Brady and Bündchen snagged the 2-acre lot almost three years ago for a cool $17 million. And as hefty as that might sound, it’s worth remembering that the lot sits in one of the richest neighborhoods in the United States.
Properties here typically sell for eight-figure amounts and are rarely up for grabs.
In 2023, a waterfront mansion just down the street from Tom Brady’s house listed for a whopping $85 million. We haven’t seen any other Indian Creek houses pop up on the market since.

The construction loan Brady took out from JPMorgan Chase to build his Indian Creek Island house sits at a whopping $35 million, The Real Deal reports.

An estimated 330,000 people will be headed to Las Vegas for the upcoming Super Bowl, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. Whether you are one of those football fans or you’re a traveler planning to live it up on the Strip sometime this year, there’s plenty to do in Sin City on a budget.
One affordable option is to head outdoors. Valley of Fire and Lake Mead are popular nearby parks, but there’s even more just beyond the neon lights of Las Vegas.
1. Hike to Petroglyphs in Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area
Not far south of the Las Vegas Strip is a quiet, 48,438-acre protected area of desert called Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, which is perfect for hiking and mountain biking.
The most popular attraction is Petroglyph Canyon Trail. On this 4.1-mile lollipop-loop trail, there are over 1,700 individual petroglyphs on the rocks along the route that date back as far as the Archaic era.
While much of the trail is flat, there’s little to no shade and a few areas where climbing over dried-up waterfalls is required. Prefer to wander? There are plenty of wilderness areas within the park where you can hike off-trail, too.
Mountain biking trails also abound. Entrance to the park is free, and even on weekends, you’re likely to have much of the trail to yourself if you arrive before 9 a.m.
2. Ski at Lee Canyon
Did you know you can ski near Las Vegas in the winter? Lee Canyon is the only ski resort in all of southern Nevada, and it’s easily accessible from the city — just an hour driving from Las Vegas.
The resort isn’t huge — there are 195 acres of terrain and 27 trails accessed via three chairlifts, including a skills park — but the mountain is popular with both locals and visitors. And while at many resorts skiing can be prohibitively expensive, lift tickets at Lee Canyon can be as little as $19 on weekdays and often include a $10 credit for food and drinks. Kids 12 and younger ski free, too. If you didn’t bring your own skis or snowboard on the airplane or in the car, gear is available to rent.
If you’re more interested in warm-weather activities, there’s also a mountain bike park on the property that’s open in the summer.
3. Hike and bike in Spring Mountains National Recreation Area
For free outdoor fun in the mountains near Lee Canyon, head to Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, which is located in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and managed by the U.S. Forest Service.
In the summer, you can escape the heat via hiking, backpacking and mountain biking in the sprawling outdoor playground that’s populated with peaks and pine forests. In the winter, there’s sledding in addition to hiking (though you might want to bring microspikes to safely navigate icy trails), snowshoeing and even fat tire biking.
For maps and hike recommendations, head to the visitor gateway. If you want to spend a few days in the mountains, you can book a campsite or a stay at the retreat on Charleston Peak, which is just up the road from the visitor center.
4. Take a scenic drive through Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
Fans of geology, hiking or landscape photography will love Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, located just 17 miles from the Vegas Strip. The park offers many adventure opportunities, including mountain biking, road cycling around the park and rock climbing, but because it is so close to the city, the park is often busy. About 4 million people visit every year, according to the Bureau of Land Management.
From the beginning of October through the end of May between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., you’ll need a reservation to drive the 13-mile scenic loop or hike many of the popular park trails along the way. The timed entry reservation costs $2 on top of the $20 entry fee, which is waived if you have a national parks pass or if you visit on a fee-free day.
5. Explore historic tunnels near Lake Mead
Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam are popular attractions near Las Vegas, but one alternative to get a taste of the history of both is the historic Railroad Tunnel Trail in Boulder City, just southeast of Vegas. You can walk or bike along the easy, level gravel path that offers views of Lake Mead below.
You’ll also pass through tunnels about 25 feet wide and 30 feet high that were built for a railroad to transport building materials for the construction of Hoover Dam.
When you’re done, grab a meal in the small but lively Boulder City. If the goal was to get outside and out of the city of Las Vegas, consider it a touchdown after this hike.

“I ended up buying this house. There’s history in it. My history lies in this house.”
But despite the history, the U Remind Me hitmaker (who’s not one to hoard properties, it would seem), sold the Alpharetta house formerly owned by L.A. Reid for $1.5 million back in 2018.

Usher also owned a Spanish-style estate in West Hollywood set on the same block as the landmark Chateau Marmont Hotel.
The property, which he first listed for sale in early 2018 for $4.2 million (it ended up selling for only $3.3 million), was originally built in 1926 and has been “artfully restored” to accommodate the artist and his growing family, retaining original details like stenciled beams and handcrafted ironwork.
But the artist sold that 5-bedroom house too in 2018, one of three homes he offloaded in the span of a single year.

