In the ever-evolving world of design, trends come and go, shaping the aesthetic landscape of our living spaces. As we step into the new year, designers find themselves at the forefront of a creative revolution, ready to bid farewell to certain decor trends and colors that have adorned homes for too long. We’re delving into the dynamic realm of interior design, exploring the shifts, evolutions and innovative styles that are set to redefine our living spaces in this year.
Join us on a journey through the anticipated transformations as designers eagerly embrace the wave of change, bidding adieu to familiar motifs to make room for fresh and inspiring design aesthetics.
2023 design trends we’re happy to leave behind
This year has introduced numerous exciting decor ideas to the design realm, yet amidst the innovative concepts, some interior design trends seem overdone. While it’s crucial to honor individual style preferences, there’s a sense of anticipation for a fresh wave of inspiration in the coming year. Embracing your favorite decor pieces is encouraged, but for those eager for a change or seeking new home design ideas, here’s a selection of trends that might benefit from taking a step back.
1. Gray, greige and beige tones
The muted greys and beiges that dominated 2023 design trends now feel overplayed. While these neutrals will never necessarily go out of style, they’re used too much especially due to the large influence of minimalism.
These tones lack personality and can result in a space that feels uninspired and monotonous. Instead of defaulting to the safety of muted greys and beiges, consider injecting some life into your color palette. Experiment with bolder hues or explore the vast spectrum of nature-inspired tones.
Trend to try instead: Bold hues and saturated colors.
2. Checkered pattern play
This year, the checkered pattern in home decor has become somewhat overdone, largely due to the influence of social media influencers who fervently promoted its use. While the pattern itself exudes cool retro vibes, its widespread presence in design circles has created a feeling of saturation. The once-refreshing nod to vintage aesthetics has now reached a point where the checkered pattern has a chequered past.
Trend to try instead: Textural fabrics over patterned ones like natural linen.
3. Overly coordinated decor
The 2023 trend of overly coordinated decor is on the way out, and for good reasons. The meticulous matching of every element in a space, from furniture to accessories, not only demands a significant investment of both money and time but also tends to make homes feel somewhat impersonal. The pursuit of perfection in coordination often results in spaces that lack warmth and character found in a more eclectic and personalized approach.
Trend to try instead: Maximalism.
4. Impersonal spaces
Speaking of impersonal spaces, hiding personal decor should be left to the old 2023 design trends. In the evolving world of interior decor, the idea of hiding personal touches within a home is becoming passé. Instead, there’s a rising inclination toward showcasing personal style, memories and individuality through decor. As we embrace the transition into 2024, the mantra is to let your space reflect your personality openly and tell your story with pride and authenticity.
Trend to try instead: Embracing eclectic and personal decor, like a gallery wall.
5. Overestimating our green thumb
Plants elevate rooms to the next level, bringing color and vibrancy that transforms the atmosphere effortlessly. Natural materials also tend to work well with plants in the interior design world, making plants a fun element to design around. While plants undeniably enhance the appeal of interiors, the misconception that everyone possesses expert-level gardening skills can lead to the neglect of these green companions.
Instead of letting overconfidence overshadow the joy of incorporating plants into your decor, we recommend a more mindful approach to their care and placement. Starting small and adding on is the best way to incorporate plants into decor in the year ahead.
Trend to try instead: Succulents and other low-maintenance plants.
6. Style over comfortability
Will 2024 be the year we finally prioritize comfort and practicality over style when it comes to furniture? The 2023 design trends favoring style over comfort have overstayed their welcome, and there’s a growing realization that a truly inviting and functional living space should prioritize comfortability. Investing in pieces that not only look good but also provide a cozy and functional experience can transform the way we interact with our living environments.
Opposing trend we love: Multifunctional furniture.
7. Choosing trendy over timeless
It’s time to rethink the whole trendy versus timeless design trend. Last year, we saw a ton of trendy pieces taking over interior design trends, like curvy and rounded furniture, sculptural ceramic vases and knot and arch pieces.
But here’s the problem – being too enamored with what’s ‘in’ can make your space feel outdated and impersonal. Acrylic plastic furniture might be modern, but it’s not immune to becoming yesterday’s news. Leave chasing the latest trends behind and focus on picking pieces that feel timeless and can stand the test of time.
Timeless trends we love: mid-century modern design, sustainable design pieces and neutral rugs.
8. Gaudy gold
Before you clutch your gold-set pearls, understand that gold itself will never truly be out of style. The flashy nature of gaudy gold furnishings tends to clash with the timeless, contemporary trend of clean lines and simple elegance.
People are now gravitating towards timeless and versatile pieces that contribute to a balanced and harmonious living space, which doesn’t involve the overuse of gaudy gold. The desire for a more relaxed and refined atmosphere has led to the decline of gold in favor of more subdued and sophisticated design choices.
Think boldly in 2024
We can’t talk about 2023 design trends we want to see retired without touching on an aesthetic we hope to see carried into the new year. Our favorite design trend from last year, which we’re rooting for in the new year, is the emphasis on bold statements. Whether it’s vibrant color choices, daring patterns or eye-catching focal points, the idea of making a statement in design has added a refreshing dynamic to spaces.
Big statements inject personality, spark conversations and create memorable aesthetics. From statement furniture pieces to accent walls that demand attention, this movement invites us to become an interior designer ourselves, break free from the mundane and embrace a more daring, expressive approach to design. Let’s continue celebrating the power of bold statements to elevate our living spaces and make a lasting impression in 2024.

