You know a design style is truly a classic when it inspires incredible, new work for decades beyond its origin.
That’s exactly what Los Angeles restaurateur Beau Laughlin and his actress wife, Lindsey Gort, achieved in Palm Springs. The pair built a brand-new, midcentury modern-style masterpiece from the ground up, with the help of prominent Palm Springs architect Sean Lockyer, of Studio AR+D.
After entering the market in early June for $5.1 million, the five-bedroom, five-bath home caught a buyer’s eye and is in contingent sale status.
Desert modern design
The home features the traditional single-story, clean lines, and organic materials prescribed by the original masters of classic desert modernism. But this beauty also boasts the most current technology for a thoroughly modern dwelling.
Laughlin and Gort employed a timeless design technique before building began—they spent hours on the property, observing where the best light fell at different times of day and considering the views from each room.
They situated the structure on the nearly half-acre lot, so the sweeping mountain and desert vistas could be enjoyed at all times.
One example of the view-centric design includes Fleetwood glass, pocket sliders that face the iconic San Jacinto Mountains.
The guest suite, dubbed “The Mountain Room,” faces a small mountain where the famous Palm Springs bighorn sheep can occasionally be seen.
To maximize the landscape views, the building team constructed the home with two wings connected to the main living space by a double-sided, glass breezeway. This striking feature overlooks the pool, surrounding desert, and outdoor entertainment spaces.
The home is built primarily of durable and sustainable materials, including concrete, wood, stone, and steel. Natural stone is particularly prominent in the kitchen and bathrooms.
Built with ecology in mind, the home is kept cool in the summer and warm in the winter by high-density, eco-spray, foam insulation. In addition, solar panels offset approximately 80% of the home’s energy needs. Tankless water heaters also conserve one of the desert’s most precious elements.
Luxe outdoor amenities include a resort-sized pool and spa, a fully outfitted outdoor kitchen, a conversation area surrounding a fire pit, tasteful desert landscaping, wood decking, and a cantilevered pergola.
Ideal for the privacy-minded buyer, the 4,185-square-foot home is situated on a corner lot in the upscale Parc Andreas neighborhood and has just one adjacent neighbor. A six-foot privacy wall surrounds the property, and a double gate opens to the front motor court.
Laughlin designed and served as general contractor on a number of award-winning Los Angeles restaurants, including The Hudson, The Churchill, Clover, and Fifty Seven.
Gort is perhaps best known for playing Samantha Jones in “The Carrie Diaries” but has also had prominent roles in TV series such as “Impastor” and “All Rise.”
I can’t believe I’m writing this (honestly had to triple-check), but it’s been almost 20 years since How I Met Your Mother aired its first episode. 18 years to be exact — but still, that’s almost two decades/six times as long as Barney and Robin were married!
Luckily for forever fans like myself who’ve sorely missed the show and watched every episode a hundred times (83% sure that’s a literal figure), the spin-off, How I Met Your Father, is now streaming with two almost as binge-able seasons to fill the void.
The best part? Whether you love the series, hate the series, or sit somewhere in between, there’s no denying it has a distinctly familiar vibe.
Perhaps it’s the combination of its gritty New York setting mixed with a quippy group of 30-somethings who somehow find ample amounts of free time to hang out in a bar every single day. Could be the continued direction from Pamela Fryman who directed 196 of the original 208 episodes.
Or maybe, just maybe, it’s all thanks to the inclusion of one particularly special residence…
The ‘How I Met Your Father’ apartment is Marshall and Ted’s longtime abode from HIMYM
If you’ve found yourself wondering whether the How I Met Your Father apartment is the same one used in How I Met Your Mother, the answer is a resounding Yes! And that became clear from the very first episode of the new series.
Just a few minutes before the end of episode one, Sid and Jessie invite their new friends Sophie (Hilary Duff) and Valentina (Francia Raisa) back to their place for drinks where it’s revealed they live in Ted and Marshall’s (and Lily’s and Robin’s) old apartment.
Not that HIMYM fans really needed it, but we get further confirmation it’s the same old two-bed when Jessie brags how they scored the apartment from an ‘old married couple who posted it on the Wesleyan Alumni Group’ and that they ‘even got them to leave their swords’.
Related: Tracking Down Barney Stinson’s Apartment from HIMYM? Challenge Accepted!
Yep, the very same swords Ted and Marshall use in The Duel to decide who gets the apartment after Lily and Marshall get married.
Surprisingly enough, these swords are not a replica. HIMYM co-creator Carter Bays happened to have kept the swords in his home and has willingly lent them out for the re-boot.
Even more surprising? The set isn’t a replica either! It was kept in storage after the original show wrapped back in 2014 and has now been given a new lease of life with contemporary, navy blue walls and all-new furniture.
Speaking to The Los Angeles Times, co-showrunner Elizabeth Berger explained exactly why they decided to include the familiar apartment in the spin-off.
Despite it being a totally new story with all new characters bar a few cameos, they knew that bringing this set back would be a fitting tribute to the original series and its beloved central characters. It also guarantees something special for loyal fans from the get-go.
If you ask me, it was the perfect way to wrap up the first episode.
The moment Sid turned the key and walked through the door (that’s a lie, I actually guessed it as they walked down the hall!), I found myself letting out an audible “aww” feeling like I’d just bumped into a dear old friend from years passed.
Maybe it’s because, after nearly ten years since HIMYM ended, I’d given up hope that this spin-off would ever get made. When funnily enough, it’s (kind of) been made twice!
In 2014, the same year we bid the gang a reluctant farewell, Greta Gerwig of Ladybird, Frances Ha, and the highly anticipated Barbie movie fame wrote and starred in a pilot episode for a series named, How I Met Your Dad.
