There are plenty of trends that used to be mostly popular among the low-middle income people that changed when they became popular with rich people. Whether it is a band, a clothing style, or a hobby, nothing remains the same once wealth and status get involved. But what are some of the things that poor people loved before they were spoiled by the wealthy? Here, we look at 20 things that once brought joy to those without much money—until their newfound popularity caused them to be re-crafted as symbols of luxury and extravagance.
One user shared, “Living in warehouses in the industrial, rundown side of town.”
Another user agreed and commented, “Yes! They tore down all the real lofts to build condos they call lofts.”
“Etsy,” posted one user.
Another user commented, “There are SO many accounts for cheap stuff from China that you could get on many other websites as well. No, I come to Etsy for homemade stuff and to support artistic individuals.”
One user added, “Yep, I remember trying to avoid the temptation of Shein by almost buying some unique pearl belly dance waist chains from there for 20 dollars. Dear reader, they were from Shein, without the tags and with a hefty 200% price increase. Thank God for the reviewer who exposed them.”
One Redditor unfolded the riches’ hack and posted, “Food banks. My local food bank put out a news article basically saying that rich people need to stop using the food bank as a ‘life hack’ to lower their grocery bills.”
One user grasped and commented, “OMG. That’s so evil. Some people really have no conscience.”
One Redditor shared, “Living in arty neighborhoods.”
Another user replied,” This is what I was looking for. Creative poor people have been investing in poor neighbourhoods forever. They use their talent to make it an excellent place they enjoy living in. The rich say, ‘Hey, I want to be cool, let’s buy this.’ And then they price the poor out of the haven they created and turn it into a stale, crowded, overpriced place. TL;DR—Gentrification”
“Champion brand clothes. I had a lot when I was a kid because it was the cheapest possible, and now all that s- is considered ‘vintage,’” posted one user.
Another responded, “Reminds me of Fila and Puma.”
An online Redditor commented, “Ebay. It used to be so useful to get all kinds of cheap or unique things. Then more and more big commercial sellers joined the club, and eventually, eBay itself forgot about what and who made their platform a success in the first place.”
“I’ve had my eBay account since ’98 when you had to send physical checks/money orders through the mail. It felt like an online flea market or garage sale where you’d get to know certain buyers and sellers. Feedback was critical, and you never bid on something you didn’t plan to buy because any hit to your reputation was a huge deal.
“It was a nice little collecting community until they allowed resellers of knock-off goods in and turned the whole thing into another Amazon. I occasionally still sell collectibles, but the number of people who don’t bother paying is huge now. I miss old eBay,” stated one user.
One user also shared, “Blue-collar residential neighborhoods in the city.”
Another user commented, “Yes! This is my answer, too. Not just houses in general but poor neighborhoods, in particular, are being f- over. You can see the tale here in the property history on Realtor.com. Lots and lots of houses were previously on the market for $50,000, bought, and then flipped and listed for $250k to $300k in a ZIP code where the median income is $34.5k, a good $20k less than the median income for the city. Shockingly, no one wants to spend $300k for a s- remodel in the ‘hood, so most of these houses sit empty unless/until they’re put on Airbnb.”
One added, “I think the problem with gentrification in the US is twofold: a failure to provide a path to ownership for often at-risk residents (which leads to slumlords) and a failure to protect the at-risk pop who DO own property from massive tax hikes.
“No one is opposed to tearing down condemned houses and building new ones, but the neighbours who have been there should not get affected by massive tax increases.”
“Quiet out-of-the-way country cabins sitting by lakes. Now they are overpriced Airbnbs,” posted one user.
Another user commented, “I’d even say Airbnbs themselves. They started as a potentially cheap alternative to hotels run by people with extra space they aren’t doing anything with. Now people build guest houses specifically for Airbnb and treat It like a full-on rental.”
One user suggested, “If you do decide to go to an Airbnb as a getaway, I’d recommend looking for one on a farm. From what I’ve seen, they’re usually run by the farmers as a sort of side gig and not some company or wealthy person.
“The last one I went to was out in the middle of nowhere with like 70 acres that you’re free to explore, and it was actually at an animal rehabilitation center. They rented out their spare room as an Airbnb as a way to bring in more money to put towards the animals. It was insanely cool.
“They had a ton of animals that were being rehabilitated. The living room had a giant window that looked straight into the snow macaque enclosure. It was their inside feeding area, so you could watch them chill and eat like 2 feet away. There was a flock of chickens that would follow you around; most of them were bald or had b-m legs or other issues that would get them slaughtered at a farm. There were storks, peacocks, a very playful otter, spider monkeys, a d-head heron that kept pecking at my boots, boxes, and a lot more, but they even had tigers. Apparently, they were rescued from a carnival and couldn’t be released into the wild. It was so calm and also sweet to know that you were contributing a bit just by staying there.
“Edit: guess I should’ve included it in the original comment. It’s called ‘The Suite at the Ridge’ in Hocking Hills, Ohio. The Airbnb itself wasn’t crazy lovely or anything, but it was perfectly fine, and you’re there to be around the animals anyways. Unfortunately, I can’t post pictures here because I have some I’d love to share.
“Edit 2: I can’t seem to get the listing to show up in a search, only by looking through messages and it says that the host ‘no longer has access to Airbnb’ so I’m not sure what happened. We went in January, so it wasn’t even a year ago. But if you want to look at other sites, the sanctuary is Union Ridge Wildlife Center.
“Edit 3: Don’t Google the name of the wildlife center unless you want my happy post to become a sad post. Turns out it wasn’t as wholesome as I thought it was.”
One online user stated, “Van life and tiny house living.”
Another user replied, “It’s like they gentrified the trailer park.”
Another user commented, “Not where I live. We still have proper trailer parks loaded with meth, pit bulls and domestic violence.”
A user commented, “Buying a “fixer-upper” home and spending weekends working on it. I was really looking forward to that.”
One user responded, “I’ve seen so many nice period houses completely gutted on the inside by modern renovations. If I buy a 1930s house, I don’t want a stupid Scandinavian minimalist interior!”
“Thrift shopping. I’m not *thrifting* I’m f- broke,” one user commented.
Another user added, “Sometimes I feel like it’s cheaper to buy clothes at Target or Walmart brand new than it is to buy from a thrift store.”
A Redditor stated, “Counterculture-based festivals. Burning Man was on my bucket list until rich folks started showing up with bodyguards and started establishing private zones.”
One user added, “Counterculture as a whole seems to be getting gentrified. In the Netherlands, there are a lot of places you can go to that have a ‘counterculture aesthetic’ or more specifically, ‘squat aesthetic’ but have exorbitant prices. Squatting used to be vast, and multiple venues in the Netherlands (like Paradiso and Melkweg) have their humble beginnings as a squat. Ruigoord, a village close to Amsterdam that got squatted 50 years ago, also completely lost its soul and is filled with yuppies.
“Counterculture is being gentrified, sanitized and sold back to people at exorbitant prices as something ‘new, weird and hip.’”
One user posted, “Going to the farmers market.” A user replied, “I went to a farmer’s market where only one vendor sold fruits and vegetables. There were three boutique honey stands and an old white lady selling ‘native’ art. St Philips Plaza in Tucson, for anyone who knows what I’m talking about. So dumb.”
“Houses. We poor people would work our entire lives to own one. Property became a great investment and a way to increase wealth, so rich people bought them. Not to live in as intended but to rent to the poor and keep them poor by renting so they will never be able to save enough to afford their own.” a user added to the thread.
One Redditor shared, “Fajitas. I remember being able to get skirt steak really cheap and sometimes for free.”
One user replied, “That goes for any ‘cheap’ cut of meat.”
“Pickup trucks. They used to be much cheaper,” one user posted.
Another user replied, “They’re luxury minivans now.”
One user posted, “Unrestricted land. Everything gets an HOA now, and they try to force you into their jurisdiction.
“My family fought an HOA targeting my grandmother’s house. She had lived there for ten years before the HOA was even an idea, or the new area with big houses was cleared for construction before that.
“We ended up having Rock in her house, skirting, and rock under her deck due to insufficient money to fight an HOA she never signed on to.
“If an HOA comes out where I live (which might happen in the next 15 years), I will fight them tooth and nail for spite alone.”
“Off cuts of meat,” shared one user.
Another user replied, “I remember when chicken wings were 10 cents because they could not give them away. Now, they are an industry. They break a wing in half and call it two wings.”
One user shared, “Concerts and festivals.”
Another Redditor added, “I agree with this one. I have lost all interest in the concert/festival experience.”
“Brisket burnt ends. BBQ joints used to toss them or give them away for free,” One commenter added.
Another user replied, “BBQ used to be poor people’s food. Nobody wanted to eat ribs and brisket because they are hard to cook. Now every upper-middle-class person has a smoker, and BBQ costs an arm and a leg.”