Are you looking to redecorate and change the design aesthetics in your home? Here are some interior design and home decor trends you can use for inspiration.
We’ve ridden the waves of 1970s revivals, wall-to-wall carpeting, the rise and fall of the Ultrafragola, and bouclé upholstery. When we type “interior design trends 2024” into our crystal balls (or indeed, into Google) what are we likely to find? AD PRO consulted the experts, and 2024 promises to be a year of thoughtfully chosen offbeat colors, a mix-and-match approach to the designs of different time periods, and a return to romanticism, with jewel tones and florals offering a flirty, old-fashioned respite from the onward march of technology.
Stone Fruit Chic: Peach and Apricot
Soft, sweet, and just a bit tart, peach and apricot are the dominant hues in the home trends color forecasts for 2024. Pantone declared Peach Fuzz its color of the year, and Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute describes it as “a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance.” Gemma Riberti, head of interiors at trend forecasting agency WGSN, notes that her team has had its eyes on orange. In particular, they note its emergence as “a recharging near-bright in the wellness sector” and as a vivacious alternative to traditional pastels. WGSN’s color of 2024, Apricot Crush, “can be easily paired with neutrals and naturals, and is suitable for textiles, glass, bath, and bedroom products” Riberti says, “but you can also work it to create intriguing narratives: offset it with greens, purples, and blues for vibrant contrast.”