Obviously, it didn’t get picked up so the pilot never aired. And, whilst I’ll always wonder what might have been since Gerwig is undoubtedly a master screenwriter, I’m currently loving watching this new sixsome make new memories in the gang’s old digs.
Will we see any of the old gang in HIMYF?
While a third series is yet to be confirmed, fans of the show have already been treated to not one but two main-cast cameos. First Robin (Cobie Smulders) in series one, then Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) in series two. We’ve also seen The Captain, Becky, and Carl!
I won’t spoil any of their scenes for you but on the off chance you’re avoiding HIMYF due to a lack of familiar faces, tuning in means you will get to see your old faves again, even if only for a few minutes!
And who knows, if the show gets renewed beyond these two installments, maybe we’ll see Ted, Lily, or Marshall further down the road. Honestly? I’m really hoping the apartment connection means we will!

‘Only Murders In The Building’: Is the Arconia Apartment Complex Real?
Despite its shockingly low ratings, The Idol has managed to claim a top spot as one of the most popular newly released TV shows.
The provocative HBO series, which airs on Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO, has been stained with controversy even before it premiered. From production drama to script rewrites, the show had quite a few obstacles to overcome before making its way on our screens.
While many find The Idol scenes hard to watch, there’s one thing we can all agree on – that mansion featured on the show is undoubtedly stunning. The palatial estate, which serves as Jocelyn’s home base is actually The Weeknd’s real-life home, and he spent an insane amount of money on it.
The Idol’s controversial debut
Hitmaker Abel Tesfaye, best known as The Weekend, collaborated with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson to write, create, and produce the show.
Tesfaye stars as Tedros, a cult leader who develops a toxic romance with pop star Jocelyn, played by Lily-Rose Depp. The series marks Tesfaye’s first major acting role, after appearing briefly (as himself) in Josh Safdie’s Uncut Gems in 2019.
Before The Idol’s press tour began, Rolling Stonewrote an exposé detailing a toxic production set, which led to director Amy Seimetz’s departure. The editorial piece called the show “twisted, torture porn”. Seimetz was later replaced by Levinson, who rewrote the show almost completely.
“It was like any rape fantasy that any toxic man would have in the show — and then the woman comes back for more because it makes her music better,” one source told the publication.
Meanwhile, Depp has defended the show several times in interviews, saying she never felt objectified or exploited despite being half-naked in scenes.
Showrunners Levinson and Tesfaye maintain that the public backlash was expected all along.
”We’re playing with genres with this show, we’re doing exactly what we wanted to do,” Tesfaye told People. “And none of this is a surprise.”
How The Weeknd’s $70 million mansion ended up playing the part of Jocelyn’s house on The Idol
The Blinding Lights singer dropped a whopping $70 million for his 33,000-square-foot Bel Air mansion back in 2021.
It was the largest, most expensive real estate deal in Los Angeles that closed that year, earning Tesfaye a spot in our list of the most expensive celebrity homes in recent history.
We won’t overwhelm you with the never-ending list of amenities the star’s mansion packs between its walls, but you can read all about The Weeknd’s extravagant property here.
At the time of purchase, there were no plans of using the mansion as a filming set. But, as production was shaken up, they needed a quick resolution.
“If we were going to reshoot from the beginning, I knew it had to be for less money. Sitting in Abel’s house, looking around at the 40,000 square feet, I said, ‘It’s stunning here—you can’t buy production design like this. What if we shoot it here?’” Levinson told GQ.
The megamansion came complete with luxurious amenities, expansive grounds, and gorgeous views, making it the perfect shooting venue.

There was little done to change the interiors and the singer’s personal home decor can be seen throughout the episodes. According to Levinson, he and his wife “essentially moved into Tesfaye’s house” during filming, while The Weeknd moved out to protect himself from blurring the lines between fiction and reality.
With the mounting negative feedback, the show’s fate for a second season remains unclear. Recent reports indicate that the series will conclude earlier than its initially planned six-episode runtime, wrapping up at the end of the fifth episode.
Several outlets claimed, however, that Levinson’s iteration has always been billed as a five-episode series, so it remains to be seen if Lily-Rose Depp, The Weeknd, and Jocelyn’s house return to our screens for a second season.

If you could watch any TV series for the first time again, what would it be? After someone polled the internet, these are the top-voted television series.
1. Breaking Bad
“Breaking Bad,” shared one. “The greatest tv series of all time. Though it wasn’t a Netflix original, I’d say this was one of the first shows that helped usher us into the streaming era. Truly iconic, and Bryan Cranston is one of the greatest actors of all time..”
2. The Good Place
Many people agreed with, The Good Place. “It is one of those shows that gets more interesting (in new ways) each time you watch it, and I don’t think that can be said for many other shows! Plus, it’s an absolute masterclass in casting, makes intellectual topics fun, and has unique characters — no wonder it’s my favorite.”
3. Futurama
Futurama came in at number three on the list. However, one person noted, “We skip the dog episode, though.” “I completely agree,” said another. “As this is probably my most rewatchable show, there were many memorable first-time moments. The Bee episode is up there for me.”
4. M*A*S*H
“I’m dating myself here, but M*A*S*H,” shared another. “Very, very funny. It’s about the Korean war, but the good thing is that you don’t have to know or even understand anything about history to laugh your bum off. It has its touching moments too.
5. Community
“Community. I’d give anything to see ‘Remedial Chaos Theory’ or ‘Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking’ for the first time again,” one confessed. While others agreed, one added, “You discover new things on the 30th rewatch.”