A local home goods store that stocks recycled glass and furniture as well as merchandise from nonprofit groups is now open for weekend shoppers.
Diggs, at 228 S. Tucson Blvd., recently leased a 1,200-square-foot shop, south of Broadway.
From tables constructed from discarded doors to bottle scrubbers made from coconut shells and potholders crafted with corks, owner Dawn Elliott has hand-selected the inventory.
Indoor houseplants are a central theme in the shop, and she hopes to eventually add an outdoor plant area for shoppers.
A thrift store frequenter, Elliott buys glassware that she finds and makes decorative plants with rock décor.
She also shops flea markets and estate sales, and her husband, Patrick Trimarco, has found some throwaway gems in brush-and-bulky piles to transform into furniture.
The store also sources items from nonprofit groups and friends have brought Elliott items from estate sales.
“My ideal customer is someone who wants to make their home cozy,” Elliott said, “And, do some good.”
Already working full-time, she hopes to grow and expand the business hours. Currently, Diggs is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In a statement released after market close, Washington Mutual said it will have to set aside far more than expected for loan losses, leading to a fourth quarter loss and massive restructuring.
The Seattle-based thrift and mortgage lender plans to cut more than 3,000 jobs and slash its dividend by 73 percent, while also offering $2.5 billion in convertible preferred stock in a bid to raise capital.
“A substantial infusion of new capital, significant expense reductions, the major change in our home loans business, and our planned dividend reduction all combine to further fortify WaMu’s strong capital and liquidity position,” said WaMu Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Kerry Killinger.
“These actions will also better position us to pursue various initiatives, particularly in our leading retail banking business — which is at the core of our business strategy.”
WaMu will discontinue all lending through it subprime mortgage channel, closing roughly 190 of 336 home loan centers and sales offices, and nine Home Loans processing and call centers.
The layoffs will affect 22 percent of its Home Loans staff, or roughly 2,600 employees, along with 550 corporate jobs and support positions.
The thrift will also close WaMu Capital Corp., its institutional broker-dealer business, as well as its mortgage banker finance warehouse lending operation.
The cost of these so-called “expense reduction measures” will result in approximately $140 million in additional expenses in the fourth quarter.
The restructuring will be accompanied by an increase in retail mortgage lending via its many banking branches nationwide, a route many large banks are leaning towards.
The banking giant will take a fourth quarter after-tax charge of approximately $1.6 billion for the writedown of all the goodwill associated with the Home Loans business, and now expects its fourth quarter provision for loan losses to be between $1.5 and $1.6 billion.
The company currently expects its first quarter 2008 provision for loan losses to range between $1.8 to $2.0 billion, and to remain elevated through 2008.
WaMu believes total U.S. mortgage loan origination will fall to $1.5 trillion in 2008, the lowest level in eight years, from an estimated $2.3 trillion to $2.4 trillion this year.
Shares of Washington Mutual fell $1.59, or 8.00%, to $18.29 in after hours trading.
Update: WaMu upped their preferred stock offering to $3 billion.

I personally have many friends who are resellers, and I was a reseller in the past as well (before I started blogging full-time!). It can be a great way to make cash income.
Whether you’re looking to make just a little extra cash or if you want a full-time job, this is a good option to look into.
I recommend watching the free webinar Turn Your Passion For Visiting Thrift Stores, Yard Sales & Flea Markets Into A Profitable Reselling Business In As Little As 14 Days to learn how to make money by flipping items.

A popular cash job is babysitting. Most moms and dads need good babysitters, and they’re happy to pay a fair amount for someone to watch their kids while they go out for the evening.
Babysitters make a good income these days – typically around $20 per hour.
If you think it might be tough to earn money this way, don’t worry – it’s possible. Just posting a simple message on your Facebook page could connect you with someone who needs a babysitter.
Note: I recommend making sure you check with your city or state before you begin. Also, make sure that your home is safe (if you watch children in your own home) and that you are CPR certified.