The classic technique of selecting chromatic bedfellows from opposite sides of the color wheel is also in Champalimaud Design’s toolkit. Principal Courtney Brannan tells AD PRO that when it comes to interior design trends in 2024, “we are seeing all the possibilities of peach and turquoise tones.” Though these shades have a tropical feel to them, they “can also feel neutral,” she says. Case in point: “At the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, turquoise creates an amplifying, formal statement surrounding the Silver Palm Bar.” Meanwhile, in New York City’s West Village, an apartment’s peach plaster wall “has a much more understated presence, calmly backgrounding the artful living space around it.”
That’s So Metal
It’s back to the essential elements (literally) for home decor trends in 2024: chrome, steel, and aluminum are suddenly everywhere. Pinterest Predicts 2024 includes a “Hot Metals” board with a distinctly surrealist aesthetic—gleaming surfaces that resemble the shiny sinew of liquid mercury.
David Michon, author of the Substack newsletter For Scale, thinks this is a natural consequence of the early-2020s overload of earth tones. “The desperate search for some kind of warmth in this cold world has exhausted ‘earthy’ browns and ‘meditative’ grays,” he notes. But don’t be too quick to write off these metallic finishes as industrial: “The many stainless-steel explorations of Milan’s Concorde, Harry Nuriev, or Tejumola Butler Adenuga show us that, in fact, steel simply reflects.” In general, says Michon, these metals amplify whatever vibe a room is already giving. With one notable exception: “stainless-steel appliances, which remain overrated.”
House of Hunt founder Holly Hunt concurs, but with a slightly more muted finish: “I foresee bright aluminums and silver gaining popularity in 2024 after years of gold and black dominating metal hardware and accessories,” she tells AD PRO. “However, I tend to avoid metals that are too shiny and prefer the richness of a brushed chrome or nickel, as they give a more polished and sophisticated look.” Adding to the evidence: Earlier this month, Nifembi Marcus Bello presented an eye-catching suite of cast-aluminum furniture at Design Miami.
Dark and Deep: Jewel Tones
The saturated hues of precious gems are giving the palette of 2024 design trends a sense of velvety mystery. According to Rob Natale, chief of design at Sixpenny, this is thanks in part to the recent dominance of neutrals across interiors. “People are rediscovering color in their homes, which is a welcome shift from the all-neutral palette we’ve seen for several years, and jewel tones are at the forefront of that shift,” he says. “It’s a perfect way to incorporate richness, whether as an accent or as the centerpiece for a space since they create such a strong counterpoint to almost any look.” (Heeding their own wisdom, Sixpenny is currently selling furnishings in an array of gem-inspired hues.)
As a Homes writer and interior design obsessive, I love nothing more than spending my downtime decorating or sprucing up our family home. And whether you live in a cozy apartment or palatial house, we all want to create our ideal abode. Trouble is, when you don’t know where to start, it all can all seem rather overwhelming.
While pulling a room together may seem easy on Instagram or social media, there are some basic rules and tips I’ve learned over the years. These top tips will help you achieve the right balance of functionality yet still look stylish. What’s more, these clever design ideas will instantly transform your space, regardless of size, without having to spend a fortune on an expensive renovation!
I’m obsessed with home makeover shows — and these are the 3 mistakes people always make.
1. Go big with mirrors
One of my favorite tricks is the power of mirrors. I absolutely love using mirrors in my home, and the bigger the better. Mirrors are a great way to reflect the natural light across the room, make a small room look bigger, and feel airy and more open. For effective results, lean a large mirror against a wall opposite a window so the light will bounce off it. In small spaces, opt for mirrors that go from floor to ceiling to maximise the light.
In addition, if you want to brighten a dark room, a mirrored wall will also do the trick. Wall-mounted mirrors work well to reflect light, give the illusion of a bigger space, and instantly make your room feel open and airy. More importantly, it will give your blank wall a stylish and contemporary makeover.
While glass can often be problematic if you have children and pets running around, you can choose plexiglass acrylic mirror. Bendable acrylic wall mirrors much like this Shatterproof Wall Mirror ($29, Amazon), are designed to be safer and won’t get accidentally broken or damaged.
Alternatively, if you don’t have a mirror, any reflective surface such as stainless steel, glass and metallic accessories will do the job.
2. Buy the right-sized furniture for the space
Have you ever bought something for your home, only to find out that it’s way too big (or small) for the room? That’s why it’s important to always check the dimensions of furniture before buying, and find a style that’s in proportion to the room. So if your space is too compact for a conventional, rectangular dining table, a circular table will take up less room.
Getting the proportion right can be tricky if you’re buying furniture/decor online, and the reality is far different from the pictures! You may find it helpful to use an AR app such as IKEA Place to get a better idea of how an item of furniture will fit into the space you have.
Another top tip is to elevate your furniture. Instead of heavy-set pieces of furniture, and cumbersome sofas — especially in compact rooms, choose sofas and armchairs with narrow arms, and raised on taller legs. The trick here is when you see more floor underneath, it will give the illusion of a bigger room, and allow natural light to flow better.
In fact, buying the wrong-sized furniture is one of the top decor mistakes that are making your home look smaller than it is.
3. Make use of vertical space
Furniture doesn’t always have to be spread out. Another top tip is to utilize vertical space — especially if you lack floor space or have a compact room. Depending on how strong your walls are, you can easily wall mount floating wall shelves, vertical cabinets, or clever storage units to free up valuable floor space.
For home offices, hanging smaller things on wall-mounted rails can be handy, as you’ll have more desk space making it less cluttered. And for small bathrooms, wall-mounted storage is one of the things organized people keep in their bathrooms. Just don’t forget to check what’s behind the wall before you start drilling holes everywhere!
There are also plenty of stackable storage ideas to keep everything in order. For instance, if you want to keep children’s toys tidy, storage organizers like this Humble Crew Extra-Large Toy Organizer ($79, Amazon), will save you valuable space.
4. Layer your fabrics
There’s nothing better than coming back to a warm and relaxing home to snuggle in. And layering up with chunky throws, soft blankets and plush cushions on sofas and beds work well to achieve that cozy factor.
In addition, it’s good to mix-and-match the textures and color scheme so that everything doesn’t look the same. You want to create an inviting feeling that is also aesthetically pleasing.
Interestingly, soft furnishings are one of the clever ways to reduce noise in your home. Plush furniture like an upholstered sofa, bench or even plump cushions work well to ‘soften’ an area — diffusing unwanted sounds. Thick rugs on hardwood floors can also help to block out some noise, and also prevents furniture from making much noise when it’s moved around. So it’s a win-win!
5. Conceal the clutter
When designing a space, we often forget about functionality, and practical storage solutions. To avoid cluttered spaces, conceal the clutter with multi-purpose furniture such as ottoman benches, blanket boxes or woven baskets. These are clever ways of hiding clutter, as well as doubling up as extra seating or a handy footstool for your guests. Plus, if you have cluttered shoes piling up by the front door, here’s 7 space-saving ways to organize shoes in your entryway.
In addition, if you have unsightly cables or items lying around, there are plenty of creative ways to disguise ugly items in your home. These include things like cable management organizers or sleeves, soap dispensers, or attractive tissue box covers.
And if you have one of the best TVs for family entertainment, cozy movie nights or a decent gaming session, check out these clever ways to decorate around a TV.
6. Don’t overcrowd your walls
Whether it’s family photographs, abstract wall art, or stylish posters, pictures on the walls can add a personal touch. However, there is a danger of going overboard with the gallery wall — making your walls look like an eyesore.
When learning ways to decorate a blank wall, it’s advisable to stick to the ‘odd number rule’ when displaying pictures. So rather than hanging in even numbers, stick to three or five on one wall, or even one large frame. This rule is considered to be more visually appealing, and looks less cluttered. If you want to hang two pictures side by side however, make sure the frames are identical, and hung at the same height. Although this should really be 57 inches, generally, pictures should be hung at eye-level.
Secondly, if you just want to hang one large wall art, position it so that the center of the artwork is approximately 48-56 inches from the floor. However, if it’s positioned above a sofa or table, the bottom of the frame should begin at least 6-12 inches above the back of the sofa or tabletop.
7. Don’t go overboard with trends
If you follow decor trends on social media or TV shows, it can be easy to get carried away with buying things on impulse. By definition, trends come and go, and just because everyone is doing wood panelling, doesn’t mean it will look good in your home!
Define your personal style, and keep your interior scheme simple and classy. After all, less is more! It’s always best to stick to neutral styles, tones or accessories, and incorporate bursts of bold color in soft furnishings, accessories or even lush houseplants. This way, you can change it up whenever you feel like it, or style your home according to the changing seasons.
What’s more, splurging on the latest trends and new furnishings just for the sake of it can make your home look cheap, according to interior designers.
When you think of chic statement pieces and finishing touches, Amazon is probably last on your list. Considering all the other homeware stores, a behemoth multinational best known for cheap plastic gadgets and air fryers simply isn’t as appealing.
I won’t lie to you – there’s a lot of cheap, tacky furniture and decor on Amazon. However, you can find some hidden gems with a little effort. In fact, Amazon is one of my go-to retailers for home decor because you can find amazing deals. What’s more, thanks to Amazon Prime, items also ship super fast, which always comes in handy when I’m refreshing my space for the fall and holiday seasons.