6. Fleabag
Several people voted for the show, Fleabag. “Oh man, I’m feeling wistful just imagining seeing it again for the first time.” Another added, “I can’t stress how much I would recommend this show even if you don’t see why on the first episode, everyone should watch it. I promise by the end. You’ll be glad you did. It’s only two very short seasons. I came here looking specifically for this show.”
7. The X-Files
“I started watching The X-Files when I was eight and rewatched the entire series when I was 28,” answered another. “It was such an enriching experience. All of the episodes I didn’t get when I was a kid hit deep 20 years later. The truth is out there, my friends.”
8. Fringe

9. Twin Peaks
“Twin Peaks. Every watch-through is a wild ride. But nothing compares to that first watch,” one suggested. Another said, “It’s an intense fever dream of a show and probably a bit quirky for some, but for my money, it’s the most absorbing series of all time.
I’m still obsessed with it years later. For those new to the show, start with seasons one and two. Then watch the movie Fire Walk With Me and then season three, which takes place 25 years later.”
10. Avatar: The Last Airbender
“Avatar: The Last Airbender,” answered another. “I’d give anything to experience it the first time again. I’m going to watch the new series from Avatar studios and hope it can replicate that feeling.”
11. Firefly
Someone volunteered, “Firefly. The best show I never want to see a remake of” shared one. “I honestly don’t want to go through the heartbreak of learning that it was canceled all over again. It’s taken me a lot of time to heal from that,” confessed another.
12. True Detective Season 1
“True Detective Season 1. Peak Matthew McConaughey right there,” one replied. “My life was much better when I watched this the first time.” Another admitted, “I saw this season again recently, and it was even better the second time. I missed so many details the first time around.”
13. Black Mirror
“Black Mirror,” one noted. “It’s not the same when rewatching. Still good, but nothing beats seeing each story for the first time.” A second said, “Yo, that show was wild the first run. It was like anti-anti depressants.”
14. Lost
One person shouted, “Definitely LOST. I’m wondering how it would be to binge the series, but there was something about the year wait to find out what was in the hatch.” A second added, “I love Lost! You can only recreate the magic of watching it for the first time by introducing it to someone who’s never seen it and watching it with them!”
15. The Wire
Finally, The Wire comes in at number fifteen on this list. Someone suggested, “The Wire is great for multiple rewatches. It’s nice having an attachment to the characters from the get-go and being reminded why you like them so much.”

Some are extremely ancient, or even predict the future. In this post we’re looking at a list of books you may not actually want to read!
1. The Book of Soyga
The Book of Soyga, also known as Aldaraia, is a medieval text believed to be a treatise on magic and the occult, written in a ciphered language. Its authorship is attributed to John Dee, an Elizabethan scholar, and occultist, but this has not been definitively proven. The book consists of several sections, including a list of angels, invocations, and a treatise on the nature of magic. It has been difficult for scholars to decipher due to its complex cipher. Despite its mysterious nature, the Book of Soyga remains a fascinating artifact of medieval magic and a subject of ongoing study for scholars of esotericism and occultism.
2. The Prophecies of Nostradamus
The Prophecies of Nostradamus is a book of prophetic verses and quatrains written by Michel de Nostradamus, a French physician, and astrologer in the 16th century. The book contains predictions of future events, including natural disasters and political upheavals, and Nostradamus claimed his prophecies were based on divine inspiration and his own observations of the stars and planetary movements. Despite controversy and skepticism, his quatrains have been translated into many languages and continue to fascinate readers worldwide, with many still studying his writings to unlock the secrets of his prophecies. The Prophecies of Nostradamus are one of the most famous and enduring examples of prophetic literature.
3. The Ripley Scroll
The Ripley Scroll is an important alchemical work from the 15th century, known for its intricate illustrations and detailed instructions on creating the Philosopher’s Stone. The facsimile edition allows for a detailed examination of the entire scroll and includes expert interpretation and transcription of the text to help readers understand the complex symbolism and alchemical processes depicted. It is a fascinating and informative work that will captivate and inspire both scholars of alchemy and curious readers.
4. The Beale Ciphers
The Beale Ciphers are three encrypted messages that supposedly lead to a buried treasure worth over $63 million. They were created by Thomas Beale in the 19th century and given to a friend for safekeeping. The first cipher was cracked, but the other two remain unsolved. The ciphers use a book cipher system and have attracted many attempts at deciphering them. Despite claims of treasure discovery, no solid evidence has been found, making the Beale Ciphers a popular subject of interest among enthusiasts of unsolved mysteries.
5. The Voynich Manuscript
The Voynich manuscript is a handwritten book filled with illustrations of plants, astrological symbols, and human figures, among other things. Its origin dates back to the early 15th century and is named after Wilfrid Voynich, the book dealer who acquired it in 1912. The manuscript is divided into six sections and is written in an unknown script that has never been deciphered despite many attempts. Some experts consider it a hoax, while others believe it may be a coded message from an unknown author. Many theories have been proposed regarding its meaning and purpose, including medical, alchemical, religious, and philosophical texts. Despite its unknown origin and content, the Voynich manuscript has captured the interest of scholars and the public as one of the most intriguing and mysterious manuscripts in history.
6. The Dead Sea Scrolls
The Dead Sea Scrolls are a collection of ancient Jewish texts discovered in the 20th century near the Dead Sea. They were found in eleven caves near the settlement of Qumran, and include biblical and non-biblical Jewish texts, as well as insights into the beliefs and practices of a Jewish sect. The scrolls shed light on the history and development of Judaism and early Christianity in the Second Temple period and have had a significant impact on the study of ancient biblical manuscripts. They are now housed in various institutions and have been widely studied by scholars and popularized in books and films.