When you’re looking for a way to make some extra money, you can do home and yard maintenance jobs. These are tasks people don’t have time to do themselves (or they simply don’t like to do!).
For example, if you like being outdoors, landscaping work might be perfect for you. Jobs in this area include lawn mowing, trimming hedges, and planting flowers.
If you prefer working indoors, you might focus on home maintenance tasks instead. Tasks like house cleaning or helping to organize a garage are commonly needed.
These jobs usually pay in cash at the end of the day or after the job is done. Usually, the homeowner pays you in cash before you go home.
Pet groomers clean pets so that they look nice and healthy (and everyone needs a regular bath!). If you like pets, then you may enjoy being a pet groomer.
Pet groomers can sometimes get paid in cash, especially when you run your own business. I have seen many pet grooming businesses that operate out of a trailer that the person pulls behind their vehicle. They go straight to the person’s home, wash their dog in their mobile dog cleaning trailer, and then collect the cash payment once they are done.
Your work will include brushing and cutting fur, trimming nails, giving baths, and maybe even brushing the pet’s teeth. You make sure pets are clean, comfortable, and looking good. Sometimes, pet owners might also ask you to style their pets’ fur in a special way as well (such as by pinning back fur out of the dog’s eyes).
Working as a pet sitter can be a simple and enjoyable way to earn extra cash.
As a pet sitter, your job is to keep an eye on someone’s pet while they are away. This can include feeding, walking, and playing with the pet to make sure it’s happy and healthy. You may need to stay overnight at the pet owner’s home or the pet may stay with you (it simply depends on what you and the pet owner agree on).
You can find pet sitting jobs on Rover. I have personally used this site countless times to find a pet sitter for my dogs.
Another under the table job similar to this is becoming a house sitter. House sitters watch homes while the owner is away and this can be a great side hustle. I talk more about this in a section further below.
When you’re looking for work that’s paid directly in cash, without formal paperwork, you might want to start with house cleaning.
So, what does a house cleaner include? Well, you’ll do things like dusting, vacuuming floors, and cleaning bathrooms. Sometimes, you’ll wash dishes or do laundry. If the house has pets, you might need to clean up after them too. Some house cleaners may even specialize in areas like extensive deep cleans that may take a whole day or even many days (or weeks!).
House cleaners earn between $25 to $50+ an hour for cleaning for others.
To get paid in cash means that you’ll typically work for yourself and get paid once you are done with cleaning for the day or after a week or two.
Getting this kind of business going isn’t costly because you probably already have the cleaning supplies you need (like a mop and vacuum). You can let people know about your services on Facebook, tell your friends and family, or create an account on Care’s website.
Dog walkers are exactly that – they walk dogs to make money.
You can find these jobs posted on platforms like Rover or just by posting something on your personal Facebook page advertising your dog walking service.
As a dog walker, your job is to take dogs for their daily walks while their owners are busy. This may be a walk that is around 30 minutes to one hour each time, but it all depends on what you have agreed on with the owner.
Walking pets can earn you about $15 to $25 or even more for each walk per animal.
If you’re good with a snow shovel or snowblower, snow removal might be a great job for you. This work can pay cash, making it a common under the table job.
When it snows, many people need help clearing their driveways and sidewalks. Some jobs are for one-time events, while others might need you all winter right after it snows to keep their driveways and sidewalks safe for people to walk or drive on.
You can find snow removal jobs by asking your neighbors or local businesses. Sometimes people put up signs along the roads in neighborhoods or ads online looking for help when there’s a big snowstorm.
People usually pay right after you’re done with the work.
If you enjoy using makeup and know all the latest beauty trends, being a makeup artist can be a fun way to earn money.
It’s a job where you can be creative and help people look their best for events like weddings or photo shoots.
As a makeup artist, you’ll work with different tools like brushes, sponges, and a palette of colors. Your job will be to apply makeup on clients’ faces. You could work with all sorts of people, from friends and family to clients in your area.
When you house sit, you’re taking care of someone else’s home while they’re away. This could be at a house near where you already live or maybe you fly to a fun vacation destination and watch their house there.
It’s your job to make sure everything stays safe and clean and that nothing happens to the home (such as a frozen water pipe bursts).
You might need to pick up the mail, water plants, or feed pets. Sometimes, people will ask you to stay overnight to make sure the house does not stay empty.
If you’re looking to make some cash, you can start selling at a local farmers market.
Some things that you can sell include fresh produce, homemade goodies, jewelry, unique crafts, or even baking cakes are great items. You’ll want to make sure your product and booth stand out, as there will be a lot of booths around you.
Shoppers at farmers markets typically pay in cash, so you can get paid quickly!
Note: To sell at a farmers market, you might need to get a permit. You can start by checking with your county health department and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for rules. Every place has different laws, so it’s important to understand what applies to your situation.
Having a garage sale is a way to earn some extra cash, and you don’t need special skills to get started. Look around your home for things you no longer use or need, and these could be clothes, toys, books, or even bigger pieces like furniture.
Items sold at garage sales typically don’t sell for a ton of money, but it can be a great way to declutter while getting paid cash.
Weekends, especially Saturday mornings, are prime times for yard sales. Make sure to check your local weather forecast as a sunny day can lead to more foot traffic. Once you have your date, gather all the items you plan to sell.
Then, you’ll want to organize your items by category. For example, put all the kitchen items on one table and all the books on another. Price everything clearly – you might use colored stickers for pricing – to avoid confusion.
You can advertise your garage sale a few days before. You can do this by posting on social media (such as by sharing it in local Facebook groups), community bulletin boards, or local classified websites. Signs around your neighborhood can also help draw attention to your sale.
During the sale, you’ll want to have change ready for customers who pay with cash, and you’ll probably want to have a calculator handy if you’re not comfortable doing math in your head.
If you’re knowledgeable in a subject, tutoring can be a good job for you. This is a job where you help others, like kids or even adults, to understand things better.
As a tutor, you work one-on-one or with small groups to teach things like math, reading, specialty exams, or even foreign languages.
Harder subjects usually pay more than easier subjects, and you may be able to earn $25 or more per hour as a tutor. You may get paid after each tutoring session. Or, if you are a regular tutor for a person, it may be weekly or even monthly – it depends on the agreement that you have with the person you are tutoring.
As a painter, your job is to paint walls, buildings, and other surfaces.
Your job responsibilities may include preparing surfaces by cleaning and scraping, mixing paint to get the right color, and applying paint with brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
Back when we were selling our first house, we hired a solo painter to come in and paint all the walls. This is a job that you may be able to find as well.
If you’re good with tools and fixing things around the house, you might think about working as a handyman.
This job involves fixing leaky faucets, patching holes in walls, or putting together furniture. People tend to need help with these small jobs and look for someone who can do them without too much fuss.
You can find handyman jobs on websites like Craigslist or by asking friends and family if they know anyone who needs help.
With the same house I mentioned in the previous section, we also hired a handyman to renovate our bathroom as well as do around 10 other smaller things around our house too. We actually found him through a family friend, and he did so much work for us. It was great!
Being a dance instructor can be a fulfilling under the table job in some cases. You could work with students of all ages, teaching them how to dance or different dance styles.
Of course, you will want to make sure that you are a skilled dancer, as this is not a job that anyone can do.
So, do you have experience in styles like ballet, hip-hop, or salsa? Or something else?
You can start by giving classes in your community or looking for local studios in need of instructors.
Working as an auto mechanic could be a great under the table job for you, and there are always people who need work done on their cars.
You’ll typically charge less than if a person would be going to a car dealership or a car mechanic business. People would usually be looking to hire a cash-pay mechanic if they were wanting to save some money.
As a mechanic, you make sure cars are running smoothly. Your job might include changing oil, replacing brakes, and making sure the engine is in top shape. Of course, you need to know what you are doing, as people are trusting their expensive cars and their lives with the repairs and updates that you do.
Working like this usually means you have to find your own customers. Good places to start are local ads or online platforms like Craigslist (start by looking under the “gig” section).
Becoming a photographer can be a fun way for you to earn money if you are good with photography.
As a photographer, you can decide to work as an independent contractor, which means you are your own boss. This might involve getting paid in cash or a check for your services.
The different types of photography you can get into include:

Selling firewood can be a way to make money, especially if you live in an area where wood is used for heating or camping. Homeowners in colder places are always buying wood for their wood burning fireplaces and stoves, so this can be a good way to make some extra money by selling truckloads of wood.
First, you need to get firewood. If you have trees on your land, you might be able to cut your own wood.
After you have wood to sell, think about how you will sell it. You can sell wood online on websites where people buy and sell things in your community. You can also have a place at your house where people come to buy wood from you.
If you don’t have trees of your own, look for jobs where you can gather wood. Some people will even pay you to take away old trees or wood piles they don’t want.
Note: I recommend that you always keep in mind to follow the rules about selling wood where you live. Some places have rules about moving firewood to stop bugs and diseases from spreading to other trees.
Being a junk hauler might be a great fit for you if you don’t mind a bit of heavy lifting. People tend to hire junk haulers when they have big, heavy things that they want to get rid of after all.
As a junk hauler, you get to help people clear out unwanted items from their homes or businesses. These items could be anything from old furniture to broken appliances.
Your job will mostly involve picking up and removing junk. You’ll need to have a reliable vehicle, maybe a truck or a van, that can carry all the items. Sometimes, you’ll be recycling things or taking them to a landfill.
You can find junk hauling gigs on websites or by signing up with companies that look for contractors. These could be one-time jobs or regular work, perfect if you’re looking for a side hustle or even to grow your own junk removal business.
You’ll generally get paid after you complete a job and since it’s often under the table, payment is usually in cash. This means you get paid directly, with no checks or direct deposits.
We personally had to call a junk hauler when we had several pieces of rotten wood that we needed thrown away – it was several hundred pounds and extremely messy – not something that we wanted to mess with and we also wanted it gone right away. That same day, a junk hauler came by and took it for $125. We paid him cash and he took it to the dump for us. It was so convenient for us and good business for him.
If you have an empty room at your place, you might want to think about renting it out. This can be a good way to make some money on the side without a lot of work.
I have had several roommates over the years. We would rent out our spare room to long-term renters and people that we personally knew (such as friends and my sister).
To find a roommate and make money from renting your place, you can tell people about it in different ways. You can share it on your own Facebook page, post an ad on websites like Craigslist, make a rental listing on Airbnb, and try other methods.
When you’re looking into jobs that pay cash, also known as under the table jobs, you might have a lot of questions.
Under the table jobs are ways you can earn money that’s usually paid in cash and not recorded officially by an employer. This means no tax forms are involved and no taxes are taken out of your pay right away (but you should still pay them!).
Okay, this is a great question to ask. After all, this is a whole article on how to find under the table jobs. So, does that mean these types of jobs are legal?
Well, working under the table can be tricky when it comes to the law. Your employer might pay you in cash without giving you a contract. While it might seem straightforward, not reporting this cash income to the IRS is considered tax evasion. Earning cash itself isn’t illegal, but failing to report it on your taxes can lead to problems.
When you get paid under the table, you get to keep all the money you earn immediately. This kind of setup is nice for jobs like babysitting or doing yard work, and you don’t have to wait for a paycheck. But, remember, you still have to pay taxes! So, the main positive is that you are paid cash right away, instead of having to wait a couple of weeks.
Working under the table can be risky. If the IRS finds out you’re not reporting your income, both you and your employer could face penalties. Also, you won’t have official records of your income, which can make it tricky if you need to show how much you earn for things like loans or renting a place to live.
You can find jobs like babysitting, pet sitting, house cleaning, or gardening that pay under the table. These jobs usually pay cash because they are informal and may not involve paperwork. There are many other jobs that I didn’t even get into in the list above, such as becoming a personal assistant (doing things like grocery shopping and setting up appointments), personal trainer, graphic designer (making logos and more), and so on.
To find these jobs, you can start by asking friends or neighbors if they need help with anything. You can also look at community bulletin boards or online classifieds for local job opportunities.
If you’re looking for cash payment for a job, be honest and up front with your employer. Tell them you prefer cash payment, but realize that it’s usually smaller gigs that will pay cash and not more regular job opportunities. Keep in mind, though, that all income should still be reported for tax purposes.
On Craigslist, you can filter your job search by using keywords like “cash pay” or “under the table.”
I hope you enjoyed this article on how to find the best under the table jobs.
Getting paid cash right after you complete a job is nice – you don’t have to worry about waiting for a payment and you can pay your bills right away.
There are many ways to find under the table jobs, such as by asking people that you know or by looking at gig/job websites in your area.
Now, there are pros and cons to being paid under the table. Being paid under the table means you get cash quickly. However, there are risks like missing out on legal protections and benefits, and if not reported, it might lead to tax evasion consequences.
So, when working under the table, it’s important to keep track of how much money you make. After all, you’re responsible for your own records and taxes, even if you’re paid in cash.
So, you do still need to pay taxes on the income that you make.
When you work under the table, you’re often working part-time or full-time but without the usual job benefits. If you’re planning ahead, think about how these jobs might affect your career later on. Eventually, it may be a good idea to find a job with more regular benefits where you pay taxes straight out of your income.
What do you think are the best under the table jobs?

Having some extra income can be useful for unexpected needs or saving up money. Maybe you need money for rent, something broken on your car, or a medical bill. Maybe you have something that you’re saving for, and you just want to make some extra cash.
If you want to make $200 fast, there are many ways to do it: You could sell things you don’t need, create and sell handmade items, use your car or home to make money, and more.
There are lots of ways to make $200 fast!
Below are the best ways to make $200 quickly.
The quickest way to make $200 fast is to find stuff you already own and sell it.
When you’re in a pinch for cash, your home can be a treasure trove of items you can sell. Start by gathering gently used items or those you no longer need, such as electronics (phones, laptops), furniture (couches, coffee tables), clothing and accessories (especially branded ones), gift cards, and collectibles and antiques.
You can sell on Craigslist (ideal for bulkier items like furniture, tires, cars, etc., where local pickup is more practical), Facebook Marketplace (great for reaching a large local audience quickly), eBay (perfect for unique or more valuable items where shipping isn’t an issue), thrift stores (get cash on the spot at places like Plato’s Closet), having yard or garage sales (typically get less per item but can get rid of a lot of things at once), and more.
I have sold a ton of used items over the years such as clothing, jewelry, car tires, furniture, and more. It is easy and someone probably wants what you’re selling.

If you’ve got extra space in your home, be it an attic, basement, or spare room, renting it out for storage is an excellent way to earn extra cash.
A site to use to rent out your space is Neighbor. This website helps you earn money by renting out space you’re not using.
You can make up to $15,000 a year by renting out your garage, driveway, basement, or even a closet with Neighbor. You get to choose the prices and decide which reservations you want to say yes to and host.
Earning $200 a day just by answering surveys isn’t normally possible (unless you are doing focus groups or paid research studies), but you can reach your goal by combining survey earnings with other ideas.
When I was repaying my student loans, I answered lots of surveys each week. I did this before work, during lunch, or after work. It was convenient because I could do it whenever I had free time.
Survey companies pay you for answering surveys, watching videos, and testing products. Sometimes, you might even receive free products to evaluate. The best part is that joining survey companies is free!
Some of the paid online survey companies I recommend are:
Here are 11 Paid Online Survey Sites if you want to learn more.
A focus group is like a paid online survey, as I mentioned before, but you can make a lot more money from it.
I’ve done a focus group in the past that paid me around $400 for 75 minutes of my time. While that’s a bit more than usual, most focus groups pay anywhere from around $50 to over $100 per hour. Compensation differs significantly depending on the study’s length and topic, but higher-paying studies do exist.
Lots of consumer research companies pay people like us to share our opinions. The companies use our feedback to make their products and services better.
One focus group company that I recommend is User Interviews. User Interviews recruits participants to answer surveys and share their feedback.
10
User Interviews pays very well for market research studies and these are some of the highest paying online surveys, with each paying $50 to $100 or more. The average pays over $60.
If you’re looking to make $200 quickly, your smartphone can be a surprisingly interesting way. By playing games on your phone, you can earn real money.
Game apps pay real money rewards because they make money from ads and in-app purchases. They share a part of their earnings with you to motivate you to keep playing their games.
The best game apps that pay real money include KashKick, Swagbucks, and InboxDollars.
When picking gaming apps to make money, check reviews and learn about how you get paid. Be careful with apps that ask you to pay to play or promise rewards that sound too good to be true. Also, keep track of the time you spend playing games to make sure it stays worth it.
If you have an RV that’s sitting idle, you may want to turn it into income by renting it out. Many people have RVs they don’t use very often. Instead of letting it just sit there, you might make extra money by renting it out. Yes, you could potentially make $200 a day by renting your RV to others.
Popular sites such as RVshare work similarly to Airbnb, connecting you with potential renters. They handle the bookings and insurance, making the process easier.
Another idea is to park your RV somewhere and list it on Airbnb. I’ve seen many RVs, campers, trailers, and more on Airbnb available for rent. Just make sure that you can rent it out in the location you want to leave it, as not all campgrounds or neighborhoods may allow it.
10
RVshare is one of the best money-making sites because it helps travelers save money by cutting out the middleman and offering RV rentals directly from RV owners. If you have an RV that is sitting around, then you may be able to make $100 to $300+ a day.
If you like finding mistakes in written content and want to know how to make $200 a day, proofreading could be a good fit for you. It can be a part-time job or a full-time work-from-home career too.
It’s a job where you can make $200 in a day, and many proofreaders earn around $40,000 a year or even more.
Proofreaders check for mistakes in articles, ads, books, student papers, emails, transcripts, and more.