Well now that the Super Bowl is over, it’s time to look forward toward spring and the rest of 2013.
The holidays have passed and now many individuals are determining what their financial goals are for the year.
Is this the year to finally sell a home, buy a home, or just continue to sit tight?
While all those questions may have different answers, depending upon your current position, it’s clear that it’s a seller’s market right now.
It’s not a traditional seller’s market, largely because most homeowners don’t have much home equity, but the current environment does favor sellers because inventory is just so tight.
There’s also voracious demand at the moment, thanks to the perception that the worst is now behind us, and that if you buy in now, you’ll get a cheap home with an even cheaper mortgage.
Unfortunately, this herd mentality often precedes a bubble, that is, an unwarranted surge in price before a sudden and dramatic correction.
Housing Bubble Part Deux?
So, are we in for more trouble, now that seemingly every pundit, analyst, government official, interested party, and American is in on the supposed recovery?
The few who believe we are in for another bubble basically think the Fed created artificial demand for housing by pushing mortgage rates to new record lows, via quantitative easing like QE3.
It’s hard to argue with that fact – mortgage rates did indeed fall to unprecedented levels, and with that seemed to come a newfound demand for housing.
But even though demand is up, home sales are still lower than they have been historically.
All the recent “killer numbers” are only good, or improved, relative to the preceding dismal years.
And one could argue that home prices are on the mend because they’re cheap, not because rates are low. After all, plenty of recent sales have gone to cash buyers who could care less about rates.
If you look at the historical relationship of home prices and mortgage rates, it’s not what you’d think.
There’s not much of a correlation, and higher mortgage rates could actually come with higher home prices as a result of an improving economy.
It’s not as if the moment rates rise home prices will plummet, though the current situation is a little unprecedented.
Additionally, home prices are only up from the “bottom,” and nowhere close to fully recovered, assuming they eventually match the prices seen during the previous bubble, which history tells us they will.
In other words, inventory shortages and low prices are the real driver of demand at the moment, not necessarily low rates.
The low rates are more a boon to those looking to refinance their now expensive mortgages, not reason alone to purchase a home.
Housing bears also believe unemployment will continue to hinder a real recovery, and that there just aren’t any real buyers, only speculators.
The reasoning here is that there aren’t any first-time homebuyers because the economy is in the dumps, and there aren’t any move-up buyers because existing owners don’t have equity.
I think this is a convenient way of summing things up, but doesn’t represent reality. There are plenty of individuals who “missed” the first bubble, and have been patiently waiting to get in this time around.
There are also millions of existing owners with plenty of equity that want to buy again, especially at much lower prices.
What About Mortgage Quality?
To further argue against another housing bubble, the quality of mortgages this time ‘round is night and day.
Can you really compare a 30-year fixed at 3.5% to an option arm with a 1% teaser rate, which after five years, will reset to a fully-indexed and variable rate of 6% or higher.
Or a more straightforward interest-only ARM that becomes fully amortizing (and fully indexed) after 10 years, pushing a homeowner to the brink of default?
Oh, and those types of loans were also taken out at the height of the market, making mortgage payments that much more unsustainable.
Today, borrowers are taking out mortgages they can truly afford, with more skin in the game and no surprise resets in the future. Surely that will make for a more bubble-resistant housing market going forward.
But don’t be surprised if there are some hiccups along the way, because there will always be ups and downs.
Lauren Gumport was en route to a vacation on the island of Chios, Greece, in July, where she was set to stay in an Airbnb for five nights with her best friend.
But upon her arrival in Athens to connect to her flight to Chios, she received a WhatsApp message from someone stating that their dad owned the Airbnb property, but that they managed it. The son said they’d be out of town — and that their dad didn’t speak English — but that Gumport would still be able to check in with the dad.
Gumport, who works for the travel insurance company Faye, is no stranger to stories of travel mishaps. She sensed something was off but forged ahead with the Chios flight. When she arrived at the meeting spot near the Airbnb, no one was there.
“It was hot and not in a touristy area, so it didn’t feel great,” she says. “We were exhausted from the flights and just wanted to drop our bags, so that was frustrating.”
She had an international cell phone plan, so after 15 minutes of waiting for the owner, she called Airbnb customer service. An hour later, an Airbnb customer service agent finally offered to rebook them elsewhere. But with no other suitable Airbnb listings, Gumport declined the offer. Airbnb then offered to pay for two nights at a hotel.
“Airbnb didn’t give any type of nightly cap on cost, and frankly the island didn’t have a ton of options,” she said. “We found a great hotel and sent Airbnb the receipt.”
The two-night hotel stay came out to $443.50, and Gumport received a reimbursement from Airbnb to her bank account in a few days. Airbnb also refunded the $434.22 cost of her original five-night reservation.
As for the other three nights they were supposed to spend in Chios? Gumport took the opportunity to check out another Greek island, where she booked a last-minute stay.
What happens if your host doesn’t show up?
Gumport contacted Airbnb as soon as she realized her host wasn’t there and says Airbnb appropriately compensated her for the inconvenience.
“Luckily, my friend and I have traveled so much that when things go wrong, we just quickly pivot and laugh it off,” she said. “We stayed two nights in the other hotel, had a great time, then hopped on a ferry to Samos, Greece, for the rest of our trip.”
But not all vacation rental companies have robust customer support, and not all will be as generous with compensation. Plus, not all travelers will be able to pivot like Gumport.
And it’s not just vacation rental companies, like Airbnb or Vrbo, where ghosting is a risk. It’s a challenge facing the ever-growing list of peer-to-peer travel platforms. That includes RV rental companies like Outdoorsy or RVshare, and rental car companies like Turo. There’s also a boat equivalent called GetMyBoat.
Each company has its own set of policies to mitigate mishaps. Some immediately rebook the closest alternative, which can often entail an upgrade. If the owner of the Toyota you booked through Turo doesn’t show up, the company might instead send a Tesla.
But even an upgraded Tesla might not come without some stress. Turo says you need to wait at least 30 minutes past the trip start time before you can contact customer support, according to a note on its help page. That’s 30 minutes you might be sitting on a curb in a foreign city, followed by the transport time hauling your bags to a different location once the company has found an alternative.
Also, the second option might not be exactly what you wanted. You may have to sacrifice features found in your initial vacation rental booking, like laundry or a kitchen, given the last-minute arrangement. Potential “upgrades” might not be much better, such as a larger car that just proves harder to park.
For what it’s worth, many sites that facilitate peer-to-peer rental services have increasingly cracked down on hosts who cancel reservations. In September 2023, vacation rental site Vrbo began instituting financial penalties for hosts. The amount of the fee is based on the overall cost of the listing, as well as how far out they cancel.
Have a plan in case you get ghosted
What if you make it to the check-in time and the host hasn’t canceled but also hasn’t materialized? Sometimes careful pre-trip research can’t prevent ghosting, but backup plans during the trip are critical.
Understand the booking company’s policies. For example, Airbnb promises to help rebook guests into a similar place if the host cancels, but the promise only applies to cancellations made by the host within 30 days of check-in. So, if the host cancels 31 days before Super Bowl Sunday for a home in the host city, good luck finding affordable alternative lodging.
Carefully read the reviews and only book listings that have plentiful, positive reviews. Previous guests might offer insights into the host’s reliability and help indicate which rentals to skip.
Have contact information handy for the host and customer support. Should you be abroad, consider purchasing an international phone plan or at least know where to find free Wi-Fi (such as train stations or cafes).
Research nearby alternatives, including other available listings. Be prepared to be flexible and change plans if necessary.
Take advantage of last-minute deals. Just as Gumport ferried to another Greek island for part of her stay, you could be similarly flexible. Hotels can often be cheaper when booked last minute anyway. Jamie Lane, chief economist at vacation rental data platform AirDNA, says the same holds true with lodging beyond hotels.
“Ask for last-minute deals,” Lane says. “Unbooked weeks or recent cancellations can lead to big discounts to fill open nights.”