7. The Liber Linteus
The Liber Linteus is an ancient Etruscan text that was discovered in the late 19th century in a tomb near the Croatian city of Zagreb. It is believed to date from the 3rd century BCE and is one of the longest surviving Etruscan texts. The text appears to be a ritual calendar or liturgical text, possibly related to a particular religious cult. It is written in the Etruscan language and uses a form of the Etruscan alphabet. Although many parts of the text are missing, the discovery of the Liber Linteus has provided valuable insights into the culture and language of the ancient Etruscans, a civilization that thrived in central Italy before the rise of the Roman Empire.
8. The Gigas Codex
The Codex Gigas is a well-known medieval manuscript that is remarkable for its size and contents. It was created in the early 13th century, possibly in a Benedictine monastery in Bohemia. The manuscript is massive, weighing around 165 pounds and measuring 36 inches tall, 20 inches wide, and nearly 9 inches thick. It contains 310 pages made of calfskin and written in Latin. One of the most notable features of the manuscript is a full-page illustration of the devil, which has led to it being nicknamed the “Devil’s Bible.”
More that Just a Bible
The Codex Gigas includes various texts, such as the entire Bible in Latin, as well as other historical, medical, and magical works. The Chronicle of Bohemia is a prominent text in the manuscript, containing an extensive history of the region up to the 12th century. Today, the Codex Gigas is housed in the National Library of Sweden in Stockholm, where it remains one of the most significant and valuable manuscripts from the medieval era.
From medieval texts on magic and prophecy to ancient manuscripts written in unknown scripts, these books continue to captivate scholars and curious readers alike. While some of them may be difficult to understand or even potentially dangerous, they offer a glimpse into the history, beliefs, and knowledge of past civilizations and cultures.

15 TV Series People Would Pay to Watch for the First Time Again
Have you ever re-watched a series only to realize it hits different the second time around? Here are 15 TV shows people would pay money to watch for the first time all over again.
One of the things we can remember about the show is its ending—is it beautiful or tragic, maybe boring, or doesn’t make sense, or a cliff-hanger Today, we’re discussing 17 TV shows with some of the worst endings ever!
1. ALF
One person said, “Nobody will remember this, but the correct answer is ALF. It was supposed to be a cliffhanger, but the show got canceled, and they ended the series with ALF being captured and taken away to be dissected. GOOD NIGHT KIDS!”
Another person replied, “Eventually, they made a made-for-TV-movie about five years later to attempt a wrap-up called Project: Alf. It had virtually no one from the original series besides Alf’s voice, and as I remember it, was almost universally panned.”
One Redditor added, “I remember seeing the movie. It was horrible. I loved the series as a kid. Nothing beats Alf singing Old time rock ‘n’ roll with a cucumber.”
2. The X-Files
“Glad I searched for X-Files because this was going to be my comment. Honestly the last 3 seasons were… not great (outside of a single episode here and there, usually written by Vince Gilligan, of course). Talk about a show with highs and lows. It could be the best show on television, and the next week it could be the most senseless garbage you’ve ever seen,” one user commented.
“The point for me where I felt the most disappointed was the episode that ‘resolved’ the disappearance of Samantha. Not only was it a confusing mess but it opened up some pretty aggravating plot holes retroactively. HATED it,” another commenter added.
Another user said, “I remember someone suggesting the final episode should have been Chris Carter and a flipchart explaining how everything fits together.”
3. My Name Is Earl
One user commented, “My Name Is Earl ended on a cliffhanger which was canceled soon after S4. The only resolution given was on the first episode of Greg Garcia’s next project Raising Hope where a TV news broadcast in the background said a man in Camden County completed his list. NBC had a knack for making bonehead decisions.”
The second person replied, “Yup. They didn’t plan on it being the series finale, and their surprise cancellation lead to them scrabbling last minute to come up with an ending. That’s what they settled on.”
4. Heroes
One person stated, “Heroes. God the writer’s strike really had that show go wildly off the rails.”
Another commenter said, “Hiro constantly losing his powers every season because of lazy writing and he is too strong… I gave it another try last year couldn’t finish watching the last season again. Still no idea how it ended.”
One Redditor replied, “I still don’t understand how Heroes went from being so good to such utter trash… like how did it happen? They fumbled way before the writers strike. I’m still upset.”
5. Pretty Little Liars
“Pretty little liars, the creator never even knew how it would end. I hate that show because it was great for the first maybe 2 seasons then just terrible from then on,” one user shared.
“It was a bunch of mystery building and no resolution for any of those mysteries. It should just be referred to as blue balls the show,” another added.
“I couldn’t believe what I was watching. I thought it was leading up to some [crazy] masterpiece and instead we got a long-lost evil British twin and Mona’s dollhouse. I was pissed I’d invested all that time into the series and got that [disappointing] of an ending,” another Redditor said.
6. House of Cards
“Should have ended when he got the presidency. It was all weak after that—Frank had a goal in the first few seasons; it’s what drove him. Then he gets it, and his motivation is just…keeping what he has. Perfect end scene was when he did his signature knock on the president’s desk. Cut to black. End show,” one person stated.
“I don’t understand how this didn’t end with Season 4 and having Frank ultimately impeached and arrested after gaining the presidency. That would both complete his arc and fit the theme of house of cards with 4 seasons of 13 episodes each,” the second person replied.
7. Merlin
One person shared, “Merlin. What the hell was it all for!?!?! Arthur rejects magic and they’re back to square one.”