A virtual assistant (VA) is someone who helps a person, company, or business owner with administrative and business tasks, making sure everything runs smoothly. They’re just like in-person assistants, but they work from home and online.
I used to work as a virtual assistant for small business owners. I didn’t have prior experience, but I learned the skills while on the job. It not only helped me earn a good income but also allowed me to work from home. I also have virtual assistants who work for me, so I know how helpful they are! This is a very in-demand job field to get into.
Virtual assistant tasks may include:
And more.
Typically, when you begin working as a virtual assistant, you might earn around $15 to $20 per hour. However, in some cases, you could start with twice or even three times that amount. It depends on the type of work you do and the services you provide.
This can be a full-time job or a side hustle too!

A blog is a website with articles, like what you’re reading now. You can create a blog on topics such as personal finance, recipes, travel, pet care, family life, and more. There are many different types of blogs out there.
You can make money from a blog by partnering with companies for sponsorships, showing ads, doing affiliate marketing (for example, selling a product listed on Amazon), and selling products like ebooks, candles, T-shirts, and more directly on your blog.
This is what I do to make money, and I earn well over $200 a day online. It did take me around 6 months to make my first $100 with my blog, so it does take time to get started. It took me about a year to reach around $5,000 a month and around 2 years to get to $10,000 a month.

Printables are digital files that customers can download and print themselves. These can include things like planners, art prints, stickers, learning tools, worksheets, invites, and organizational tools.

You can make $200 quickly using your local Craigslist, which has short-term jobs and side hustles listed under “gigs.”
Some gigs I’ve seen include painting a room, running errands, passing out flyers, handyman work, loading a moving truck, shoveling snow, pet sitting, transporting a boat, and more.
You can also find quick gig side hustles through a company called Taskrabbit as well!
Note: When using Craigslist for odd jobs, be cautious of scams. If something appears too good to be true, it probably is. For instance, no one is likely to pay you $2,000 for a mystery shop or a 30-minute survey. It’s important to stay alert and choose opportunities that are realistic and trustworthy. Simply skip it if you have doubts!
If you’re looking to make $200 quickly, getting a roommate can be one way to do so, and if you have an extra room at home, you can make extra money by renting it out on platforms like Airbnb or finding a long-term roommate.
Renting out a room long-term could earn you around $200 or much more, depending on the room and its location. It’s a good way to utilize your extra space for additional income.
I have personally had several roommates in the past, and it was a good source of income. Plus, we had the extra space anyway that was unused. We charged around $400 a month per room, but nowadays you can definitely get a lot more (especially depending on where you live).
Here’s a quick step-by-step guide to finding a roommate and getting paid:
To learn more about renting out your spare room, I recommend reading A Complete Guide To Renting A Room For Extra Money.
If you want to take it a step further, you could even get into real estate investing. You can learn more about this option at How This 34 Year Old Owns 7 Rental Homes.
If you’re looking to make $200 fast, you can rent out your gently used baby items to traveling families. By listing a crib, stroller, or car seat on rental platforms, you can help ease the travel burdens for parents while earning extra cash.
Here are some ideas of what you can rent out:
A website called BabyQuip lets you rent out baby equipment. On average, people using BabyQuip can make about $1,000 a month, and some earn over $10,000 monthly.
If you have a credit card, then there’s a good chance that you are earning points by simply spending like you normally do.
Or, you could even sign up for a new card that has a good signup bonus to earn more points.
With rewards credit cards, you can turn your points into cash back. Here’s how it works: whenever you use your credit card to buy something, you earn points as a reward for spending money.
I have rewards credit cards and I earn points every single time I shop or pay a bill, and I don’t have to do anything special. Just pay my bills and expenses like I normally do! In fact, I just signed up for a new rewards credit card with a great signup bonus today with a signup bonus value of over $800.
Two credit cards that I personally like include:
Important note: Making the most of credit card rewards is smart only if you use your credit card responsibly. It’s not a good idea to accumulate debt just to get rewards because debt with interest is neither free nor beneficial. To really earn money from credit card rewards, you will want to make sure to pay your credit card balance in full every month.
Below are answers to common questions about how to make $200 quick.
If you want to learn how to make $200 fast in a day, then I highly recommend finding items from around your home to sell, like clothing, jewelry, and video games. This is the easiest way to get started as you probably already own things you can sell.
If you want to make an extra $200 a week, I recommend freelance work, which might include writing, graphic design, or proofreading. Also, renting out things you already have, like a spare room, can be a great way to make passive income.
Look around your home for electronics, clothing, or collectibles that are in good condition but you no longer need or want. You may be able to find lots of things to sell (and have a yard sale) and/or find one or two big things to sell.
I’ve done a lot of things on the list above to make $200 fast online from home, such as freelance writing, blogging, selling items online, taking part in a focus group, and more.
I hope you enjoyed this article on how to make $200 fast in a day.
As you learned above, you can earn $200 fast by doing a lot of different things, such as by freelancing, starting a business, renting out something you already own, playing games, and more.
The key is to choose what fits your life, how much time you have, and your money needs right now.
What do you think is the best way to make $200 fast?

Below are answers to common questions about finding a job while pregnant.
Legally, most employers cannot discriminate against you based on pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, as established in the Pregnancy Discrimination Act. However, you might wonder if you should disclose your pregnancy during an interview. Ultimately, it’s your decision. If you believe the job is a good fit for you and your pregnancy, you can choose to discuss it after receiving a job offer to determine the necessary accommodations.
It’s usually within your rights to only disclose your pregnancy when you feel comfortable doing so. You should prioritize your health and the needs of you and your child, and focus on finding a job that supports your situation.
When looking for a job while pregnant, you may want to look for jobs that are not physically demanding and have a flexible work schedule. Some job options for pregnant women include becoming a virtual assistant, freelance writer, or proofreader.
For women with high-risk pregnancies, it’s important to choose jobs that don’t have exposure to harmful chemicals or require heavy lifting. Remote jobs such as online tutoring, social media management, or bookkeeping are ideal in this situation, but you should always ask your doctor to see which jobs are best for your specific situation.
I think working from home is the best possible job idea for pregnant women, and it’s exactly what I did while pregnant! Pregnant women can earn money from home by taking on remote work or freelancing positions. Some options include proofreading, virtual assistance, freelance writing, bookkeeping, and online tutoring.
Yes, there are jobs for women in their third trimester of pregnancy. Remote jobs or freelancing in fields like writing, proofreading, or bookkeeping can be suitable during the third trimester, along with many others!
The Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978 says that companies with 15 or more employees can’t make job decisions based on pregnancy or childbirth. As long as you can do the job, a company cannot refuse to hire you just because you’re pregnant. So, if you are 7 months pregnant and need a job, you can get one.
Jobs that you may want to avoid while pregnant include those that involve exposure to toxic chemicals or heavy lifting. Also, some roles with high stress or long hours may not be suitable for some pregnant women. I highly recommend talking with your doctor about which jobs are safe for you during your pregnancy if you have questions.
The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) allows qualified employees to take up to 12 weeks off from work without pay for certain family and health reasons, like being pregnant.
Yes, it is okay not to work while you are pregnant. If you can afford it, then saving money ahead of time can be very helpful.
I hope you enjoyed this article on the best jobs for pregnant women.
Whether you are looking for permanent or temporary jobs while pregnant, you have many options.
If you are wondering what is the best job for a pregnant woman, then the list above is a great place to start. Everyone is different, and everyone’s pregnancies are different – so, you will want to think about what you are comfortable doing as well as what you can physically and mentally handle.
For me, I was so nauseous and sick for the first several months that it was too hard for me to do pretty much anything. Working online was all that I could handle, and even then, that was difficult.
So, do not feel bad if you are not able to handle much. Pregnancy is hard! You are growing a baby and that takes a lot out of a person.
I hope you are able to find the best job for you.