Kitchen and Tablescapes
If you’re looking for accent pieces for your tablescape or need a new fruit bowl, you’ll find lots of decor options on Amazon. The marketplace is my go-to for stocking up on candlestick holders as well as centerpiece vases, fruit bowls, table linens, and more.
BlossoME Antique Ceramic White Vase
LOKUME Set of 12 Gold Candlestick Holders
Denique Yellow Ceramic Fruit Bowl
Was $39.99, now $36.99 at Amazon Every kitchen needs a fruit bowl, and I love the idea of incorporating something fun, sculptural, and a little unexpected. This ceramic fruit bowl boasts a gorgeous yellow glaze that adds a touch of sunshine to your abode. I love how it sits on a pedestal, too, which makes it feel more like a fruit display rather than a fruit bowl.
Furniture
Similar to the likes of IKEA, Wayfair, and Target, Amazon is home to a variety of furniture finds. I love Amazon because you can find budget-friendly options that don’t sacrifice comfort or quality, making it a good place to find trendy accent pieces.
Karl Home Accent Chair Mid-Century Modern Chair
$135.99 at Amazon Accent chairs are one of my favorite types of furniture to find on Amazon. There are seriously so many good options, including dupes. For a classic mid-century modern accent chair, I love this style from Karl Home. It comes in several colors, including a gorgeous cream beige that goes with just about anything.
WILLIAMSPACE 129″ Sectional Sofa Couch
$1,449.99 at Amazon Amazon is also a great place to find cloud couch alternative, and this soft from WILLIAMSPACE is one of my favorites. For $2500 less than the original, this sectional features a U-shaped design with six modules that you can swap around to create a custom style.
LKTART Modern Imitation Rattan Coffee Table
Dough Bowl For Decor
BlossoME Ceramic Vase Home Decor
Marycele Candle Warmer Lamp
Was $45.99, now $29.99 at Amazon If you love candles but don’t want to light them, you can still reap the aromatic benefits with a candle warmer. This option features a built-in fairy lamp with a glass shade and chic brass and wood base that would look stunning with interiors featuring the eclectic vintage aesthetic.
Throw Pillows and Blankets
Accent pillows and throw blankets are some of my favorite ways to switch up my decor from season to season. I always find stylish options on Amazon and particularly love how you can purchase packs of pillow covers vs. stuffed pillows, which makes storing them from season to season much easier.
Was $49.99, now $42.49 at Amazon Chunky knit blankets are one of the most popular home decor trends this year. If you don’t have the time to knit one yourself, you can get a gorgeous handmade throw blanket for under $50 at Amazon. The Adyrescia Chunky Knit Blanket Throw is made from chenille and comes in several different sizes, so you can add one to your couch or bed and even keep one folded up in your office for chilly mornings.
Was $138.99, now $117.99 at Amazon This trendy arch mirror boasts major vintage vibes but at a fraction of the cost. The chic arched mirror comes in several colors, including brass, cream, and black and four different sizes, so you can easily find an option that fits in virtually any space, including a bedroom, entryway, bathroom, or living room.

