky home decor items is at JOANN. Not only does JOANN have some of the most festive, spooky season home decor, but it also has amazing prices, with sales starting super early in the season.
With JOANN’s current Lowest Prices of the Season sale, you can get between 50 and 60 percent off fall and JOANN Halloween decor, just in time for trick-or-treaters. Plus, this week’s JOANN coupons include a $1.99 shipping perk with promo code SHIP199SAVE at checkout.
Find out more about how we test.
The market is awash with Halloween pieces at the moment and at this time of year you rarely find them on sale. Halloween pieces at competitors can be incredibly expensive for decor that you’ll only use once a year, so it’s smart to find finishing touches on markdown. What I particularly like about JOANN’s selection is that a lot of these pieces are made with iron instead of plastic, so they should hold up for years, saving you even more in the long run.
Place & Time Halloween Metal Moon Phase Candle Holder
Was $24.99, now $12.49 at JOANN Candlesticks are one of the biggest home decor trends of the season, and this moon phase option puts a spooky spin on the style. Constructed from 100 percent iron, this candle holder of moon phases is heavy-duty and built to last for seasons to come. It would look so cute on a tablescape with the viral DIY ghost candle from TikTok or added to a spooky fireplace display with flameless taper candles.

I use a very similar system under my bathroom cabinet: the area is vertical enough that my bottles and things don’t reach to the top, but that leads to wasted storage space above them (because I can’t safely stack on them, and even then, I wouldn’t be able to actually see them). So I use the Command heavy duty caddy for stashing small things, like extra toothbrushes and floss, in the upper right! Works like a charm, and has held up for the five years since I moved in.
Promising review: “For the price and the look I think it’s a good buy. It’s easy to install — has simple set up to screw into the wall and know that its secure. Looks great, blends with almost everything. This could be used literally anywhere, bathroom, kitchen, laundry, bedroom above your night stand, as organization throughout the house, endless possibilities. These look great and can hold enough without having to tear up your wall w a shelf or extra mounting hardware. As it stands, it’s a good price and made of great quality.” —Lauren A