Looking for the best selling apps so that you can sell stuff?
Whether you have old things around your home that you want to sell or if you want to start a reselling business, there are many apps that make it easy to sell stuff right from your phone.
There are apps and sites where you can sell all sorts of things, too, such as clothing, furniture, electronics, collectibles, and more.
I have personally sold many items over the years on many different sites to make extra income. I even had a small reselling business at one point. So, I know how helpful these sites and apps really are!
Selling apps are sites on your phone or computer that let you sell things like clothes, toys, or even your car. You take a picture, write a little bit about it, and then other people can see it and buy it from you. Some apps help you sell to people all over the world, while others let you sell locally to people who live nearby.
The apps below can be found on iOS, Android, desktop computers, or laptops.
10
This free workshop will teach you how to get into the flipping business. It will teach you how to resell furniture, electronics, appliances, and anything else you can find.
Below are the best selling apps.
If you want to sell your electronics items like phones or games, Decluttr is one of the best selling apps.
Selling with Decluttr is simple. You can scan barcodes of items like games, DVDs, and books with your phone, and after you scan your items, Decluttr will give you a price for them right away.
When you decide to sell, you send your items to Decluttr for free. They even pay for the shipping and give you a free shipping label. Once they get your stuff, they’ll inspect them and if everything looks good, you then get paid.
People like using Decluttr because it’s easy and the website is easy to understand. They have a high rating from customers on Trustpilot, which means most people have a good experience.
I have personally sold a phone on Decluttr, and I have a family member who has both bought a refurbished phone on this site as well as sold an old one. It’s very easy to use and I highly recommend Decluttr.
Here’s what you can sell on Decluttr:
When selling, you always get to see the price Decluttr offers before you agree to sell. If you change your mind or if Decluttr says your items aren’t quite right, they’ll send them back to you without charging you anything.
eBay is an online marketplace where you can sell all different kinds of items to buyers from around the world.
Plus, you can use either your computer or your phone to sell your items.
I have sold many, many items on eBay in the past, and I think it’s a great selling site if you are looking to reach a lot of people at once. I have mainly sold clothes on eBay, but I have family members who have sold lots of different things, even cars!
If you prefer selling directly from your phone, eBay’s app is handy. You can list items by going to the Selling page and choosing “List an item.”
EBay charges two types of fees – when you create a listing as well as a fee when your item sells. This depends on the item’s price, any listing upgrades you add, and more.
Usually, eBay gives you a number of free listings every month, which means you won’t pay to list your items. This amount can be up to 250 for regular sellers or more for eBay store owners. After the free listings, there will be a fee, so keep an eye on how many listings you’re creating. You do still have to pay a fee after the item sells, which is calculated as a percentage of the total amount of the sale, plus $0.30 per order.
When you’re looking to clear out your space, Facebook Marketplace is the best app to sell stuff locally. This is like a large online yard sale but from the comfort of your home and phone. You can sell almost anything here, from the couch you’re replacing to the bicycle you no longer ride.
People sell things on Facebook Marketplace all the time because it is so easy! All you need is the Facebook account that you most likely already have in order to post an ad.
To sell an item, take clear photos and write a simple description. People sell toys, furniture, electronics, household goods, and more on Facebook Marketplace.
Plus, you have the option to buy and sell locally, which means no shipping hassles, or you can reach out more broadly if you’re willing to ship items. I think that most people are selling locally, though.
If you have items you no longer need, like toys your kids outgrew or a bike you’ve replaced, then OfferUp is a mobile marketplace where you can sell these items quickly. It’s like having a yard sale but on your phone. You just take a photo of your item, set a price, and post it. People in your community can see what you’re selling and message you if they’re interested.
Selling collectibles can be successful on OfferUp too. If you have old video game cards or stamps, you might find collectors on the app who are looking to buy them. Just remember to price your items fairly and describe them well so buyers know what they’re getting.
Unlike some other selling platforms, OfferUp is focused on local sales. This means you often meet in person to exchange the item and payment. This local approach can make transactions fast, as you don’t have to wait for shipping.
Tip: You should always be safe when meeting. Always meet in public spaces and verify the item before paying.
Poshmark is one of the best reselling apps for clothes and accessories.
I love Poshmark because I can find all sorts of clothing, from adult to baby, all on this site. I can search for the exact clothing brand I am looking for and often find great deals. It’s also an easy way to list items that you want to sell, and people sell all the time on Poshmark.
You can get started selling on Poshmark by creating an account, which includes adding a profile picture and writing a biography about yourself to help potential buyers get to know you better.
Then, you will list your items for sale, which includes taking photos of what you’re selling, writing a clear title and description for each item (such as the size and brand), and setting a price.
When you sell something, Poshmark helps with shipping by giving you a shipping label, and you mail the item to the buyer.
When the buyer gets your item and everything’s good, you get paid. Poshmark takes care of payments to keep it safe for everyone.
Nextdoor is your go-to app for connecting with your neighbors and tapping into your local community. Think of it like a virtual gathering place where you and others in your area can meet up online.
Nextdoor is convenient because there’s no shipping – you just meet up and make the exchange.
It uses no fees to list your items, which means more money in your pocket. Instead, Nextdoor makes money in other ways (such as advertisements) so that you don’t have to pay listing or transaction fees.
So, when you have a couch to sell or want to buy a lawn mower nearby, Nextdoor might just be the app for you.
Craigslist is a very popular site for buying and selling items locally.
I have bought and sold many things on Craigslist in the past, such as car tires, a white water raft, clothes, and more. As you can see, that is a wide variety of items – so I’m sure you can find something that you can sell on Craigslist as well.
Plus, there are no fees to list your items on Craigslist. And, there are no selling fees either.
It is completely free to use.
To sell your items, you need to create a post, add a description and photos, and set a price.
There are a lot of scams on Craigslist, unfortunately, so you will want to stay safe. Be careful with anyone who wants to pay via check, and always stay safe. I recommend meeting buyers in public places and think about bringing a friend along. I like to pick public places like Walmart, and I know many people who like to use police department parking lots.
ThredUP is an online consignment and thrift store where you can sell your clothes. If you have gently used women’s or kids’ clothes, thredUP lets you clean out your closet and earn money.
You can get started by simply filling a bag with the clothing items you want to sell. Then, you’ll mail your clothes with a prepaid shipping label from thredUP, and you can drop off your package at FedEx or USPS.
When your clothes sell, you have two choices. You can either cash out or get credit to shop on thredUP.
Remember, you won’t earn money for every item you send because not everything may meet thredUP’s criteria (such as if something is stained or damaged). But it’s a straightforward way to declutter and earn some cash or credit.
Etsy is a great place to sell items that are vintage, fun, crafty, or collectible.
You can sell items like paintings, clothing, furniture, jewelry, printables, stickers, mugs, home decor, handmade items, vintage items, and so much more.
I shop on Etsy all the time, and I love how I can find interesting items that I can’t find anywhere else, such as custom artwork or vintage furniture pieces that someone found. I shop on Etsy all the time (several times a year) for both myself as well as to find gifts to give to others.
Now, Etsy is a little different from the other selling apps on this list. This is because you would not only be creating a listing but also a whole storefront.
So, if you want to start a part-time or even a full-time selling business, then this may be more for you. But, if you’re looking to sell just one or two items, then starting a whole Etsy shop may be a little too much work (depending on what you’re selling).
When you have jewelry like diamond rings, luxury watches, or gold necklaces that you don’t want anymore, you can sell them on Worthy.com.
At Worthy, they will check your jewelry to see how much it’s worth. Then, they will sell it for you in an auction. This means that lots of people can offer money for your piece until someone gives the best price.
Steps to sell your jewelry with Worthy:
The good thing is that Worthy takes care of getting your jewelry to the buyers safely. They pay for the shipping insurance, so you don’t have to worry if something happens on the way.
You might want to sell things you don’t need anymore like a pair of shoes you outgrew or a video game you’ve finished playing. Mercari is an app that lets you sell these items right from your phone.
You can list almost anything on Mercari as long as it can be shipped. This includes phones, gaming consoles like Xbox and PS5, clothes, shoes, and even collectibles like Squishmallows.
It’s free to list your stuff on Mercari. Instead, they earn money from fees after your item sells.
First, you take a few pictures of what you’re selling. Then, you write down details about it – like what it is, what condition it’s in, and how much you want for it.
When someone buys your item, Mercari helps with shipping. They get you a prepaid label, and you just have to package your item and send it off.
We’ve all heard of Amazon and I’m sure most of us use this site.
I buy things on Amazon all the time, and I have a few friends who sell on Amazon as well.
Amazon FBA, which stands for Fulfillment by Amazon, means that sellers keep their items in Amazon’s storage places. Amazon takes care of sending products to customers, dealing with returns, and managing customer service for the seller. With FBA, you can sell different things without the need to store them yourself or manage shipping details.
Your business would involve finding items to sell. Even if you haven’t sold anything on Amazon before, you can make money by selling everyday things like household items, toys, books, electronics, and more.
If you want to learn more about starting an Amazon business, I recommend signing up for this free training that will teach you how to sell products on Amazon and make $100 to $500 per day.