Generally, your LinkedIn audience is made up of your business interactions, former alumni, recruiters, and other professional contacts. Staying aware of the message you send is going to be important, and that means having a clearer picture of who uses LinkedIn. Here’s a hint: keep it professional.

Let’s take a look at how different companies advertised on LinkedIn and reaped good results.
Example 1: CommVault had a powerful ad because it appealed to consumers’ emotions. They chose to stick to a single line of text, keeping in mind that people have short attention spans these days. The picture chosen fits this ad theme because it gives off the idea that CommVault understands that technology can be stressful sometimes.
Take away: A simple line of text and a great image can go a really long way when capturing the attention of your audience.
Example 2: Salesforce Marketing Cloud did a great job of targeting a specific audience to get results. In the below ad they targeted not just any marketers, but senior level marketers. The headline asks a question and tells you how you can solve it.
Take away: This ad works because it’s highly targeted and captures the audience’s attention by asking a question that needs an answer.
Example 3: Prudential comes out on top because they embedded a video into this LinkedIn ad. Video is, to put it simply, the next big thing. Just look at Periscope, Vine, Boomerang, and Snapchat—all social media platforms built for sharing videos. Videos hold attention spans more than typical text ads and have been proven to have better click-through and conversion rates.
Take away: Video is proven to work. You need to have the right targeting and message set in place.
Facebook

It’s safe to say that most people these days have a Facebook account. And that’s good news for you. Be aware that audience is still a key factor here, though, and will be on any platform.
There are two different types of profiles you can have as a single Facebook user—the personal Facebook account and the business related account. If you only choose to have one personal account, be wary of what you post. If your main focus for having a Facebook is using it for business related endeavors, then keep it professional. You don’t want to end up reminiscing with your college buddies at the expense of your potential clients.