Another person replied, “Not to mention that suddenly it becomes modern day, and poor Merlin is still alive, just waiting around in the hopes that Arthur will come back. He’s had to slowly watch everyone and everything he loves slowly die over the decades centuries. It’s just completely miserable and pointless, Merlin doesn’t deserve that.”
Finally, the third added, “God it’s been over a decade and I’m still mad I’m so glad I’m not the only one. Like why did they even make season 5? They should have ended after four and let fanfic do the rest.”
8. Sherlock
“The whole reason I loved that show was the mystery being explained by cold hard logic and the powers of observation. The entire last season was basically Sherlock sister has mind control which takes effect within seconds. Total BS and I hate it. That was my favourite tv series of all time and I felt physically ill when they just murdered the whole season like that,” one person stated.
Another user replied, “I wanted to mention this too. I loved Sherlock at first but there’s so much wrong with it that, and the 4th season really made me look at it differently. It was already going downhill, but then it really took a nosedive. My mother was a fan as well and I just told her not to watch the last season by explaining it was so bad. Fans were sure there was a secret 4th episode that was going to make everything okay again. She got the message.”
“Same. I binged Sherlock hard. Got to his sister and I totally stopped watching it,” a third commenter added.
8. Jericho
One person stated, “Jericho. That show had so much potential and they just loosely wrapped it up leaving me very unfulfilled with no conclusion or closure.”
Another added, “Jericho really did have a lot of potential. The comic books wrapped it up but I still wish they had made more of the TV show.”
One Redditor replied, “It wasn’t the writers it was the network. They were given three more seasons to finish but then when more than half the season was done they pulled the rug and the writers had to write a conclusion. It wasn’t great but acceptable under circumstances. The writers wrote comic books after the show which further went through the story and it was actually a nice conclusion to the storyline.”
9. Xena: Warrior Princess
“Xena: Warrior Princess… 20 years later and I am still [angry],” one person shared.
“Ah, I had to scroll way too far for this, I was starting to think I was the only one who remembered it! I was a Xena fanatic when it was airing, and the ending gutted me. Deciding to introduce yet another character that was important to Xena in the past, in the finale? A whole village of innocent people dying, but it was blamed on her despite it being an accident, if I recall correctly? The sheer unnecessary amount of brutality, and leaving Gabs alone in the end? So cruel. When I rewatch the series, I skip the finale and pretend the show ends on Many Happy Returns or When Fates Collide,” one Redditor replied.
Another added, “I found my emotional support thread! They did us dirty in the 90’s with that ending. The reveal of Xena’s body and Gabrielle’s reaction full on TRAUMATIZED me.”
10. Star Trek Enterprise
One user shared, “Star Trek Enterprise. It was a fun prequel that looked at the start of the United federation of planets. The last episode was an insult. A main character was killed off and it was in a TNG holodeck! Bloody rubbish, I’m stil livid.”
The second person replied, “That’s what I came here to say. Absolutely terrible ending to a series that otherwise had a great last season. I’m almost convinced that they tried to create a bad last episode because how did anyone think that was a good idea?”
The third added, “Yeah ST Enterprise is criminally underrated, especially toward the end…except for that awful finale.”
11. The Last Man on Earth
“Last Man on Earth, the show got cancelled on a cliffhanger and we never saw an end to it,” one person shared.
“I needed some closure, closure, closure, closuuuuuuure,” replied another.
“They canceled it at the same time as Brooklyn 99. Everyone resurrected Brooklyn 99 and I was waiting for Last Man on Earth to get the same reaction but I felt like the only one who cared. I’ve never laughed at a show harder. Still sad,” one user shared.
12. Teen Titans
“The show ended on a gut punch episode that was far more mature than anything else on Cartoon Network before or since. Emotionally clever storytelling that let the audience down. It was heartbreaking that they chose to end that relationship that way. But they expected a 6th season. To tie off the ongoing rivalry with Slade/tie up every character’s arc. It was canceled on the penultimate season. It had set up all the pieces set up—had finally graduated to the next level of storytelling; ratings were high…..then bam. Canceled. Now we’re left with a downer ending of an episode. It’s fantastic—but clearly not designed to be the real end,” one person stated.
“No no, I agree. Sad ending that almost felt like a universe-death when beast boy went out the all white doors. Surreal, depressing, not the best way to end a serious but light-hearted show,” another added.
13. The 100
One person stated, “The 100. Stupidest ending ever.”
Another person replied, “I’m so glad other people have this opinion. I binged it a few months ago and genuinely enjoyed the series, but the last season made me wish I never started it and erase the series from my mind. They destroyed Bellamy’s character and then killed him off in the lamest way possible.”
One commenter added, “My gf started watching that show and I swear all I ever heard was ‘my people this’ and ‘my people that.’ If you had a drinking game every time they said ‘my people’ in that show you’d be dead before the first commercial break.”
14. The Man in the High Castle
One person stated, “I feel like that show lost a lot of its vision after Season 1. John Smith, Minister Tagomi, and Chief Inspector Kido basically just carried the show by sheer force of personality.”
Another user shared, “That ending [makes me angry] more than GoT, which Also [made me angry]!”
One Redditor commented, “I was too confused to even be mad about that ending. I feel like they were trying to be profound or something, but can’t figure out what the message was supposed to be. Everybody’s moving in now?”
15. Star vs the Forces of Evil
“The entire show was derailed to make the popular ship canon, and they didn’t even do it well. And let’s not get into how the characters decided the best way to stop a genocide in their kingdom was to create a far bigger genocide on a multiversal scale, stranding countless innocent people away from their homes and families, but that’s okay because Star gets to be with her new boyfriend. There’s so much more I can get at, but this is GOT level bad. This show could’ve gone down with the likes of Gravity Falls but they massively dropped the ball in the last season,” one person stated.