Chairish is a site where you can sell furniture.
With Chairish, your items are put in front of people who appreciate one-of-a-kind pieces. You can find buyers for antique and vintage furniture, art, and decor.
On Chairish, the process is smooth. You write about your item, set a price, and Chairish handles the rest from marketing to shipping.
Kidizen is a used kids’ clothing site where you can sell your kids’ outgrown clothes, shoes, toys, and more. They even accept clothing for moms and maternity wear.
There are two ways to sell on Kidizen. One is to create listings yourself and sell your used items on Kidizen directly. The other option is to have Kidizen sell the items for you, where they create the listings and do all the work.
Cash4YourBooks is a site where you can sell your books. They buy book collections of 500 books or more (such as from estates, personal collections, libraries, and more).
If Cash4YourBooks decides to buy your collection, they’ll pick it up; you don’t need to worry about shipping or anything like that.
Gameflip is a site where you can sell gaming stuff, like video games and things you use inside games.
You can sell both real and online games on Gameflip. You get to decide how much they cost, and you can chat with potential buyers. This makes it simple for you to sell your video games and other things.
When you want to sell items online, finding the right app can save you time and make you money. Here are answers to the most common questions about selling apps.
If you’re looking to sell your unwanted items fast, apps like eBay and OfferUp are great because they have a lot of people who are looking for things to buy.
Apps like Decluttr can pay you instantly once your items are accepted. This means you get paid quickly, usually after they check your stuff and make sure the quality is what you said it was.
Nextdoor and OfferUp are easy for local sales, and they allow you to connect with nearby buyers in local neighborhoods, which can make the process faster and skip any shipping. If you have a lot of things that you want to sell but want to keep it local, then you could even post an ad on the Craigslist app announcing a yard or garage sale.
If you don’t want to spend any money to sell your items, then Facebook and Craigslist are two great places to start. I have gotten rid of items on both, and they are very easy to use.
I hope you enjoyed this article on the best selling apps.
When you use selling apps, you save time because you don’t have to have a yard sale. It’s also safe because you don’t have to meet strangers in person if you don’t want to. These apps can be free or low-cost, which means more money in your pocket.
Some apps are great for local sales, allowing you to connect with buyers in your neighborhood. These can be super helpful for large items that are difficult to ship. Other apps specialize in specific categories, like fashion or handmade goods.
Whatever you are looking to sell, I hope you see lots of success! I have sold many items over the years, both online and offline, and I think it’s a great way to make money.

These can be ways to make extra income or even possibly be turned into a full-time job.
Back when I had student loans, I found many different ways to make money in an hour. There may be other reasons for why you need to make money in an hour or less. If this is you, continue reading below to learn how to make money in 60 minutes or less!

Whether you only have one hour to spare each day or if you need to make money in literally one hour from now, you do have some options.
Got stuff at home you don’t use anymore? You can turn those things into cash, often in just an hour!
Here are some easy ways you can do this.
You can sell items on platforms like Decluttr, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and eBay. I have sold on all these (plus a lot more!), and they are all easy to use.
You could even have a garage sale if you have lots of items to get rid of.

This free workshop will teach you how to get into the flipping business. It will teach you how to resell furniture, electronics, appliances, and anything else you can find.
Making money in one hour can be done if you mow lawns or shovel snow. These jobs can be done quickly, and you get paid right after you finish the work.
You’ll need a lawn mower, shovel, and/or snow blower to get started, and you can typically charge around $50+ for a yard.
Doing a good job increases the chances of people asking you to return or recommending you to their friends. Take your time to do things well. Before starting any work, make sure to ask how much they’re willing to spend because this way, both of you agree on the price!
If you bought something you don’t need or haven’t used yet, returning it is a quick way to get cash.
Surprisingly, many people have items lying around that they’ve purchased but may have not used yet. If you really need the cash, then this can be a great option to start with.
First, find your receipt. This shows you paid for the item and when you bought it. No receipt? Look in your email or bags. Sometimes, stores send receipts to your email or put them in your shopping bag.
Next, check the store’s return policy. Some stores let you return items within a certain time, like 30 or 60 days. Be quick – if you wait too long, you can’t return it!
Before you go to the store, make sure the item is in good shape. It should look like when you bought it. Return it in its original packaging if you can. Here’s a list of what you’ll need to return a purchase:
At the store, go to the customer service desk and tell them you want to return the item. Be polite – it makes things smoother. If you don’t want to go to the store, some stores might let you mail the item back.
Remember, some items can’t be returned. Things like opened DVDs or personal use items like earbuds usually can’t go back to the store. It’s always a good idea to know the return rules before you buy things.
If you want to make money fast and take advantage of the gig economy, you can deliver food, such as groceries or restaurant meals. Companies like Instacart, Uber Eats, and DoorDash let you sign up to be a delivery driver.
To get started, you’ll need a car, bike, or scooter and sign up for the company that you want to work with. You’ll then get orders on your phone through an app, go to the restaurant or grocery store, pick up the food, and drive it to the customer’s place (this may be their home or where they work).
You’ll get paid for each person or food delivery, plus get tips as well.
You get to choose the hours that you want to work, and you can work for just one hour or as much as you want.
Related to this, you can even deliver packages for retailers with Amazon Flex!