Example 1: This is a great Facebook ad because it’s very clear what the advertiser wants you to do. “Get 3 Bottles For $19!” It appeals to wine lovers and it’s simple. The discount entices you while the sub-text of the ad provides a strong call-to-action.
Take away: Doing the basics well goes far in a Facebook ad.
Example 2: NatureBox made great use out of the photo ad. The image shows exactly what you’re getting: a free trial and various health orientated snacks. The image is very colorful, and enticing enough to appeal to a large range of people. The hook is very clear in this ad, “Free Trial,” while the sub-head makes connects with the viewer?
Take away: Ads with good imagery and a strong hook really stand out with target audiences.
Example 3: In the above ad, Shutterfly used a multi-product ad perfectly. This works because it has all the components that make up a great ad. It’s visual, relevant, enticing with great pictures, and has a good call-to-action. The gentle hues of blue and grey backgrounds mix well with the eye-catching orange logo and background. The hook is consistent throughout all the content as well:40% off. Plus, it has a cat.
Take away: If you want to incorporate a multi-product ad into your social media strategy, than make sure you keep the components above in mind.
Twitter

Twitter has 310 million monthly active users. This means your chances of connecting with people in your industry are pretty good. Having a large following is always a step in the right direction, but don’t make the mistake of thinking that’s all you need.
Timing your tweets to reach the most people–and making your chances of retweets and likes more likely—is another important part of a good Twitter strategy. To really get the best results from your follower base, keep an eye on your Twitter Analytics. Thankfully there are tools to help with that. You can use Tweriod, Twitter Analytics, or Audience to analyze your tweets, figure out which are performing the best, find out when your followers are online, and plan out your next moves. Example 1: Papa John’s promoted tweet worked because it incorporated all the elements of a great Twitter strategy. It was timely, relevant, and could be shared easily. It incorporated a holiday all about love with a food most people love–pizza. The hashtag #HeartShapedPizza, meanwhile, gave fans and customers a way to interact with the brand and share.
Take away: A good tweet is often part of a larger social strategy. However, if your sole purpose is just to promote your brand, Twitter could be a great place to start. Coming up with a creative way to stay relevant during a holiday is what makes brands stay on top.
Example 2: This Old Spice Twitter ad worked because it brought a past character, the Old Spice man, out of retirement. This ad was connected to another social campaign (Commercials/YouTube Commercials.) It also works because it incorporates a clever hashtag and a callback to ads on TV or the internet.
Take away: Being memorable is important. If done right, you’ll be able to trade on that recognition for a long time to come. Old Spice’s commercials, for instance, focus on bizarre and funny shenanigans to make a lasting impression.
Example 3: Just like the above examples, Volkswagen USA did a great job of incorporating a relevant tweet with a live social campaign. The above ad was tied into a commercial that unveiled the New Beetle, during the 2011 Super Bowl. This ad performed so well because Volkswagen is a known brand and everyone earns more, “social klout” airing commercials on Super Bowl Sunday.
Take away: Twitter ads perform the best when they are a part of a bigger social strategy. However, if you’re just trying to stay relevant, try sharing tweets on holidays and including a catchy hashtag or clever wording.
Google+
Understanding Your Audience:
Though originally intended as a Facebook alternative, most users consider Google Plus a business-related platform where you can connect with other professionals in your industry and add them to groups, collections, or communities. This means you should expect your audience to be more professional, like with LinkedIn.

Winning at Google Plus means having a killer page, content, and promotions. Below are a few pages that excel at all three.
Example 1: Android’s page is the most popular business page on Google Plus with over 140,000 fans. They keep their audience engaged by posting frequently and using “flash” promotions such as their 10 cent app promotion and Google music promotions. Every post they share gets around 2,000 shares and more than 3,000 +1’s.
Take away: Engagement, engagement, engagement is the key to any successful Google+ social campaign. As long as you constantly update your page and share relevant information about your brand you will be able to build a following and use social to your advantage.
Example 2: The NASA page is another example of Google+ greatness. It is updated between 5 and 15 times a day with recent news, photos and videos which helps them stay on top.
Take away: Just like Android, NASA does a great job staying relevant to its fans by constantly posting content, videos, and pictures of NASA’s latest missions and experiments. They know their audience and always stay true to their brand which helps them get their content shared and +1.