“Once they woke up Eclipsa’s husband and he was completely harmless I finally admitted to myself they had abandoned whatever plan was originally in place,” another added.
“Man, the first 2 seasons were a lot of fun. But then shipping took over and it all went downhill,” another commenter shared.
16. Game of Thrones
One person shared, “I didn’t mind Bran as a character until that moment. Then I wanted him to get crippled all over again.”
Another replied, “Dude came with his own throne.”
Then the third added, “‘Why do you think I came all this way.’ Basically implies that he orchestrated literally everything in the show to make himself king. Bran is one of the greatest villains in TV history.”

Top 10 Worst Human Inventions of All Time
Some inventions are world-changing, and some of them, well, they change the world in the wrong ways. Here are some of the worst inventions Redditors could think of.
10 Famous Celebrities Who Look Like They Smell Terrible
We’ve all had moments of hygiene faux pas—but these celebrities just look like they don’t take care of themselves at all.
There are tons of amazing TV shows that set the world on fire with their stories but, for some reason or another weren’t continued. It’s tragic enough when a long-running series gets curtained, but it’s even more heartbreaking when a stellar show begins to hit its stride, and then gets abruptly canceled. We turned to Reddit to find out which canceled shows people miss the most. Whether you’re mourning a beloved show, or want an introduction to some television gold, here are 10 series that came and left far too quickly!
1. Mindhunter
One user said, “Probably anything canceled by Netflix.”
Another user replied, “Mindhunter has entered the chat.”
A third added, “Mindhunter is the first series I actually got super bummed out about being canceled. The story, actors, and music. Shame.”
One Redditor commented, “Soundtrack was elite. Almost got lost in the shuffle of everything else is so well done.”
Another user shared, “Inside Job made it two seasons before getting axed on a cliffhanger. I still want to know what happens.”
One commenter replied, “This is how I found out Inside Job got canceled… sigh.”
2. Rome
One user exclaimed, “ROME!!!!”
One commenter added, “Yes. Rome! It was Game of Thrones before Game of Thrones.”
One user replied, “Rome walked so GoT could run….into a post.”
“Yeah, the later seasons weren’t as good, but I don’t know how much better they could be considering everything that happened behind the scenes… Though I guess the real weakness was injecting Caesar and that one guy’s the stupid horrible son. Ugh…yeah…now I’m remembering everything…geez… you’re right…I was only thinking about the first season and the prequel,” one user responded.
3. 2003 Teen Titans
One user posted, “This may seem a bit childish, but Teen Titans—the original one from 2003…”
Another replied, “It’s a bummer because every character got one season where they were the focus of the ongoing plot. Season 1 was Robin, season 2 was Terra, season 3 was Cyborg, season 4 was Raven, and season 5 was Beast Boy. It was set up perfectly to have a 6th season focused on Starfire, and we never got it.”
One commenter added, “Rewatched the whole series reasonably recently. It really was such a unique show for the time. I remember seeing reruns on Boomerang after the series had finished airing on CN. Unfortunately, they no longer air anything from the original series or movie. Season 5 absolutely ended in a way that demanded something more, and the movie did not scratch that itch.”
4. Reaper
“Reaper—Absolutely loved that [show], oh and Firefly, but everyone says that,” one Redditor posted.
Another user added, “I hate that they don’t cast Tyler Labine in more comedy stuff. Reaper was a fantastic showcase of his hilarity, and one of my all-time favorite movies is Tucker and Dale vs. Evil.”
One user commented, “I can’t believe Reaper was so far down the list.”
Another added, “From what I remember, it was canceled because they wanted The Vampire Diaries in that time slot. Guess they made a good move, considering the success of TVD. But I still hate them for canceling it.”
One user added, “The network canceled it, they tried to syndicate to SciFi, but the cast would have to take pay cuts, so they weren’t on board, and then the showrunners were going to produce a comic book to at least wrap the cliffhanger they left us on, but… nothing. They did at least do an interview where they revealed the secrets behind Sam and the devil’s deal, his parentage, etc., if you’re interested. (Warning: spoilers for a show canceled 14 years ago).”
5. Jericho
One user posted, “Jericho.”
Another added, “Every time I see this thread, I come just to upvote or add Jericho. Nuts to CBS.”
One user also commented, “Same. I keep scrolling until I see Jericho, and then I upvote.”
“Let’s be honest. This would be one of the best ‘remakes’ of our time. Jericho and not just season one and a half. But seasons 3, 4, 5, and 6. Let’s see how the country is rebuilt. I would watch every last second of this. I also really like that long before preppers and all this other [stuff]. They were doing things that were way ahead of their time. Granted, they were probably public knowledge to somebody, but they weren’t mainstream. And I thought that was really cool that they were touching on a lot of topics. I think this show was ahead of its time, and it was canceled during a writer’s strike, and that [was terrible],” one user responded.
Another user concluded, “I think HBO or Paramount would do a good job on a Jericho reboot. However, if it ever does happen, I hope they use the original cast.”
6. Venture Bros
One user posted, “Venture Bros.”
One of the users then shared, “Venture Bros was easily a solid decade ahead of its time. The Boys, Invincible, Harley Quinn, Doom Patrol, Peacemaker. All these shows deal with deconstructing the superhero mythos, and the Venture Brothers did this in 2004. At least we’re getting a movie.”
“Venture Bros started as a pitch-perfect parody of old Hanna-Barbera cartoons and went on to skewer every element of pop culture they could get their hands on while maintaining well-written, context-driven comedy. It was never cheap. It was well-acted and scripted. It grew and evolved and allowed its characters to step outside the narrow channels they were born in, developing them from single characteristic, classic archetypes into something more complex. I [really] love the Venture Bros. Dead excited for the film, but I’d equally take another few seasons,” one user replied.