Instacart is a popular website for people looking to earn extra money shopping for and delivering groceries. Instacart gives you the option to turn your free time into a chance to make some extra money.
If you want to make money quickly, you might start driving for companies like Uber or Lyft.
You get paid for giving people rides in your car, and the more you drive, the more money you can make.
Drivers can earn about $20 per hour on average. In some cities, drivers can make more than $30 an hour.
You can increase your earnings further by concentrating on busy areas (such as before and after a concert) and driving during the busiest times (such as on a Saturday night). This way, you can make more money for each hour of your time!

If you want to make money quickly, you can try taking paid online surveys. Market research companies need your opinions to make their products better, so they pay you for your time.
Some paid survey sites where you can take surveys include:
Here’s what to do:
Earning money from answering surveys is not always fast, and it won’t make you rich. But if you have an hour, it’s a simple way to earn a little extra cash.
For me, I have answered a lot of surveys over the years. I like how I can answer surveys in little breaks I have during the day, such as before and after work, during a lunch break, while being a passenger in a car, and so on. They are easy to answer, and usually only take a few minutes.

Branded Surveys is one of the most popular survey sites that rewards you in cash and gift cards for sharing your opinion. You can get paid anywhere from $0.50 to $5.00 per survey.
Craigslist has a jobs section on their site where you can find tasks that people need done right away. These are typically one-time gigs, but there are also part-time and full-time jobs listed here as well.
When you do a job on Craigslist, you usually get paid right after you complete the short task. That means you’ll receive your money on the same day.
To find Craigslist gigs in your town, just go to Craigslist and look for the “gigs” section.
Here are some gigs and tasks I found through a quick search on Craigslist:
Are you looking for a quick way to make money? Joining focus groups can be a fun way for you to earn extra cash and many times they take an hour or less.
A focus group is a small group of people who talk about products or services. Companies use your opinions to make their stuff better by learning more about their customers, such as you.
User Interviews is a popular site to find focus groups to take part in.
I have done a user interview in the past and got paid $400 for just one hour of work. It was simple, and everything happened online through a video call to see my opinion on a new feature for a well-known company (one of the largest companies in the world, in fact – so even large companies use these to help them improve!).
You can make $50 to $100 per hour, or even more, by sharing your thoughts and feedback.

If you want to earn money quickly, like in just an hour, you can try becoming a mystery shopper. Mystery shoppers are people just like you and me who get paid to shop and give their opinion.
I’ve done a lot of mystery shopping over the years to make some extra money and to get free stuff. It’s easy work that can be done either on the phone (such as by rating their customer service when they answer the phone) or in person at a store. Most mystery shops take less than an hour too! I’ve done many that even take less than 5 minutes to complete.
The way mystery shopping works is that you’ll typically buy products or try services, pay attention to the details like how clean the store is or if the staff is nice, and then answer questions that the mystery shopping company gives you after you are done.

Some centers might pay more money for your first time donating, like a bonus to persuade you to start. The amount you get can change depending on where you live, so make sure to confirm before you commit.
If you want to learn how to make money in one hour online, then online tutoring jobs can be a good option to look into.
If you’re good at a subject, you can make money fast by tutoring students online. Lots of students need help with their schoolwork and are willing to pay for your knowledge.
As a tutor, you might spend 30 minutes to an hour giving a lesson, answering questions online, or working one-on-one with a student through a video lesson.
Tutors can earn different amounts depending on what they teach (the subject) and the duration of the session (whether it’s a quick question or a full-hour session). For example, tutoring in advanced subjects like calculus usually pays more than simpler ones like first-grade math. Some tutors may earn around $20 per hour, while others can make well over $100 per hour.
Selling scrap metal or precious metals is a quick way to make some money in just one hour.
To get started, you’ll want to find metal items from around your home. This can be old appliances, wires, and even soda cans.
Then, you’ll want to find a scrap yard nearby to take your metals. You’ll want to make sure it’s clean and to keep your metals separated and organized.
Once you get to the scrap yard, you’ll weigh your metal on their scales, and then they’ll give you a price. If it’s your first time, ask how the process works just so that you are not confused by anything.
Prices change often, so what you earn depends on the type and weight of the metal you sell.
Have you ever thought you could make money by playing games on your phone or computer? Yes, you can! Some apps and websites let you earn rewards, like gift cards or even cash, just for playing online games in your spare time.
Apps that pay you for playing games usually make their money through ads, things you buy in the app, and paid gaming competitions. They share a bit of what they earn with you to get you to keep playing their games and spend more time on their platform.
Here’s a quick list of the top game platforms that pay real cash:

If you like being around pets and want to make money fast, dog walking is a great choice. Many dog walking gigs are one hour or less per visit, so this can be a great way to make money in an hour.
To start, you just need a love for dogs and a good pair of walking shoes.
You can set your rates, usually between $10 to $20 for a 30-minute walk.
One hour of walking dogs could mean walking one dog for 60 minutes or doing two 30-minute walks for two different dogs.
Rover is a website that connects pet owners with pet sitters and dog walkers. Starting on Rover is simple. You create a profile where you talk about your experience with pets and the services you can offer, such as dog walking, pet sitting, and house sitting. After setting up your profile, you’ll get requests from customers and discuss pricing. Rover handles payment processing, and you’ll receive the payments directly into your account.
I know many people who are dog walkers, and they all really love the job. I have also used dog sitters in the past – it is a wonderful and super helpful service.
As a freelancer, you get to choose your own hours. So, you may decide to work an hour here and an hour there.
Back when I had a full-time job, this is what I loved about being able to freelance online – I could work in my spare time, even if it was just small pockets of time that I had. For example, I would complete short tasks an hour before I went to work, during my hour lunch break, and later once I got home from work.
And, there are many different types of freelance gigs that you can do, such as managing social media as a virtual assistant, data entry, proofreading, graphic design, email management, and more.

A high-yield bank account is a low-risk method to make extra money, and it typically takes less than an hour of your time to set up.
These savings accounts earn more interest than a regular one, so your money grows faster.
You will want to make sure that you pick a trustworthy bank and check the interest rates regularly because they can go up or down. Some people move their money into high-yield savings accounts often so that they can get the highest interest rates.
I personally use Marcus by Goldman Sachs as they have a very high rate. You can get up to 5.50% (at the time of this writing through a referral link bonus). According to this high-yield savings account calculator, if you have $10,000 saved, you could earn $550 with a high-yield savings account in a year. Whereas with normal banks, your earnings would only be $46.
This is an easy way to make passive income!
These answers help you find quick ways to make money when you need it fast.
If you need cash right away, you can sell things you don’t use anymore, like toys or clothes. Another fast way is to do small jobs for neighbors, like walking their dogs or helping in the garden.
To make $100 a day, you could do jobs like cleaning houses, pet sitting, or babysitting. You could also combine a few things like doing surveys online, delivering food, or driving people places.
Without a job, you can still make money by selling stuff online, like clothes, games, or even sports equipment. You can also collect cans or bottles to recycle, or ask friends or family if they need help with anything for some quick cash.
As a kid, you can make money fast by setting up a lemonade stand, doing a car wash, or even making and selling crafts to friends and family (such as bracelets or custom T-shirts!). Of course, please check with your parents and stay safe.
To make money in an hour at home, you can do things like sell items that you already own, such as your old clothing or a cell phone. You could also walk dogs, freelance online, or even tutor.