This fall, the rising botanical décor darling is… an artichoke.
Thistles, chickens, mushrooms and mermaids are among the trending themes for fall, at least in Etsy’s corner of retail. Etsy looked at what people are typing in the search bar. Combined with industry forecasting and social media trends, the company created a guide to fall trends. While the report ranges from style (opal charm bracelets are hot) to special occasions (blush pink wedding dresses are popular), read on for fall home décor trends with examples from Lancaster County makers and businesses.
Barnyard imagery
Blame Carrie Underwood for at least some of the chickens you spot this fall. The country singer posted a selfie on Instagram earlier this year wearing an olive sweatshirt decorated with chickens. “Makes nice living… Lots of fancy clothes in closet… Wears chicken sweats she bought off Etsy…” she wrote in the caption.
Searches for “chicken sweatshirt” soared.
Farm scene-inspired clothing and décor leans heavily on chickens as well as cows and barns.
This personalized chicken mug has been a hot seller for Zookaboo in New Holland, says owner Michele Zook.
Laser-cut chicken ornaments and earrings from Wilder Mind Designs, Lancaster, have been popular this year as well, says owner Trista Ambs.
Throwback Halloween
Vintage Halloween fans might turn to secondhand for sustainability, for an upcycled project or for nostalgia.
Guermantes Vintage’s closet in Lancaster (run by Janine D’Agati) includes rare handmade costumes like two from the 1920s. The red cotton dress is appliqued with bats, black cats and witches on broomsticks. The twin bee costumes are made of delicate crepe paper on black cotton. The hats have bendable wire antenna.
Vintage Culture Shop, Lancaster Township, had four circa-1955 Weeny Witch party booklets filled with recipes and directions on how to make a witch diorama centerpiece from hot dogs. They sold out quickly, says co-owner Karen Foerstel.
The Lancaster Township business still has other vintage Halloween items available, including a 1910s postcard with a hand-written invitation to a long-ago Halloween party asking guests “be sure and mask.”
Mary Charles Folk Art call her paintings and prints whimsical, enchanting and heartwarming. Some of the Lancaster artist’s woodland scenes feature mushrooms, including “Toadstool Cottage” and “The Getaway.”
Mushrooms also sprout on some of Jain Falcon’s artwork. The Lancaster artist prints her artwork on greeting cards, notebooks, stickers, tote bags as well as prints.
Earthy ceramics
For ceramics, perfectly smooth surfaces aren’t a must. “Pieces spotlighting terracotta, speckled textures, and uneven glazes that reveal the natural components and handwork are growing in popularity,” Etsy reports.
Speckled ceramic mugs are part of the inventory of Deez Things Art. Michael Diesner makes them at his Rapho Township home during summer breaks from teaching.