Another user concluded, “Honestly, the fact that most (all?) VB characters have some sort of arc is part of what makes the show great. Most shows (especially adult cartoons) have these flat, static characters. Venture bros are nothing like that.”
7. I Am Not Okay With This
One user shared, “I Am Not Okay With This.”
Another responded, “It had so much potential, not to mention they left so much unanswered at the end of the season purposely so they could make a second one.”
One Redditor commented, “Netflix does not [care at all] about finishing a story. It is not worth investing any time in any of their content, even the stuff that looks good.”
One user replied, “This cancellation made me give up on Netflix. I just can’t get excited by anything on their platform at this point because I know whatever I get interested in, no matter how good it is, will get dropped without a conclusion. I WON’T LET THEM HURT ME AGAIN!”
8. Pushing Daisies
One Redditor posted, “Pushing Daisies.”
One user replied, “Definitely this one. I loved the series and wanted to see where it was going.”
Another user seconded, “This and Dead Like Me. Both sensational shows.”
Another commenter responded, “I’ve just come to accept that anything Bryan Fuller makes, I’m going to love and then be heartbroken when it’s canceled too soon.”
One user commented, “Or when he’s ousted from it. American Gods took an extreme nosedive when he left.”
One user also shared, “I don’t really fault Fuller for Discovery. After all, CBS dropped him early in development, and they only used some of his outlines. As a result, the final product is different from what he was originally going for. As an example, he wanted to do an anthology series that explored many different eras of Star Trek.”
One user concluded, “Yeah, I thought he was there for the whole production of season one, but reading the Wiki page, it looks like there was a lot of turmoil early on.”
9. Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency
One of the Reddit users shared, “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. Edit: so many people didn’t like the 2nd season, which is entirely fair. It’s hard to live up to the expectations of such a solid first season. The reason I personally would like a 3rd season is that the cliffhanger is so damn tasty. Also, I want more Rowdy 3 (6?), Alan Tudyk, and Tyler Labine.
“I recognize that it deviates completely from the source material, and I understand why a lot of people are upset by that. There are a lot of examples where I hated the adaptation (looking at you, World War Z), but I personally believe this is a perfect example of how you take inspiration and run with it.
“A dark, gritty version where Dirk was the fat slob the books described him as might also be fantastic, and I’d probably watch… it. However, I think this adaptation perfectly captures the whimsical nonsense of Douglas Adam’s writing, and I’m ok with it. It’s just a shame that the show was attached to such a scumbag. Otherwise, we might have seen that 3rd season that gave us all the answers they teased.”
One user commented, “That show is still my absolute favorite. With absolute [great lines] like, ‘The Rowdy Three!’, ‘But there are 4 of them!’, ‘I’m WILDLY aware.’
“They captured Douglas Adams’ whimsical nonsense so perfectly in that show. I feel like the second series went completely off the rails, but I still loved it.”
“This was so gloriously, bizarrely brilliant. It was completely different from the (excellent) books, but it took on some of the core ideas and added a bunch of its own, then ran simultaneously with them in multiple directions. It was a joy to watch and made me feel an almost childlike wonder. It surprised and delighted me; a modern-day fairy-tale for grown-ups. Gutted it was canceled,” one user replied.
Another user added, “It was a book adaptation done right. Borrowed concepts from the book, but instead of trying to squeeze the book’s story onto the screen (which would have been a… trainwreck), they went their own way and made something unique.”
10. Better Off Ted
One Redditor posted, “Better Off Ted. The show was a brilliant satire of corporate business that was far too funny. The amazing cast was incredibly quotable and ended far too soon. Punisher should have had a season 2 with more gang/mafia shenanigans. Altered Carbon should have been able to wrap up its story. Rubicon. It didn’t have to be a continuation, but I would love to see more like it. Edit: I have corrected it. Punisher had a season 2—my mistake.
Another added, “The episode where they installed motion detectors for everything that didn’t see black people, so they had to assign every black person a white person to open doors, but then because of diversity rules, they had to hire more black people was phenomenal.
Ted: ‘That’s more than weird, Veronica. That’s basically, well… racist.’
Veronica: ‘The company’s position is that it’s actually the opposite of racist because it’s not targeting black people. It’s just ignoring them. So they insist the worst people can call it is indifferent.’
Ted: ‘Well, they know it has to be fixed, right? Please… at least say they know that.’
Veronica: ‘Of course they do, and they’re working on it. In the meantime, they’d like everyone to celebrate the fact that it sees Hispanics, Asians, Pacific Islanders, and Jews.’”
One user concluded, “Definitely. Whenever people ask me about good, fun TV, they usually know the standards like Office and 30 Rock, so I point them to Better off Ted and outline this specific episode. And each time, they are eager to check it out. It’s such an unusual, new trope that hits all the right points.”

Christina Hall and her husband Josh have a busy summer ahead.
An all-new season of “Christina on the Coast,” the Southern California-based HGTV docuseries that chronicles Christina’s home renovation and design business and family life, is set to debut June 29. In addition to transforming a new slate of clients’ coastal-inspired homes, Christina will also tackle a remodeling project inside the ultra-modern Newport Beach, CA, mansion she purchased in 2022 for $12 million.
“Now that Christina is settled in a new home closer to family and friends, the busy mom of three, author and entrepreneur also will tackle her own kitchen overhaul alongside husband Josh Hall,” according to a press release.