A new year often sparks urges for a refresh — toward healthy habits, goal setting, clutter clearing and bringing in more positive energy. For home decor enthusiasts, that all translates to the home, and often means clearing out the old and bringing in the new. Unlike fashion, though, home decor trends tend to take their time easing into major seasonal shifts (it’s easier and cheaper to swap out your wardrobe than your decor — sustainable too!). Some home decor trends that are here to stay going into 2024? Sustainability and indoor-outdoor living, the former driven by millennials and Gen Z, according to a new design report by global surfacing company Cosentino.
They pulled designer and homeowner data to forecast top trends for 2024 and beyond, along with insights from some of the country’s top designers. We asked some of our favorite designers too what they think will be hot next year. Here are new trends to watch and incorporate into your home – plus, rental hacks to try if you’re not down with a whole renovation!
Spas are all about relaxation and self care, not rushing out in the morning to work. Big bathtubs, open showers, saunas, and spa-like amenities are all going to be a big trend in 2024. According to the report, designers and homeowners agreed that a spa-inspired bathroom was among their top 3 home priorities overall.

Rental hack: If you’re not ready to remodel or you rent, things like marble or stone accessories, plants, and if there’s room, a chair or settee will give your bath an elevated sanctuary feel. Adding a bath shelf is an easy and affordable way to create an ultimate spa bath too!
Bold Dramatic Moves

The neutral trend transitioned into more earthy tones in 2023 and will get even bolder come the new year. “I think 2024 is going to be all about bold, dramatic moves,” says Devon Wegman, founder and design director of Devon Grace Interiors in Chicago. “People are tired of playing it safe and sticking with neutrals, soft textures everywhere. Today, we’re incorporating more and more graphic stone, provocative artwork, area rugs and large statement chandeliers in spaces.”
Glam Metallics Are A Go
Cosentino Le Chic Eclectic Pearl Collection
Metallics always add a bit of luxe glamour to a space and 2024 takes them up a notch, using them in areas like kitchens and baths. According to the design report, designers chose metallic accents as their top up-and-coming trend, while homeowners rated it number two.

Hotel Vibes

Travel can bring major inspo to your decor. According to the report, 70 percent of designers find inspiration from resorts and hotels. Look at bedding, art, and elegant details next time you’re staying at or just dining at a resort or hotel. Even a thoughtfully designed Airbnb can inspire your design to upgrade your personal home style.

Rental hack:“Grand, luxurious floral arrangements are a hallmark of hotel lobbies,” says Sarah Eilers of Houston-based Lucas/Eilers Design Associates. “Placing a floral arrangement on a console table or in an elegant vase in your entryway can set the tone for your entire home.”
Kitchen Is King
Design: Living with Lolo | Photo: Life Created
The central headquarters of any home, the kitchen remains a focal point for design. Homeowners are looking to upgrade their kitchens for their own use (the best appliances and conveniences) but also for entertaining their guests with comfortable spaces to sit and have conversation.
Investment in the kitchen remains the number one priority for homeowners and designers in terms of budget too. More than 80 percent of designers are now bringing kitchens to the backyard as well, says the Cosentino report.