The property, built in 2021, is chock full of luxury touches like floor-to-ceiling windows, an “interstellar” home theater, and a lap pool. And although we have yet to get a good view of the kitchen, it’s hard to believe a home this new—and this deluxe—is worthy of a renovation. But that’s all the more reason to tune in.
Prior to buying in Newport Beach, Christina and Josh, who tied the knot in September 2022, put down roots in a modern farmhouse on 23 acres in Franklin, TN. The southern suburb of Nashville was their home base while filming the first season of “Christina in the Country,” the countrified spin-off that chronicled the HGTV stars expanding their business on the other side of the country.
Just in case you’re keeping track, Christina separated from her second husband, Ant Anstead, in September 2020, and their divorce became final in June. They had been married since December 2018, and stayed together for just under two years.
Christina explained on Instagram that she and Josh had been dating in strict privacy for “several months” prior to her going public with their relationship in July 2021.
“I met Josh when I wasn’t in a state of fear or fight-or-flight … I had taken time off social, hired a spiritual coach and smoked a Bufo toad (which basically reset my brain and kicked out years of anxiety in 15 mins),” Christina said on Instagram. “When we met this past spring, the synchronicities hit us so hard and fast they were impossible to ignore.”
In any case, Christina seems to dig romantic relationships with men in the real estate industry. Her first marriage, to her “Flip or Flop” co-host, Tarek El Moussa, lasted over ten years, and their TV series ended in 2022 after 10 seasons.
Ahead of the sixth season of “Christina on the Coast,” here are a few surprising facts every HGTV fan should know about Josh Hall.
1. He’s a real estate agent in Austin
Hall is a real estate agent at Spyglass Realty, having relocated to Austin, TX, in 2017 “after visiting and falling in love with its beauty,” he explained in his bio. “I just could not leave without buying a home of my own in this little slice of heaven. I was actually born not too far from Austin, at Ft. Hood Army base where my father was stationed.”
Yet while his bio and contact information used to be proudly displayed on Spyglass, all that’s there now is his square-jawed headshot. Could this mean that he may soon be moving into Christina’s gorgeous new Newport Beach home, and getting his real estate license in California? Perhaps. In fact, we wouldn’t be at all surprised if we soon see him in cameos (or more) in “Christina on the Coast.”
2. He’s not a real estate snob
A review of his Realtor.com® profile reveals that he was responsible for 15 home sales in the past two years, representing either the buyer or seller. The market in Austin has been feverish over the past two years, and Hall appears to have specialized in homes in the $200,000 to $900,000 range. Most are traditional, two- to four-bedroom houses, some on sizable lots measuring an acre or more.
No Instagram, no Facebook, no Twitter feed, not even LinkedIn for business purposes! Believe us, we looked. He may be the last remaining real estate agent of his generation who doesn’t at least promote his listings somewhere online.
Christina seems to like it that way, and we can’t blame her.
“The internet and social are great for businesses or staying up to date on fam / friends but also can be toxic and (let’s be real) pretty fake,” she wrote on Instagram. “Josh doesn’t have social media.”
4. He was formerly a cop—for all the right reasons
Hall’s bio also reveals this: “While living in southern California, I realized my passion was to help others and I became a police officer at the age of 21. Before my 16 year career was cut short due to injuries sustained in the line of duty and ultimately leading to an early retirement, I took great pride in helping people with everyday difficulties and putting them at ease.”
It seems he’ll once again be protecting Southern California properties and citizens, at least in a more personal way, as his future wife and three stepchildren all call Orange County home.
5. He loves dogs
In Hall’s spare time, he says, “You can find me exploring with my two dogs, floating on one of Austin’s many bodies of water or flying to rescue puppers from kill shelters.” Talk about a noble cause!
Since Christina already has two pups of her own, a Rottweiler named Biggie and a French bulldog named Cash, her Newport Beach home is already pet-friendly. But the question is, will Hall and his pack all fit inside their home—and on the family bed?
6. His sisters are reality TV–famous
Something else Hall and Christina have in common is reality TV. In fact, Hall’s younger sisters are deeply steeped in it. His sister Stacie Hall Adams appeared regularly on “The Hills” as Stacie the bartender. His sister Jessica was a former Playboy model, hosted the MTV reality series “Burned, and made regular appearances on “Kendra” and “Kendra on Top,” as the close friend of fellow Playboy star Kendra Wilkinson.
7. He has an uncanny link to Tarek El Moussa’s fiancee, Heather Rae Young
Hall’s sister Jessica now hosts the podcast “Flashbacks” solo, but she formerly hosted it with bestie Heather Rae Young of “Selling Sunset” fame. Yes, that Heather Rae Young, the one who’s engaged to El Moussa, Christina’s first husband. Hollywood is such a small town!
8. He’s inked to the brink
Oh, the tales Hall’s tattoos could tell, like what’s up with that hatted man adjacent to his left pec, and why the spiderweb on his left knee? He must have his reasons for them all, and he could spend countless hours in the telling.
9. He’s already close to Christina’s kids
He appears to already be fully accepted by Christina’s kids, at least her two oldest, Taylor and Brayden. A recent Instagram post revealed that the four of them spent a quick, kid-friendly weekend in Las Vegas: “24 hours in Las Vegas with the big kids—wave pool, aquarium, steak dinner repeat ❤️🎰.” Cheers to that!
10. Christina has his back
Don’t you dare be all judgy about Christina’ third engagement on social media, or Christina will come out swinging.
She’s posted several Instagram tirades, including this one: “People are way too concerned about other people’s lives. They spend so much time judging others to avoid working on their own sh*t … Life is short. Do what you love with the ones you love. For me, that’s Josh, my kids and a few close friends and co-workers. ✌🏼”