Rental hack: Bring in furniture you can take with you that creates an inviting space for you and your guest; add a chandelier or pendant to replace rental “boob” lights; and create a counter “scape” with cutting board, vase, and cookbooks as a focal point.
Brown In All Its Shades
Design: Living with Lolo | Photo: Life Created
“We’ll be drowning in brown in all the best ways in 2024,” says Brad Ramsey, principal and founder of Nashville-based Brad Ramsey Interiors. “Think about coffee, cappuccino, and lattes and how those warm colors hit the spot just like your afternoon Starbucks fix.”

Look to make brown your next color accent. Pair your woods and leathers with a complimentary color to offset the mix of brown tones. Greenery always helps to infuse more color too!
Patterns and Bold Marble

Designers all agree that the rustic farmhouse aesthetic is out for 2024. “I think it’s time for the coastal California look to step aside. This came in hot after Modern Farmhouse faded away, and I think people are ready for more drama and uniqueness,” adds Wegman. Don’t second guess yourself in 2024 in all the ways, including decor — the bolder you are, the better!
Biophilic Design Elements

Bring the outdoors in for a healthy, happy home in 2024. “Biophilic design will thrive in 2024,” says Ginger Curtis, CEO and founder of Urbanology Designs in Dallas. “This trend centers around bringing the outdoors inside, creating spaces that foster a stronger connection with nature. Expect to see more indoor plants, living green walls, natural materials like stone and wood, and large windows to maximize natural light and reduce the barrier between the interior and exterior.”

Tampa (BLOOM) – Gone are the days when inflatable chairs were only seen at pool parties or campgrounds. Today, they are becoming a hot trend in home decor, offering a unique blend of style, versatility, and convenience. But what exactly makes these chairs the next big thing in interior design? Let’s find out.
Historical Context
Inflatable chairs first made a splash as convenient accessories for poolsides and beach outings. Their lightweight and portable design made them popular for casual use. However, modern inflatable chairs have undergone a design revolution, transforming from simple outdoor seats to chic indoor furnishings.
Trend Factors
Versatility
One of the key selling points of inflatable chairs is their versatility. Suitable for almost any room—be it the living room, bedroom, or even the patio—these chairs are multifunctional. You can use them for reading, relaxing, or even as a statement piece that captures your guests’ attention.
Space-Efficiency
An inflatable chair can be deflated and stored away when not needed, making it an excellent option for small apartments or homes that require flexible furniture arrangements. This space-saving feature is a boon for modern, urban living.
Affordability
Inflatable chairs offer a stylish seating option without breaking the bank. When compared to traditional chairs, which can be expensive and heavy, inflatable chairs provide an economical yet trendy alternative.
Style Quotient
Today’s inflatable chairs are far from tacky. With a range of designs, materials, and colors, these chairs can be as stylish as any traditional furniture piece. They are also easier to update or change, allowing you to keep up with the latest home decor trends without much hassle.
If you’re looking for a chic, modern, and comfortable inflatable chair, the Air Candy Mongolian Faux Fur Ivory White Inflatable Chair is a perfect choice. This product includes a clear chair and a faux fur cover that is easy to attach. With dimensions of approximately 40 x 43 x 30 inches, it is generously sized for comfort. Moreover, its durable PVC construction can hold up to 250 pounds.
The chair also features a patent-pending Blow Dryer adapter, enabling you to inflate it using your hair dryer! This offers an extra layer of convenience, as you can control the firmness by adjusting the air pressure to your desired level. The chair essentially allows you to “float on air,” providing a unique and luxurious seating experience.
Environmental Benefits
In addition to their functional advantages, inflatable chairs generally have a lighter carbon footprint compared to their wooden or metal counterparts. They are also more likely to be recyclable, contributing to a more sustainable lifestyle.
How to Incorporate Inflatable Chairs in Home Decor
Integrating inflatable chairs into your home decor is straightforward. Consider the following tips:
Match the color scheme with existing decor.
Use them as accent pieces to add a pop of color or texture.
Pair them with complementary furniture, like a sleek coffee table or a modern rug.
Potential Drawbacks and Solutions
While inflatable chairs are convenient and stylish, they may not be as durable as traditional chairs. The solution lies in proper maintenance and opting for high-quality products like the Air Candy Mongolian Faux Fur chair, which is designed for durability and comfort.
Inflatable chairs are more than just a passing fad. They are versatile, space-efficient, affordable, and increasingly stylish, making them an excellent choice for contemporary home decor. For those looking to hop on this trend, the Air Candy Mongolian Faux Fur Ivory White Inflatable Chair comes highly recommended for its blend of comfort and style.

October is officially one week away, making this week the best time to shop for and refresh your space with Halloween decor. Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Target, IKEA, and West Elm all have some of the most fun and viral Halloween decoration ideas, but my absolute favorite place to find stylish and spooky home decor items is at JOANN. Not only does JOANN have some of the most festive, spooky season home decor, but it also has amazing prices, with sales starting super early in the season.
With JOANN’s current Lowest Prices of the Season sale, you can get between 50 and 60 percent off fall and JOANN Halloween decor, just in time for trick-or-treaters. Plus, this week’s JOANN coupons include a $1.99 shipping perk with promo code SHIP199SAVE at checkout.

The market is awash with Halloween pieces at the moment and at this time of year you rarely find them on sale. Halloween pieces at competitors can be incredibly expensive for decor that you’ll only use once a year, so it’s smart to find finishing touches on markdown. What I particularly like about JOANN’s selection is that a lot of these pieces are made with iron instead of plastic, so they should hold up for years, saving you even more in the long run.
Place & Time Halloween Metal Moon Phase Candle Holder
Was $24.99, now $12.49 at JOANN Candlesticks are one of the biggest home decor trends of the season, and this moon phase option puts a spooky spin on the style. Constructed from 100 percent iron, this candle holder of moon phases is heavy-duty and built to last for seasons to come. It would look so cute on a tablescape with the viral DIY ghost candle from TikTok or added to a spooky fireplace display with flameless taper candles.
Place & Time Halloween LED Haunted House
Was $39.99, now $19.99 at JOANN Illuminate your mantle or bookshelf with this adorable Halloween LED Haunted House from JOANN’s Place & Time Crypts and Cobwebs collection. This haunted house is constructed from a durable mix of stone powder and resin, giving it a ceramic-like finish. We love it on its own on an entry table next to a tablescape of pumpkins and gourds or paired with other haunted houses from the JOANN collection.
Place & Time Halloween Metal Spider Bowl
Was $29.99, now $14.99 at JOANN Whether you’re shopping for a Halloween candy dish or are looking for unique serving dishes for an upcoming spooky party, the Halloween Metal Spider Bowl is another fantastic spooky addition to your Halloween decor. This 9-inch bowl features long, creepy crawly legs and a full spider body and head with plenty of room for candy corn, pub mix, popcorn, and other Halloween snacks.
Place & Time Halloween Black Metal Bats Wall Accent
Was $59.99, now $29.99 at JOANN If you want to deck out your walls for Halloween but are looking for something slightly more elevated than your traditional party decor, this chic Black Metal Bats Wall Accent from Place & Time is worth considering (and its sale price makes it a definite add to cart). The durable Halloween wall decor is constructed from 100 percent iron and would look spooktacular placed above a fireplace mantle, entryway wall, or even outdoors in a patio area.
Place & Time Halloween Orange Pumpkin & Ball Felt Garland
Was $19.99, now $9.99 at JOANN Autumn means festive garland, starting with this craftcore style felt garland featuring plush orange pumpkins. This 6-inch long garland is a fun and whimsical way to dress up your home for the spooky season and would look great placed along a mantle, wrapped around a wreath, or added to a children’s room bookshelf.
Place & Time Halloween Figural Ghost Pillow
Was $39.99, now $19.99 at JOANN If you love the viral Gus the Ghost pillow from Pottery Barn but are looking for a more budget-friendly option, consider the Halloween Figural Ghost Pillow from JOANN. This 14 x 17-inch ghost pillow is somewhat of a Pottery Barn dupe and features that same plush material and spooky spirit. It’s the perfect throw pillow for that living room accent chair, but it would also look adorable nestled up with other festive pillows on an entryway bench.
